Making those casual players getting curious about the story, and why not, make them buy ME1 and ME2, it's clearly genius marketing in this way. Sure also they anticipated that hardcore fans will be frustrated about the end, that's why those coming DLCs were expected (Shepard breathes into London ruins, no way..).

Sigh - can I ask, how old are you? Just wondering, as it may explain a few things.
And they didn't say in an interview what they wanted to do, they said WHAT WOULS BE INCLUDED IN THE GAME. There is no grey area here, whether you are not intelligent enough to realise this is irrelevant.
And why shouldn't we give you that 'its different cause it's interactive'? Who are YOU to judge what makes it different or not.
The simple fact is that Bioware, if they so wished, are well within their rights to leave things as they are. Just as we are well within our rights to never buy a Bioware game again because we have lost faith in their abilities. Surely you have to admit that is fair. But the thing is - would Biware want that? There is a lot said about what sort of percentage of fans dislike the ending (I think it is the vast majority) - do you think Bioware are willing to find out?
If a movie or book is generally considered to be rubbish, things are not normally changed (though in books it has been known). However the director or creator etc usually fall into obscurity and struggle to find work again. What Bioware has the chance to do here is to keep ALL of its fanbase happy by offering those who hated the ending something different. Those that like it keep what they have. And its stops them losing a large part of their fan base.
Surely this makes sense to you? Or are you too simple to get to grips with even this?

That is the main issue with the problems of the current ending it was not the intended resolution of the story. It is obviously out of place. Bioware thought they could get away with changing it because they gambled and thought the gamers that really don't care about the previous plots built up in the story would still like Mass Effect 3 and outnumber the ones that didn't.

If the original author who wrote the stories for Mass Effect 1 and 2 says he had already written the ending concept of Mass Effect 3 for Bioware before he left and now the current Bioware team goes completely against it, that is changing the artistic integrity of the original concept. So it is not stupid or childish for people to find the current ending weird or out of place and dislike it or to actually want Bioware to stick to the authors original concept that ties all three stories together like they were originally planned.
Bit of a misconception there. Karpyshyn was ONE of the lead writers to begin with (The Director of the Mass Effect trilogy, Casey Hudson, has been in charge since day 1) and floated the 'Dark Energy' idea as one of several. He himself has said that there are lots of things he was fine with in the final scene, that wouldn't have been different if he was still one of the Lead Writers, and has supported the final team. His actual quote turns up occasionally on forum threads, but I can't remember where the interview was from, I'm afraid!
Although I think his Dark Energy suggestion *was* better (Though still far from perfect), I think there are rumours about his ending that are getting a bit out of hand, and based on little but supposition about people that we don't actually know much about other than that they write for Bioware, and produced an ending we hate. :-P

are we seriously still doing this ?
okay first i need to say this.
thanatos seriously ?
if America desided back in the second word war to just bomb the entire earth with nukes so that everything dies. you'd call that a heroic victory?
that doesn't makes sence at all.
but to come to your other post .
your taking about quarian history . yes they made a mistake with how to deal with the geth.
but to put that event on every organic race in the universe ?
that doesn't work , simply becausse the council banned the creation of AI's to prevent something like that from happening . the quarians just so called skimmed the rules wich is another way of saying . Yes its our fault.
but its not like its the turians , salarians, .... fault , cos they didn't create the geth.
but lets start talking synthetics if you want to get into that.
what are the reapers? they are mostly synthetic.
since the dark matter ending was dumped , who created them?
and what happened to that race? we don't know , becausse bioware said the consumer doesn't need to know . for all we know , the reapers started that war. we can only speculate .
now , i respect your opinion(s) but i disagree .
now lets talk about rights .
everyone has rights . one of those rights is that people are (and yes i'm gonna use this word) entitled to have his/her own opinion.
no ones opinion is wrong . opinions grow from the eyes of the beholder.
meaning if you look at something face value or you dig in deeper . it creates your very own personal truth on something.
so lets all get back on topic . wich is (what are you favourite moments and yes were listening).
the only thing ME3 did wrong . was that it broke its fanbase into 2 parts.
that now can't get along with eachother.
And btw bioware asked for our opinion . its up to them to deside what to do with it .
personally , i've been reading between the lines the last few days . i know my theory is far fetched but i predict a light at the end of this tunnel .

More mature, somehow I doubt that. It certainly doesn't come across in your writing. At all. So no, you are not.
If you contend that it wont work, fair enough. I'm not saying it will bring Bioware down, but they will lose a chunk of their fanbase. And I do think the majority dislike the ending, do you think differently? I guess there is no real way to know other than the thousands of user reviews and poles, and comments on forums, gaming sites and youtube etc.
Regardless, if the DLC simply clears things up, I think a lot less than they were expecting will not buy it. And whilst some who have complained may buy from Bioware in the future, I certainly wont. We will just have to see how well their next games sells and then we will know.

Thanatos just wants the largest amount of people to be unhappy. He also just wants attention--lots of attention. One person posting stupid amounts of posts in favor of the ending is not the same as having an actual group of people supporting the ending--to which there are few, because the ending is a travesty of writing and storytelling, and only a few melancholic souls can enjoy it.

Full Paragon.
Saved the Rachni Queen.
All my squad lived in ME2.
I Cured the Genophage.
Save the Rachni Queen again. (Grunt Lived, After kicking ass)
Got the Krogan and the Turians onside.
United the Geth and the Qurains.
Got 7000 worth of war assets and 100% readieness.
And for what, did all my work lead to an outcome where it counted, where I could save everyone, even if it ment the end for my character. No not even close, instead I got 3 god awful endings that made nosense whatsoever and threw out player interaction. The 3 endings were so poorly writen, poorly done, with so many plot holes and broken logic, that it kills the series and any desire to play the games again.
3 reasons why the endings are so badly broken..
1) Well rounded Characters and their storys are what make Mass Effect great. Good characters that we feel for is why we care about saving the Mass Effect universe. With little or no sign at the end, that any of the great characters, love interests or team mates are genuinly safe, after getting to know them and sort out their issues, its no wonder players feel hard done by as it all seems a bit pointless when all 3 endings seem to embarce all life dying in some fashion.
Great characters also extends to the villians. The Reapers work best as an unknowable force, it made things more intense knowing that, something so bad was coming to destroy everything and there would be no reasoning with it. Then the God/Reaper child showed up with his stupid, I invented sythetics to kill all organic life, to prevent organics inventing synthetic life, which in turn will kill them. The god child killed the Reapers as villians and killed player interest.
2) Lore and logic, dont spend 3 games building up story and backgrond, with a solid logic that works within the series, only to break lore, logic and story when it suits. Its cheap, insulting to players who have taken the time to invest in this world and most importantly never works. The high standard of writing throughout the games with the Genophage cure mission being a true highlight only serves to further expose how badly lore, logic and story are treated at the end.
3) Player interaction/choise. When the god child/reaper leader is introduced it signals the death of player choise and interaction within the Mass Effect world. The player no longer has control over how things play out, regardless of the work the player put in. Whats worse is that it kills Shepard as a leading force for the Mass Effect series. Shepard is no longer the games guiding focus.
Instead Shepard (much like the player) is told by the god child that he will be allowed to chose one of 3 outcomes the god child sees fit to grant. The second this happens Shepard no longer holds any narrative importance, its not Sheps story anymore its the stupid Reaper/God child story as they are the only one with any control over what happens.
If a player put the money, time and work into the Mass Effect games they have every right to protest something so poorly done. They have the right to question broken pomises made that stated their choies will matter and they have the right to ask for better endings, be they happy, sad or bittersweet.
Make new ending DLC free Bioware, it will go a long way to getting fans interested in any future DLC, you want to sell.
Make new endings Bioware that reflect the players input. Dont try to explain the god awful ending and I cant stress this enouth dont try to charge fans to get the real/new/bettter endings. I cant speak for others, but if I see Bioware try and make me pay to fix the ending they botched, then I'm done with Bioware games. I dont buy Capcom or Bethesda games because of the issues with their games and the way the treat their customers/fans. I can and will leave Bioware behind aswell.
I love Biowares work, but all this crap has really got me thinking is it worth putting the money and time into future Bioware games. Bioware' lack of any real concern is telling me no its not.

By the way there are people who didnt understand the ending......
I'm don't want them to change their story to fit me, I want the ending of options and choices that they PROMISED ME THAT I WOULD RECEIVE. ME is a franchise built on the premise of gamer choice and to throw that out the window in the last 15 minutes of the final (is it final? herm.) game is an evil WEB OF LIES.
I did enjoy the game. I love it. You wanna kill my Shepard, fine. You wanna have Shepard blow up the galaxy? Fine. But at least have the decency to make it my choice.
I have never heard a single person in this "i hate the endings hear me rawr" movement who has said, I do not understand what control, destruction or synthesis means, or the color-coded explosions that ensue.

Saddest moment: Mordin dying. You made me care enough to cry.
Happiest moment: Grunt surviving the Rachni. I was yelling in joy.
Disappointed moment: Realising it was impossible to get to 4000 EMS even with all SP war assets, and a Paragon completionist import from ME1/ME2. You promised us that was possible without MP and Infiltrator. So paragon Shepard dies in the destroy option, those few extra seconds and the breath...and I've only seen it on youtube.
Angriest moment: Pretty much after entering the beam. A reworked ending from Deus Ex, not what I expected from you Bioware. Especially after your promises of no magic tech and ABC endings. No closure on crewmates/LI didn't help either.
There I was, convinced that Garrus and I would fulfil his prophecy of facing down a Reaper and dying together to save everyone. I found instead, a rerun of another game I've played. That's just bad form, not artistic licence, and yes I know that the writer for EIDOS Deus Ex now works for EA, so you have the copyright.
Yes, I would pay for a continuation DLC that completed the ending. But I'd like it to be free...
If DLC are in the works, mission based please. Ashes was good, and Javik is hilarious. Who needs more armour?
