So after reading the various threadnoughts forming here and the assorted articles, i've got a shiney new working theory on why the endings failed for most of us: What if EA pushed a deadline down on Bioware, and in response, they released crappy endings as a warn-off aimed at EA in a bid to keep the corporate HQ from interfering with existing franchises?
Is there precendent for something like this? Yes. J. Michael Strazinksy of Babylon 5 fame is rumored to have done something like that with the spinoff, Crusade. The big heads in the corp offices were interfering so he ruined his own series to teach them a lesson (or so i've heard).
The First weak point in this theory i'll freely admit is would Bioware risk destroying their fanbase in a attempt to reduce control?
Thoughts on the matter? Flames (cuz a guy needs to cook his internet space marshmallows on something)
