I am hoping someone might be able to help me. I apologize if this has already been answered.
I just finished ME3 last night with my import from ME2. Like most people I too was very disappointed in the ending"s". I played the final sequence 3 times to see what each ending would be like. How disappointing to find out each ending was exactly the same. In my game my Shepard dies in all 3 endings. Now I am hearing that when I chose the ending to destroy the Reapers that I should have had a cut scene showing Shepard laying in rubble and then take a breath. My total war assets and military strength were over 7000 and my readiness rating was at 100%, thanks only to playing quite a few games of multiplayer which is a whole other topic of disappointment that I will not get into right now.
So my question is, WTH? I clearly met all the requirements for what they are calling the “Perfect Ending”. Why did I not get that cut scene? Is it because I did not pick that ending first? Do I need to go back and play the entire final mission again? I realize getting that 3 second clip will not change the fact that the ending fell far short of what was expected, but just knowing I should have gotten it and didn’t makes me feel so completely jipped.
And to answer the question of what was my favorite ME3 moment. Hands down when my femshep killed Kai Leng and said “That was for Thane you son-of-a ****" That was by far the most satisfying moment of the game for me.

Mass Effect: Deception...
Mass Effect 3 day 1 DLC...
Buying the press (for example IGN.com, Jessica Chobot)...
Mass Effect 3 ending...
Faith in BioWare = lost. No more money from me unless you fix the ending. I'll probably send you a detailed list (maybe something similar you received from fans about why ME Deception is a big failure) about the mistakes, plot holes, inconsistent stuff in ME3, especially the ending.
Think it's time to consider cancelling my ToR sub... tho it's the only thing that keeps my hope alive seeing a "good-old BioWare" again...

I keep hearing people refer to the fans who didn't like the ending and want a new or revised ending as "entitled" or "bratty". I have the original Mass Effect(w/DLC), Both N7 editions(w/All DLC), both versions of the N7 hoodie, all four books (unfortunately including Deception) and an SR2 Cerberus model. I felt it was out of place and lazy so I want a new ending; In what way am I being bratty or entitled?
You'll be surprised when you realize that they have an entire vocabulary to throw at you. We are asked to keep the vitriol and bad language to a minimum, but the other side sure ain't holding back. Some of the reviews I've seen from "journalists" are downright abusive and insulting.

After few days still I'm upset and sad when I'm thinking about so illogical and unsatisfactory ending of excellent ME series.
I'm waiting for your Bioware move - apologies, explanations, DLC with new/revised/developed different endings (f.e. like in DAO), something what gives me proof that we are listening.

The problem is, the ending doesn't explain what happens to other characters and the rest of the galaxy in general. In a game where everything revolved around character interactions, their progression, the ending shouldn't just leave everyone hanging.

If you like the ending then good for you, I have no problem with that. But surely you have to admit that if 90% of the fans have a major issue with it's logic, and the fact that it's going against what we were promised, then we have a right to voice our opinions?
Would you not prefer that we had alternate endings where our prior decisions played a part in the outcome?
I wouldn't dream of saying you don't have a right to voice your opinion, of course you do!!
Everything we learned from ME2, we understood ME1 for what has happened, everything pointed towards what happened in ME3, the only thing i think didn't happened is that they implementet a renegade gamestart and evolvement of the game, but i haven't played renegade, simply not able to
But the outcome was clear almost after you started playing the game, just the execution was unexpected and for me breathtaking

We all spend 15+ hours gathering assets, it would be nice if we could see more of those assets working, rather then just Krogan, turian, assari and human. I saved the Geth, got an elcor team, and have a pack of surly mercenaries. It would be nice to see them do something, heck the final push to the beam, its all just humans.

Ill start with the positive..Mass Effect is the greatest series of games ever to have blessed any console or pc. From the first moments in ME1 choosing gender, look, and background (mindblowing to me at the time) and getting a shooter with an RPG I was hooked. ME2's continuation of fine storytelling combined with player choice made me an avid believer and salesman of the series to anyone who would listen. Last but certainly not least ME3's amazing battles and background vistas (Palavens moon stands out) and the addition of MP were epic.
..Sadly the conclusion to this epic felt like a departure from all that made it so. In the final moments where I believed ( like a multitude of others ) that all the choices I had made with Shepard would finally play out, they didnt. Just like that an entire galaxy of hard won alliances ,assets, and player choice were sidetracked and moved offscreen to squeeze in the starchild.
..I wont bother with a review for starchild but i will say this...If Bioware felt so strongly that this was their artistic view for the finale fine ,why not intergrate all previous player choices into that outcome? If the battle to the beam had included cameos and maybe slight usage of allies and assets I would have been in tears from the joy and sadness of it all. And while at the Citadel a
possibility for an ally or two to help a fully paragon or renegade Shep( with full assets 7000+) would have been the icing on the cake the series needed.
..So if your listening BW I believe you created a masterpiece just wish you would finish it in the same style you started it in. Thanks for the once in a lifetime memories hope something good comes from all this hurt and mistrust. To all my fellow heartbroken consumer / fans ............................HOLD THE LINE

I don't follow - how could the outcome be clear at the start of the game and still be unexpected?
If you are referring to Shepard dying - that isn't what people are up in arms about. Most want choice about whether Shep lives or dies, they want choice in their endings, true. But if we had a variety of endings and Shep died in all of them, people may be dissapointed, but you would not get the outcry to change the endings (even though the choice we were told we would have implied this could happen).
Its that it simply doesn't make sense. It's the gaps in logic that confuse people. The crew getting off the Normandy - how did they get there? They were in London with Shep. How did the Normandy make it to this Jungle planet? The relays were destroyed. What the hell was the Starchild thing and why wasn't something like that eluded to earlier or why wasn't its (or the Reapers) origin explained (we were told that we woul dfind out exactly what the Reapers where by Bioware). Why do we need to have galactic genocide as the only option (do you know how many people died no matter which ending you pick - the mass relays being destroyed wiped out earth and most major planets that featured in the series). That is massively out of character for Shep and we feel his character would have tried to fight against this.
The AI child said these are your only choices. Why did he accept that? Soverign and Harbinger told him countless times he would fail - did he ever stop? No.
So many things don't add up, flow with what came before in the series, or they just don't follow any logic.
That is why people are upset.

Like many people I have spent hours of game-play starting from ME 1 to get a conclusion in ME3 based on what was advertised, that is my choices. I would even settle for a conclusion that is at least logical and consistent with the remainder of the games.
As a writer I sincerely don't understand how they could have not seen this disappointment coming...even if they had other things planned for the ending they should have still ended it differently.
All that said, I still have faith in Bioware.
Worst Part: Inconclusive endings full of loopholes.
Favorite Part: Story & action until the ending.

I agree, Ive logged allot of hours in this trilogy and i want the choice wether shepard lives or dies. Everything else about this game is almost spot on, except for the the ending. Unfortunately its the ending that kinda spoils the entire trilogy. I hope bioware listens to use and gives us a DLC with a choice in endingsAJ2324 wrote...
Man, Bioware should just make a decision. They don't need to have an ending fix/extension/explanation finished right this instant, but just letting people know that more is on the way specifically for the ending would really help them and of course settle all of the ME fans.

What annoyed me personally was the sheer laziness of that ending. After making your decision it was a 30 sec cutscenes and then the credits. There was no explanation about what happened to any of the races you spent the entire game rallying. No explanation about what actually happened to Earth, that singular goal which kept Shepard going the entire game was almost completely forgotten about at the end. No explanation for why your crew apparently abandoned the fight and high tailed it out of there.
Nothing. It wasn't an ending. It would have been better if they had kept the same outcomes but just simply fleshed it out more, had more narrative and more closure. After 3 games, 5 years and for me well over 120hours of gameplay the entire thing came down to a 30 second rushed cutscene? Lazy.
That's what disappointed me, rather than the outcome itself. I do hope they have some proper DLC offering proper explanations, and that it's free. We paid for an ending to the series and we absolutely did not get one.
What shames it even more is the quality of the rest of the game. Right up until the end it was one of the best games I'd ever played, it didn't take much for them to just wrap it up with some proper explanation which would have sealed it not only GOTY but for me game of all time. The lazy final 30 seconds just destroyed it and was completely jarring after the sheer quality of the rest of the game.
Bioware need to read this fan made ending, which is what should have been in the game: http://arkis.deviant...ILERS-289902125
It's shameful that this meme exactly describes the absurdity of the ending, too: http://cdn.memegener...0x/15992406.jpg

First, it was strange that my team party teleported in normandy, not died near me. Second is kid, I thought he was Shepard's mind game, imagination, like visual presentation what Shepard feels. But then I thought maybe kid was product of repears indoctrination, if it is so what the hell is happening in real world?
After "Final hours with Mass Effect 3" I realized that you guys screwed up everything. You wanted more, but at end failed to bring everything together. Cut final boss fighting with Illusiveman, cut dialog with virtual kid who should answer question who the hell repears are. You were planning add indoctrination ending where repears should fully control Shepard, but cut that too. What were you thinking? At end you made something strange. Guys tell me it was joke and you are going to open curtains and tell us real ending. Maybe that is why after credits we go back Normandy, like woke up from dream, to start real battle.
I agree partially with this guy (), he should be right because you wanted to make this kind of ending, but at end screwed up

Like everyone else I have an opinion about the ending of ME3, but I want to
make it clear that I think that Bioware has the right to end ME3 however it
wants and doesn't need to change a thing no matter what the fans say or think.
I think it is great that the community is so outspoken about ME3, but as fans
we are not entitled to any creative work by Bioware nor a creative work that
must end exactly the way we want it too.
With that said, I'd like to share my questions about the current ending, and
then my opinions.
It seems that in every ending the mass relays are destroyed, and there is a
large energy burst that is sent out and the Arrival DLC hints that such a
release of energy destroys a system. Is Earth destroyed? Did we break the cycle
at the cost of our own? Is galactic society no more due to the end of the
transportation system being gone?
Also with every choice we see Joker trying to outrun a blast wave. Does this
support the idea that the energy wave released is harmful? If Sol is gone, is everyone
who was sent to stop the reapers also dead? If some survived the landing of the
Normandy, how did they get on-board? Last I knew both EDI and Ashley were
on earth, but the magically appeared in space with Joker fleeing an energy wave
(instead of fighting the reapers).
The last images we see are of a grandpa and grandson. We know the cycle has
been broken, and people go on to remember Shepard, but is this the next cycle
remembering what came before thanks to Liara? Or is this indication that we
survived? Or is it all made up for the boy's amusement?
My biggest complaint about these endings is that they are not clear about much
of anything. I don't know if that was intentional or not. Seeing some of
the other endings on YouTube has brought context to why some things happen. For
example in one of the endings the blast wave is obviously bad it wipes out all
life including the reapers, and that would make sense why Joker would flee that
energy wave. But applying the same footage to all endings seems like they tried
a "one size fits all" mentality for the endings which I think has
harmed the story telling.
I would love for further explanation of what happened. They don't have to
change anything, but tell me if nearly all life in the galaxy has been destroyed;
tell me why was joker running? Did the team mates I chose to charge the Reaper
die?
As for my opinion, I feel like the ending was a little weak and somewhat
of a rip-off from Deus Ex 3. Deus Ex 3 leaves you with three choices and then a
cut scene of what happens to humanity based on that choice. This ending works
for Deus Ex 3 because the games focus isn't so much on the characters but what
it means to be human. ME3 on the other hand is extremely character driven. We
are invested because of the world we are a part of and relationships we
established. To offer an ending with little to no closure in either category is
very disappointing. The conclusion offered is big picture, involving all
organics, i.e. breaking the cycle. Which is important, but lackluster when you
overlook everything that Mass Effect is and has been for players in favor of
something that had little focus.
I would have loved to see an option to break the cycle but not destroy the mass
relays, and say something like "We don't care if you think synthetics will
eventually wipe us out. Just because it happened to you doesn't mean it will
happen to us" and take our chances. In my play through we were all getting
along great with the Geth. Obviously, it was incorrect since organic life still
exists and wasn't whipped out by synthetics. But oh well, this was not a
choice.
There have also been some theories floating around that all of these endings
are dreams after being knocked unconscious by the reaper. Which I want to
believe. I think this would give Bioware room to create whatever concrete,
conclusive, non-fussy ending they wanted, but it's a long shot to hope for.
Lastly, I also have issue with the storyteller grandfather at the end. I know
why they put him there. It was for DLC's, but inadvertently it's brought a lot
more into question. I would have rather seen DLC's where the main
character isn't Shepard, but give us glimpses into the world of ME after
the battle for Earth. That way we could get some conclusive perspectives on
what happened.
