Regardless of how one feels about the endings, I think most people loved the vast majority of the game (even overlooking some silly or borked aspects due to how much they liked it.) I think this is something important to remember, that most people are *not* saying the game itself was bad, but rather feeling the endings were unsatisfying in light of the rest of it.

I hope the BioWare staff understands that, especially those who worked on the game itself.

I loved the emotional draw-in, and the very epic sense of scale especially when fighting on ground with reapers attacking in the distance. First time I saw that I just sat there, jaw dropped. The rest of the game did not disappoint (until the very end.)

My Favorite moment was definitely the extremely moving scene on Rannoch, when Tali finally sets foot on her 'home' planet.

Never before have I felt so immersed in a game as in that scene.

I fought so hard for a "happy ending" (being able to survive and rebuild with my friends, allies and LI in the rubble of a collapsed but united galactic community) but unfortunately the ending robbed me of that being even a slight possibility. That was pretty damn traumatizing as I, like so many others, have "inhabited" Shepards character for so long.

This. Or at least if my Shepard must die, give him funerals and a reaction from his LI. Not a LI that goes away, and doesn't mind that Shepard is dead ("hey, nice planet they have here ! :o "). :(

Sorry but I would personally not being able to handle unavoidable death and a funeral. Too much emotions that just draggs me down in a black hole. I am perfectly fine with a "ultimate secrifice ending" as long as I also can avoid it, even if it requires a lot.

One of the funniest moments, the crews response to Seagrent Gardner's food after the ingredient mission, "Hey Sarg, it seems like you put more food in this and less ****!". (ME2)

Tear jerk moment, the scenes following the end of the war between Geth and Quarian.

Most enjoyable moment, the whole Collector base.

I liked the part on mars where ashley almost got killed.
As Ash is my li it made me want fight my enemies even more.
And the way shepard held Ash in his arms bringing her to the normandy...
You nailed it bioware.

But this game desevers a proper ending(s) depending on you'r choices.
An epilogue with you'r li or friends would be a nice bonus once again depending how you played the game.
OOOh almost forgot is there any change to have interaction in the normandy recreation lounges.
Pokertime!!!

Anyway i don't think on buying any dlc if the ending does not get any better.
However i have now problem if i have to pay for a better ending.
As for now i can't even bear myself to start a new game, like i did with ME and ME2

I'm not even gonna talk about the catalyst and the Normandy segments. The idea of destroying the mass relays is STUPID, STUPID, STUPID. I don't believe you have thought it well enough.

Honestly I loved a great many instances from ME 3 many or most of them have been mentioned here already.
One that sticks out though was particularly funny was when Shepard is talking to EDI and she makes a joke about not remembering to turn on the Normandy's air recycling purifier only when she finds something TRULY interesting. The look on my male Shepard's face after she said that was priceless!

I think people hate the ending simply because they don't want to let go of their beloved characters, they wanted the typical Hollywood action movie ending. I personally found the ending very satisfying, and well written. Endings of great stories are difficult to do well - look at Lost and Battlestar Galactica for example. I hope the next Bioware game is an original IP.

Oh and the funniest moment for me was Garrus telling Turian jokes with Joker.

For example, I HATED how season 1 of Game of Thrones ended, i.e. Joffrey being King and the whole Eddard thing (I hadn't read the books by that point), but that didn't stop me from enjoying the rest of the narrative, characters, and story. (I know it's not the ending to the series, but its the best example I can come up with).

Terrible example. GoT is continuing. Mass Effect is not.

Terrible example because season one of Game of Thrones is based on book one of A Song of Ice and Fire by George R.R. Martin.  If it had ended any other way it wouldn't have been true to the books and would have negated the whole point of the show.

Mass Effect is based on Mass Effect.  This was the FIRST ending to the series, the ONLY ending to the series, they had no framework to adhere to other than the previous games.

...and this is what we got.

And terrible example because the last scene in the tv series was life, and hope not death and dispair.

Note how I said I hadn't read the books, and still the ending left a bad taste in my mouth. Its the best example I could come up with.

BioWare wrote the games, the ending was probably true to the games from their standpoint.

Don't you DARE try and deflect/brush off criticism with those insipid smilies and that florid, reconcillitary, stalling prose nonsense.

You are totally screwed the game and the future of Bioware. Don't try to release multi or other singlplayer DLC until you fix the ending.

Don't be deceived by these words. HOLD THE LINE PEOPLE!

Shepard's sacrifice was admirable, but that doesn't change the fact his sacrfice only put the galaxy further into chaos now that mass relays are destroyed. What will happen to your stranded friends? What about the surviving forces in your armada you took with you into the war? What about the many occupied planets/systems/nebulae now isolated and unable to give or receive supplies?

If anything, Shepard's sacrifice was in vain and ultimately gave the galaxy a more grim death.

It was a sacrifice that I had no part in making.  I would not willingly kill myself without fighting with every fiber to NOT die.  I don't want to have an ending shovel-fed to me against my will or nature.

How about I mash my fist into the little kid's face and then kick him like I'm making a field goal, blow the station, get off, get back with Ash and the gang, and limp off to help rebuild the galaxy?  THAT'S my ending.  Not some "All doors lead to hades".

Everything was great except that ending which makes it feel even worse.
Character interaction was probably the best in a Bioware game yet,
Mordin & Thane's death scenes were well written.
Tali's romance was brilliant.

But that ending, honestly everytime I think about it I get a little sick to my stomach. Prior to playing ME3 I was really expecting an option of a "happy" ending where Shep lives and reunites with LI and crew. The fact that this is not even an option just boggles my mind. The ending as it stands now ruins ME for me. What was the point of this journey? I thought this trilogy was about choice. At the most important point, it is taken away from us.

Favorite moment, perhaps - "I'm Garrus Vakarian and this is my favorite spot on the Citadel" But the entire series is full of memorable and wonderful moments.

At 49 pages in I can't imagine having anything to say that hasn't been repeated in every page since the first. ME1, ME2 and 99% of ME3 was the best trilogies I have experienced since I started gaming back in the 80's, heck I'd rate this trilogy over the prequel Star Wars trilogy any day...At least ME didn't have a Jar Jar Binx...Conrad Verner wasn't intolerable.

However it's sad to have to near forcibly forget the ending of ME3 to enjoy the rest of the games at this point. I'll probably pick them up again in a few days when the shock wears off or numbs up. I think the proper approach will just be to turn ME3 off when Harbinger blasts the lot of us...Assumption that everyone dies and the Reapers win is preferable to the ambiguous and nonsensical current ending.

Favorite moment:

"There is no Shepard without Vakarian." One of the best and truest lines ever.

Other moments with a special place in my heart:
Solving the Geth/Quarian conflict
Any and all interactions with Garrus.
Date with Liara
Punching Han'Gerrel (Even as a paragon, this badly needed to happen)
Garrus and Tali hooking up
Seeing how all the old crew I worked to save the last game effected this one.

All of which is made moot by the ending. It tells you everything you worked for during the game was for nothing. Glad you all are listening. I truly hope that's the case, and you aren't just yanking our chain here.

Well at least you say you're listening. When there's little to no dev response it feels like people are shouting into deep space for all the good it does.

Everything before the ending is simply amazing. Really, you guys have no idea how close you were to "Best Game Series EVER" for me. I hope it's not too long before you give the official word on what the hell is going on.

EDIT: To the above posts, same here. *raises hand*
