The game is a masterpiece of visual storytelling. I laughed and cried more than a game had made me do in a long time. Heck, I don't think I'd cried this much since fighting P-33 in Nier's NG+. The game was filled with adrenaline-pumping, awe-inspiring moments. Some of my favourites include, roughly in order:

- The entire opening, up to the end of Mars. It really sucks you into the story, introduces the main plot elements and the desperation of the tale.
- The Krogan clan meeting, where Bakara gives her speech and asks who'll stand with her. And when Shepard is the first to say she will.
- Thane's death. It was poignant and beautiful. The scene with Kolyat and my Shepard, when she asks why the final line said 'she' and he explains, was just expertly done.
- The fight against the Destroyer on Rannoch, and what came after. The battle was epic, and the conclusion of that plot arc was simply stunning.
- The Fall of Thessia, and what it does to Shepard as a person.
- Fighting Kai Leng in Cronos Station, and ending him. It was a seriously hard and epic struggle.
- The end run to the conduit in London, with Harbinger destroying all your forces around you. That scene was just incredible.
- Anderson's death. I don't think I need to explain why.
- If the Indoctrination theory proves to be true, then the ending will also be there. I love the idea that the true final battle for Shepard is whether she falls into the same trap Saren and the Illusive Man did.

Special 'non-plot' mention goes to the Garrus romance and the Liara friendship. Liara making her 'last message' in case we fail was particularly beautiful, and the romance scenes with Garrus were just astoundingly well done.

I loved the whole game until i finished my goodbyes. The whole back end part of the last mission just idk felt incomplete . My squadmates barely say a word ( even though they talk like crazy in every other mission ) combined with for some reason missing music the rest of the game had . I heard the Marines talk and the rest was basically just the weapon noises.

The the ending but well that was talked to death.

Right up until i got to that point i barely stopped playing and was incredibly entertained ( although a few more sidemission and chosing what conflict the resolve first wouldn't have hurt ) .

Apart from the ending, everything was amazingly well written and truly an epic addition to the series. Please fix the end though :)

What did I like about ME3? Pretty much everything. Aside from a little clunky dialogue, especially during the opening, the writing was solid, funny, sad and downright gut wrenching at times. Team mate banter on the ship was fantastic. Javik was an excellent addition in terms of personality and interactions, and also for lore reveals - although I totally disagree about him being considered 'optional'. I can't imagine playing ME3 without him.

It was great to see resolutions to the Krogan genophage and to the Quarian/Geth war and to see how our choices could change things, both for good and bad.  I felt it was a little on the short side in terms of content. I would've liked more N7 bonus missions for sure. But still, the content on offer was fantastic so I can't gripe too much.

Overall, right up until the end, I thought ME3 was the best game in the trilogy. It seemed to have everything that made both ME1 & 2 so great combined so seamlessly. Well, maybe it could've done with some Mako driving action at one point :P

But then we come to the ending...and this is where it just ruins everything for me. Not just ME3, but ME1 & 2 as well.

ME3 was not the time to try to be clever or daring. It was a time to play it safe, to give people the closure they expected. Maybe that would be a little tired, a little cliched - but you know what - it works. You can't make everyone happy, but you could've so easily made 90% of us happy. Instead, it seems you've made 90% of us very, very dissapointed.

I get that maybe you wanted an unexpected ending. This isn't an issue of 'I wanted a happy ending' at all. It's simply that I expected there to be a variety of endings, ranging from very bad, to somewhat good (let's face it, there can't really be a super good ending to any of this). What I got was one ending in three colours. But because we don't see the consequences of any of those 'choices' - they instantly become irrelevant. Why should it matter which button I press when the outcome is identical regardless, and I never see the consequences?

But the thing is, ME3's ending is neither clever, nor daring. It's shoddy, lazy and full of problems. It utterly astounds me because the rest of the game is so very solid in its writing. I can't believe the same writers who worked on the rest of this amazing game thought this was an acceptable way to end things. That the last words you see after the credits roll is 'downloadable content' just feels like a kick in the quads.

I honestly have no desire to replay any of the ME games now, because I know that my choices are worthless, because I know that in the very end, I will see no resolution to those choices, to my unique story. No matter what Shepard I play as, no matterwhat choices I make, the end will always be the same. It flys completely in the face of everything the ME series stood for.

I haven't finished the game yet, as my Shepard is lying, wounded, in a dirty London street, fighting off indoctrination.

Memorable moments so far include:

Talking to Sovereign in ME1, discovering 'powers' can arc around corners and over cover, gasping at the beauty of the tropical beach world as I drive the Mako through it near the end of ME1, the beautiful Tali Loyalty mission and subsequent romance in ME2, the fantastic "Suicide Mission" music and rousing pre-mission speech in ME2, the illuminating moments with Legion in 2 & 3 where you allude to him being much more than he seems ("There was a hole" and "It .... is a reliable model....").

You should be congratulated on crafting a fantastic trilogy, easily amongst the best games ever made - it would be a shame to mar it by not actually telling us how it ends.

My Shepard needs to pick herself up off the floor and finish this, damn it.

In my opinion the endings were just heartbreaking - all three of them. I was really pissed off by the Citadel being taken and then possibly blown up. The Citadel is one of the most iconic things in the ME universe. It's like Coruscant in SW or even more important because it's isn't just a place of power but also has such a great influance on the plot. Without the Citadel - Mass Effect just isn't the same thing. The sense of wonder every time when the game showed the station from afar just can't be replaced with anything else. Also I really hate the though that Garrus and Tali will die out of hunger somewhere on a uknown planet where the Normandy crashed. :/

Hey, love your art and comics! (I'm thehonorablereese on DA)  Yeah, the implications of the ending really bothered me, not just with Tali and Garrus, but with the entire Turian and Quarian fleets stranded on Earth, literally millions destined to die, and not enough food in the world to feed all the dextro-DNA races anyway.

1) Liara wasn't my LI but that scene at the end, basically hinting she loves you and that her "one thing she wanted to do" was have a moment with you, was so touching I nearly cried and I'm a 28 years old man who doesn't get choked up at anything.

Oh yes! I was with Liara in one and Tali in the second, and I rejected Liara for Tali. But this scene, it was so good! I cried. Her resting her head on your shoulder...it said more then a thousand cutscenes!

While it's nice to know bioware is listening, it's not easy talking about the rest of the game when the ending is a kick in the nuts for all you've done up to that stupid conversation with the catalyst.

Oh don't tell me you will just "answer" all of our questions and not fix the game itself, because that is BS. If i wanted that i would go and buy myself a book and not play this game and give 60$ for that kind of ending. Just fix the ending with dlc or something else, make it available to all players who purchased ME3 and i will have no problems with you BioWare.

As to what my favorite moment was in the game i would with no doubt say the romance i had with Liara. She is 80% the reason why i buyed ME3 in the first place.

Hurray for Bioware!
OT, my favo moment with my Shepard, have to be when i broke peace between the Geath and Quariens. It felt truly great and i was heartbroken when Legion gave his life for the greater good. I also liked the moment with Cortez. One of the best written gay characters i have seen. I felt really sorry for him.I liked also at the end (before that stupid Star Child) where you sit with Anderson and talk. If the game had end there with th e crucible had work and killed all the Reapers, it would have been a bittersweet ending. Even if i would have been pissed that Shepard may have died there, it would still be a good ending. :police: There are just so many good moment in the game to list them. Game is great 99 % of the time.

I think they probably just want to give us a little hope by officially sanctioning an "endings" thread. It's only been like 20 minutes.  Give it some time.

My fav moment: my shepard jumping on poor Thane. Plus puting kaidan nose in his poop when i have and opportunity because he backstabed her so well on Horizon in ME2. When My shepard made the Super worm gobble the moissonneur(not sure the name in english). When I happen to kill with my omniblade a big mob even if i'm a sniper. Liara 's astonished reactions at Jaavik comments about her religious statues ahaha .
Bad moments but epic were Legion, Mordin and Thane sacrifice (even thought I don't see why he couldn"t be cured) . Seriously everything is awesome but the events after the final goodbye to the squad mates...And why my shepard'smom who always communicate with her at some point have ignored her ? Is she dead ? How possible a mom don't truy to send a message to her daughter when she will perhaps never see her again? Who will feed my space hamster ??

There were honestly too many good moments to count. Mordin/Thane/Legion's sacrifice brought tears to my eyes and the tension you felt when you had to choose to upload the code for the geth or not was frankly terrifying (talking about before the reputation options come up of course). I'd add the Grunt scene to this but in my playthrough he survived somehow.

The inside jokes like the one with Conrad Verner about falsely accusing you of shooting him due to that bug, as well as all the 'calibration' jokes brought big smiles to my face. The conversation between Joker and Mordin about EDI acutally made me laugh out loud.

The squad member scenes were also very touching. Skeet-shooting with Garrus on that overpass and letting him win is one of my favorite memories of the game. Liara leaving behind capsules for future generations and getting her to tell you her real opinion of you, alongside the dialogue with EDI where you influence the way she develops were also very touching.

Even the ending part in London where you are preparing for the final push was well done. It felt suitably bleak and hopeless while also giving us some great eye candy.

That's why this hurts so much bioware, the game was everything I wanted it to be and quite possibly more right up until I was hit by Harbinger's beam, where Shepard apparently has all choice blasted away from him and has to choose between 3 different colors which all involve him dooming the galaxy to an amount of death that likely rivals what the reapers were able to accomplish.

I may be sounding fatalistic but every ship you brought with you is now dependent on a single planet's resources that has recently been razed to the ground, likely implying mass starvation, and definitely implying the starvation of turians and quarians who followed you since they can't eat any of the food on earth.

Furthermore no race can use the mass relays again, cutting off all major supply lines in the galaxy. Were you on a mining or research station? Hope there's a garden world within spitting distance because you aren't getting any more supplies. The thing about the ending is it's not all that bittersweet considering Shepard has just signed the death warrant of billions at least and completely isolated each member of the galactic community that you worked so hard to repair in the first 98% of the game, and that's in the best possible ending.

This of course assumes that the Crucible destroying the Mass Relays doesn't follow the existing lore set down by Arrival and cause a chain of supernova's that kills any poor sap unfortunate enough to be in a system housing a relay, including earth! We're never told by the magic child that the crucible does things any different than an asteroid so there's really no way we can assume it does otherwise other than "SPACE MAGIC".

I have a hard time getting a bittersweet vibe from any of the endings. The only bone we're thrown is "Hey at least at some unspecified point in the far future things don't suck for these two random people!"

Over the past 4 years I must've played ME and ME2 a good 6 times through at least, once i finished ME3 I tried to start another character I couldn't make it more than 3 hours in because it all felt so.....pointless.

Why do you need to know our favorite part of the game?  Can't you just go to your friends at IGN for that?

I kid because I love.  If it'll help you and the other employees at Bioware from losing all hope and taking up new careers as caribou hunters (that's what they do in Canada, eh?), I'll be happy to tell you my favorite parts:

- Mordin's death scene (take a note from yourselves: this is how to properly do heartbreaking sacrifice...)
- That weird non-combat level inside the geth collective where you find out the full geth/quarian backstory.
- Target shooting with Garrus on the Citadel (although I have to ask,
why weren't they worried about shooting one of those flying cars and
causing a huge mid-air collision?)
- Seeing all those ships lining up for the final battle with the reapers.
- The "final goodbye"  sequence where you talk to all your squadmates, before initiating the push to the beam (I wasn't expecting it, but it was welcome).

Now just get to "enhancing" the ending so Mass Effect goes down in the record books as the best video game series of all time, without a giant asterisk next to its name.

I can't give you just one fav moment because there's three of them:

- When Mordin sacrifices himself. I almost cried after seeing him dying like that while singing.

- Thane's fight with Kai Leng and his death later at the hospital, prayer included.

- Taking revenge on Kai... as a paragon Shep. It felt sooooooo good to stab him Image IPB

However, every good moment on the game, and there's a lot besides those three, is diminished by the terrible ending/s. Why? This article explains it fairly well: http://www.gamefront...-fans-are-right

I loved everything right until the end itself. The end was sloppy, rushed and inconsistent with knowledge we got and had from previous games. The worst thing was the lack of proper conclusion - it just left bad feeling in stomach and realization that what was promised wasn't delivered - a true ending. Even this whole 'it was all hallucination/indoctrination' horrible spawn is direct result of ending that actually didn't have proper conclusion.

I also liked the quarian/geth peace, and Tali mentioning that the geth were interfacing with the quarian suits and simulating infections in order to boost the quarian immune system. Tali stated that the quarians would be able to live without suits in a few years.

Too bad with the endings the quarians are either all dead, stranded on Earth and with all synthetics dead they will not be getting out of those suits any time soon

Well, that's just not going to happen, isn't it? :) I don't think that's the plan here, though, damage control and damage assessment are already in play, and we will learn soon enough what;s the gameplan and whether it was there all along or is a reaction to the almost unilateral hate of the horrible endings.
