I beg to differ.  We DO want a happy ending. an option of one.  a Babilon 5 ending.  ME1 and ME2 type ending.

I'm just as tired of "no, we just want clarity" brigade as I am of "sunshine and rainbows and puppies" brigade.  neither is entirely correct.

even if the endings are "clarified"  galactic civilization is STILL screwed without relays.  the endings are STILL far too similar.  and as a result - the game is non replayable, and there's absolutely no motivation to buying any more DLC's for it.  for quite a few of us

Fully agree jeweledleah ... Every Masseffect game i have played i have done MANY playthroughs... but this 3rd one im halfway through my second Full Playthrough and well...................................... lost my steam to wanna play.... and the multiplayer isnt helping.... its just bad in general.

I dont want some prologue either.............. it would be a nice edition to an ACTUAL ending but better not be what they are ONLY planning.............   i have purchased ALL DLC without question or Review on Day 1 of any of the releases...

I believe those days are over for me too.

We don't even know due to plot holes.

Earth could be destroyed due to the Mass Relays destruction.  Which is likely, and explains why the Normandy was fleeing the explosion at the end.

How is that a plot hole?  That's more like an omission of information.

You answered your own question - an omission of information, enough so that what is presented makes no sense, is a plot hole.

"A plot hole, or plothole, is a gap or inconsistency in a storyline that goes against the flow of logic established by the story's plot, or constitutes a blatant omission of relevant information regarding the plot."

I never considered that a plot hole before.  I'm even more impressed that the definition used the same diction that I did lol

I'm on my second playthrough as well and am on the last leg of Earth.  I plan on playing several more times as well after playing ME2 again.  I've seen a lot of differences through the game that have made ME3 have a great deal of replayability.

But how is the multiplayer bad?  I thought it was quite well done, and I'm glad to have something new to play with my brother.  It's interesting, can be quite difficult, and I find it to be a lot of fun.  I hope plan on adding new things to it (like proper missions please) in the future.

Indeed.
"...Yes, we are listening." - shows how good they listen. Very selectively...at best. We have a big group saying they like the ending, we have an even bigger group, saying they don't like it and want what was promised - vastly different endings that are influenced by the choices. Inbetween those groups is a comparatively small group - defenetly the minority - who would be satisfied with more details to the current ending (I refuse to call them engings.)

Just a few people would buy that DLC...at best. Why is Bioware still ignoring the voices of their fanbase? This solution was not asked for and will most likely not be accepted. <_<

I wish they actually were reading these people are making legitimate points.

It's almost depressing... After getting Mass Effect 3 I would be so eager to come home from work just so I could see the show play out before my eyes. It's like a new south park season to me. I was so keen to get to my xbox but then it happened; the end. I couldn't come to terms with it. It was so mentally devastating, It was a bigger killjoy than anything I've ever experienced i think. I had to justify it by following the indoctrination doctrine.

But aside from me personally, I found out all these people, who were actually up in arms against the people they loved all but 3 weeks ago for making the game. The worst part was seeing that all these people were the hardcore fans, the people who bought the special editions, the people who have devoted their time to this series.
It would be like some really pious religious guy reading to the end of the Torah and the end would just have a picture of Moses flipping everyone of with your money in his pockets and your girl hanging on him. That would kill the material in the same way the ending did. Sure, he could read everything in between and gain some good rules to live by, but he'd have to somehow justify that picture at the end, he'd have to come up with a conclusion even if he had scraps of evidence.

That's why we have the indoctrination theory...

Plain and simple quit ****ing! You all whine like little ****es. Bioware Don't change the ending keep it. If your these guys were you fans they would respect that this is your creation not theirs.

If you think you could do better then please I'd love to see any of you ****es make something even an inkling of the depth that this series delivers. So please quit whining.

That's precisely because we are fans that we refuse to see Bioware falling so low. You won't see me on any other developpers' forum telling them that their game ends in a terrible manner, for the simple reason that I don't care if they're making bad games. We are here because we care.

Yea ! Lets see if you could do better, with the budget they had and access to the coders etc.
Thing is Ourik, a lot of those guys HAVE come up with better endings, feel free to read the forums.

I am no salesman. I do not know if this is normal or not.

But it shows something - Bioware may be loosing fans.

We do not want to see it happen. You were the best, You set standards.

Please regain our trust - prepare DLC with many possible endings (from nightmare to happy-ending).

As I said before I am willing to pay handsomely (even the price of a full game) to see it happen.

Just heed vox populi.

Since I didn't read trough all those comments, it is very likely that other people have already mentioned this, but I'm going to say that myself anyway, I just hope it's not too late.

In my opinion, at least the second part of the whole London mission is rushed if not incomplete.
My questions are: What are my teammates doing other than the two I can bring with me?
Why can't I bring all of them, or why isn't the whole thing is done like the Collector Base in ME2?
It would be great to see how they all fit in, the whole thing just doesn't make any sense!
What the hell are our teammates doing?

Harbinger is mentioned troughout the game, he allegedly lead the Reapers durning the invasion of Earth, on Rannoch the reaper says Harbinger speaks of Shepard, in London Anderson says that Harbinger and some others are breaking off from the fight and are headed to the Conduit. Yet we only see a reaper that RESEMBLES Harbinger in the last 3 minutes, there is no big bossfight with him, no epic battle, no epic conversation, nothing!
This whole "Run to the Conduit" scene is almost identical to the ending of Mass Effect 1 (just like the suicide of TIM).
When Shepard wakes up, there's nobody near him. All right he's half dead and all, but what happened to his immediate squadmates? How could Anderson follow him trough the beam if he was nowhere near him?
And about that control room. THERE IS ONLY ONE WAY TO IT. How could Anderson get to it?
Yes I can see that there are many rooms like the one you end up in, all around, they also have bridges that connects them to... SOMETHING, but there is clearly NO ANY OTHER WAY to the control panel... so how did Anderson beat you? Also, we know that TIM made it to the Citadel (the prothean VI tells you), but if all around there's only butcher rooms, and no other ways in, how did he magically appear right behind you? If at least he was waiting for you and Anderson in the control room when you get there together... Also, why would the beam lead directly too a butcher room that directly leads to the control panel? IT MAKES NO SENSE. In fact, the whole game makes no sense since at least the second part of the London mission!

Also, have you guys noticed that this particular area of the CItadel, and the Catalyst chamber as well, is filled with big pilons or pillars with yellow signs that say '1M1' ? This is supposed to be an area of the Citadel that nobody knows of, why are there human letters PRINTED (not tagged or something) on pillars there?
Plus, wasn't Citadel main control supposed to be in the Council Chamber??? In ME1 Saren tried to activate the Citadel Relay from there, and since Sovereign was controlling him, you would think he sent Saren to some VIP area....
Anyways, what's up with the 1M1 signs all around???? You can even find panels that look like panels on the Normandy. This whole thing supports the Indoctrination Theory.

But if that is the case, you still have to tell me what are my teammates doing when we leave the FOB?
They fight. All right. Where? What do they do? They are leading other teams? Why don't they mention it?
What is their mission? If we all want to destroy that Reaper destroyer and go trough the Conduit then why won't they simply come with me as a big happy team?
If the indoctrination theory is NOT true, then why would Joker flee from battle? The blast clearly didn't kill people on Earth, why won't he stay on Earth if the reapers are defeated? How did he manage to get my teammates??

I respect artistic freedom and all, but I can't simply understand how any of you could think that people would be satisfied with this ending the way it is. EA was probably hard on you, rushing you to finish the game, but you could have asked the fans somehow to tell EA to stand down, I don't think even them could whitstand the combined attacks of millions. Or maybe the ending is outrageous so you could convince EA to let you revise the whole thing?
Either way I have no idea how could you say
"You can't really say how many endings there are because they are so different, it's not like you get A, B, or C, it's really diverse." WHEN WE GOT A-B-C CHOICE WHERE ONLY THE COLOUR is different?

there's so many post... too many to read...

i thought the rachni would have played a bigger role in this. i was waiting for that since the first game when i saved her.

protheans are able to touch things and know it's past. wouldn't they have known the reapers were around before?

i thought ME3 would have an ending that would top ME2.. but it obviously didn't. i loved the ending of ME2

This is my main problem with not only ME3, but the whole trilogy. BioWare have yet to actually make your choices matter in any significant way. Dragon Age and Mass Effect do not react to your choices.

I let this slide in ME2, because they said they needed everything in place so ME3 could diverge wildly in different directions, but that never happened.

Despite what we were led to believe, ME3 has a canon of sorts.

You save the Rachni. If you don't the Reapers just *somehow* remake a Rachni "breeder", therefore bringing back an extinct species.. Why don't they just kill everyone in the cycle but clone everyone to make husks then? Or clone billions of people to make Reapers?

You save the Council in ME1. If you don't the Council just turn out to be almost identical appearance-wise, and their dialogue is also almost identical.

You pick Udina as councillor. Otherwise, Anderson just steps down and Udina becomes councillor. Another choice that seemed like it would have impact but was retconned.

The Collector base. You save it. If you don't, the Illusive Man is able to salvage almost all the tech anyway, resulting in +-10 war assets, and one, maybe two lines of dialogue.

I'm sure there are more, but these were the big ones.

I wouldn't usually expect the plot to change much depending on choices, but it is a unique selling point that is advertised constantly for both Dragon Age and Mass Effect in their pre-release build up. Why do you promise it but never deliver?

Arguably, the only choice that has any significant impact is the Virmire Survivor, and even then they both do the same role practically, just with a different face and voice.

If your ME2 squadmates get killed, they are replaced by look-alikes.

Did BioWare need extra time? Extra resources? We can't possibly say. All I know is the next time they advertise our "choices matter" I'm going to scoff, because history has proven otherwise over and over.

I, personally, would have rathered they spent another 2-3 months on it, even charged us an extra $10 for wildly divergent plotlines.

I've already put 5 friends off buying into the Mass Effect series as it just looks like its a waste of time now, nothing we did through the series mattered at the end. Bioware killed the biggest reason to play the ME series, the premiss and promise that our choises would effect the ME world.

And the way bioware are talking they dont give a danm and have zero intention of listening to fans, instead their just going to try and explain that nonsense end they threw together that destorys their own game logic they set up.

At the point investment a Bioware game just is not worth it as they have shown they cant deliver on promises. Its going to be hard to convince that your DLC is worth the purchase, god knows Bioware you killed the will to actually play your game so why buy the DLC, when it looks like you wont change anything and thats the problem with that ending there is no reason.
