But this is quite possibly the most beautiful way to end such an incredible series.

PLEASE, I implore you to read this, it adds so much to the experience. I have loved the series. The writing is powerful and the character have their own personalities that we have come accustomed to. The way you ended the game does not follow the personas that have been created. The way they en now isn't necessarily bad, they are incomplete, they feel like that they lead into a bigger scene, but alas they don't. I can partially understand why this was done, but it doesn't fall under the reputation that you guys at BioWare have created for yourselves.
That. Is. EPIC!

Also, why do you have to wait for more people to play the game before you can answer? There's clearly an issue, with 10's of thousands of people lodging complaints about the ending. Do you think magically that's going to go away? Maybe after a unicorn will deliver your lunch.
You have a problem, you know what it is. Address it in a meaningful way.
Remember it was only released 11 days ago. The overwhelming reaction has clearly shown them there is a problem. I'm okay with giving them some time to think it over. And we don't want to spoil the ending (even if it's already rotten) for those still playing the game.

We understand there is a lot of debate on the Mass Effect 3 ending and we will be more than happy to engage in healthy discussions once more people get to experience the game. We are listening to all of your feedback.
In the meantime, let's give appreciation to Commander Shepard. Whether you loved the ME3 ending or didn't or you just have a lot of questions, he/she has given many of us some of the best adventures we have had while playing games. What was your favorite moment?
Lose the smiley faces first.
Best part of the whole thing? Everything up to the ending in 3.
Yeah, that's it. I pretty much loved everything in it until the last 10 minutes of so of ME3. So the fix is easy yes? The whole game rocks and just needs 10 minutes totally erased or re-jiggered into a REAL set of ENDINGS (plural), not all of them devoid of hope or life.

ME3 is one of the greatest games I've ever played. Some cutscenes are perfectly done, they really have a great impact on the player. I enjoy the gameplay and the development of story.

Until the last 5 minutes.
The game was a masterpiece, ignoring the confusion, plot holes, the lack of a final 'boss fight' to work towards and the out-of-left-field starchild/singularity plot introduced in the last 5 minutes.
And here is why I feel that way.
I played through with one of my characters that had run through ME1 & ME2. All throughout the game, I was amazed at how the little things I had done before were coming back, giving me a sense of the massive impact I was having on the war effort. I brokered alliances nobody thought possible, cured the genophage, brought peace between the geth and quarians...I even shot a reaper in the face with a hand cannon in the final fight on earth. Harbinger landed and shot at me, but I bravely charged ahead anyway.
I was expecting a final climactic moment on the citadel. But I never got it. There was no climax, just an anti-climax. The game might work as a third chapter to a series, closing off and finalizing the threads we've woven in the previous games, but within the confines of a single game, it feels like a race to nowhere. Where is the final boss fight? What are the differences in the endgame between a run through with 5000 war assets and a game with 1500 war assets? I've saved the galaxy, maybe, but I don't *feel* like it was worth the trouble it took to get there.
So I played through again. This time, though, I ran through it. I did not even stop to pick up upgrades. No side-quests. No interaction with my crew. It was a race to the end. I ended up with less than 2000 effective military strength. And yet my charge forward was almost exactly the same. And there was the starchild, speaking down to me and only giving me one choice for an ending. An ending which was nearly identical to my first playthrough, but with a couple seconds of altered footage.
I was reminded of an interview:
http://www.strategyi...uests-neglected
"And so all the different things that you do, if you do a little side quest, or you go off and do a major plot, these things contribute to the war effort. If you just rip straight down the critical path and try and finish the game as soon as you can, and do very little optional or side stuff, then you can finish the game," continued Hudson."You can have some kind of ending and victory, but it’ll be a lot more brutal and minimal relative to if you do a lot of stuff. If you really build a lot of stuff and bring people to your side and rally the entire galaxy around you, and you come into the end game with that, then you’ll get an amazing, very definitive ending."
For the first time in a Bioware game, I have no real motivation to go back and replay it. It feels now like an on-rails shooter to me. I would have loved for the final mission to be like the suicide mission of ME2. With war assets you've aquired playing a major role in whether or not you survive long enough to reach the end. I would have been ecstatic if the final confrontation between Shep and the TIM had had more to it than 'Renegade interrupt or suicide.' If my squad died getting me to the citadel, then maybe I see Shep reaching for the console hearing 'the crucible isn't activating' and then cut to black.
But to have all I've worked for in three games only get me 2 extra pointless choices from some made-up character newly introduced in the last 5 minutes, with no ability to question the circular logic he uses to justify his actions? To end up with 3 choices that amount to what color filters to place on explosions? If I do get the motivation to play the game again, I feel no desire to do anything but quit after the final fight before the citadel beam...and that is what is sad.
Sad that an ending to such a massively good series should feel so hollow compared to the rest of the game. Sad that the ending feels so forced compared to the natural flow of the rest of the game. Sad that in a game built around choice and unforseen consequences, the ending feels linear and short-sighted.

Well.... i will laugh, my girlfriend will cry and call you every kind of names imaginable >_>
That and its funny how evasive BW has been, funny in a completely screwed up way.
Still dont understand why they cant simply give a statement "thats it, deal with it" or "wait for the dlc, itll continue the game", ive read its because the game was still not released everywhere, but still dont get it, i mean, i hadnt finished ME3 yet and i knew there were people anoyed about the end, but that didnt make me go looking to spoil myself of the "why" they were annoyed.

Most favorite moments would the last moments with Mordin and Thane, shooting beverage with Garrus on the Citadell (probably all those little moments with your crew) and the whole Quarian-Geth conflict.

I passed the test, saw right through it. Especially with the Control vs. Destroy dialogue between TIM and Anderson, that really set it up great. Absolutely brilliant, I'm getting FA today, and I'll be buying every last one of your products from now on.
Can't wait to wake up and kick some ass! Thanks for the ride of a lifetime guys! It's all downhill from here!

From where I stand, I reckon it's a consensus rather than a debate: The endings are poor. A real waste.
Hopefully, if a writer such as Sir Conan Doyle changed the "ending" of Sherlock Holmes to quench a public outcry, I'm sure BioWare scenarists could also come to terms with this decision.
As for my favorite moment, I find it tempting to answer that it doesn't matter since the "16 or so" endings (sic) made everything else irrelevant.
Yeah, I'm also quite interested how it came up as a "debate", since from what I can see 95% of these forums hate the endings and at least 5 of my 6 friends who I know played Mass Effect 3 hated it as well. The sixth hasn't contacted me yet, but I'm guessing she won't be too happy about it either.
A lot of the people who don't hate the endings suspect that they are a part of a bigger ending that's coming - if they would be left with the endings like they are right now, they would hate it as well. I am indeed waiting for the indoctrination theory to be true as well.

When I see Bioware give appreciation to Shepard by having an optional ending where he lives and can be reunited with his crew and LI, maybe I'll tell you.
Also : litte blue children ! Where are they ?
Seriously, let's face it : 99% of the game is gold or near it. However, the ending
They are all the same : a critical mission failure from nowhere.
At least that how a lot of people see them. I envy those who are happy with them. I really do.
But it's good to see that Bioware is listening. This thread is very, very welcome.

That is why the ending, with it's lack of cathartic release, has been so frustrating for me. I don't need a happy ending (in fact I fully expected Shepard to die) but I need an emotional release. I needed to see that the galaxy was, in fact saved, that the lessons learned from every sci-fi hero I ever admired and that had been repeated throughout the games was true, that human determination and will can overcome ANY obstacle. I learned this from Kirk, Picard, John Crichton, Star Wars, Mal Reynolds, and even Jason Nesmith: Never give up, never surrender! That was my motto throughout the game, and one that up until the very end had been rewarded and encouraged. I was convinced form the moment that the beam hit me that I was in some kind of dream sequence, fighting off indoctrination. Now that I've been obsessively picking apart the ending, looking for that emotional release I need, I am certain the end was a vision or hallucination. But I need to know what happens after I wake up on that broken concrete. I need to know that the Reapers were beaten, that galactic civilization hadn't ended. And I need to know what the **** was going on with Joker being in a mass relay jump and crashing on a planet with my squadmates who were rushing Harbinger with me. I need my catharsis.
