what happens in September?

I'll be at MCT for the Marines. And the whole time I'll get to think about this whole DLC stuff. Which is why I hope they announce something for early August.

Definitely. I'm really hoping we'll get some solid news on what's going on at PAX. I think some dev said something on their twitter about talking about the whole DLC thing this weekend.

No more voice-overs for Shepard are being recorded.
Bioware has given more than enough signs that they think all we want is closure to this retarded ending.

Those two signs are clear enough for me. I have only a pathetic shred of hope left that they will fix this clusterf*ck of an ending. We'll see tomorrow at PAX I guess, although I expect an announcement that will actually get people "boooo!"ing.

And it would be pretty to get more information from Catalyst. We have more questions to specialist Treinor, than to him.

Finally got around to finishing it today with my paragon of truth and justice all missions complete male Shep. This game was fantastic, I thought the best in the series and best out of all the Bioware games I've played......right up until the ending.

My jaw literally dropped when I saw how bad it was. I've done my best to avoid spoilers so I didn't understand how people could be so upset. Now I understand.

Did you guys run out of development time? This reminds me an awful lot of the terrible ending to KOTOR2 , which coincidentally did get cut short. It's like the Mass Effect team was making the game right up until the end, then some hacks took over and tried to be artistic while not having played any prior part of this game or prior games. You build up these connections to the characters, most get zero resolution while a handful end up on the other side of the galaxy for some reason? For that matter how the hell did Liara get there? I brought her with me to the conduit, how did she get back up on the ship? Did EDI pull a star trek transporter out of her magic bag of tricks?

After that stupid AI kid gave me the three terrible, terrible choices I tried to shoot him. Multiple times. Anyone else try it?

I've got an alternate evil femshep with a heart of gold when it comes to competent resources (aka crewmen) that I've got saved for my second playthrough. All the deliciously crazy yet tactical decicisons I have made up until now get me the same endings as my boy scout shep. For the first time in the series I don't want to do a second playthrough with her (sorry Ms Hale, it's not you it's them). I have half a mind to just uninstall the stupid game. I'll leave it in for now to see if you guys do anything (doubt it).

Also FYI If you guys focus tested the ending you need to get new focus testers.

You'd better prove that you have been listening when you come to PAX, BioWare.

Or is this going to be another of those lies?

I didn't.  I saw a video that included doing it, though... And it was a bit absurd how happy it made me.

Until the ending, I had a strong feeling that I was just going to buy all the DLC for the first two games and any future DLC for the third and replay the series from the start.  Again.  After the ending, I just didn't care anymore, after coming to terms with how terrible it was.  As it is, I'm pondering just leaving the game in the past and ignoring any and all future DLC, despite how good the rest is.   This is actually incredibly sad, for the only game I've ever pre-ordered and had so much fun with for the entire game up to the ending.  Either way, I'll stick around until the next announcement, and then, we'll see.

Well, as the poll at http://social.biowar...606/polls/28989 says, at the moment, 97.85% of voters want changes to the ending.  At over 70,000 votes, that's not quite a small sample size, either.

wow the indoctrination theory actually puts all the pieces together! if this is in fact biowares intended ending then that's some creative writing right there, thus making way for more dlc content and / or another full game... though still would have preferred multiple proper endings with an actual GOOD ending. at least the indoctrination theory (the clip below at least) answers all the questions.

Watch that video if you have the time. 39 minutes long, but it's worth it. Watch it, then tell me that the ending was good.

I watch and watch and I see so many people just go "blah blah SUCK" or "blah blah GTFO" . Look man. We spent ALOT of our free time on this STORY/game. I say STORY/game because thatis what BioWare DOES. They don't make games. They make interactive stories. I've LOVED every game BioWare has released(I don't understand why people are mad about DA2, it was awesome IMO) but with ME3, they just, I don't know man. It's just not BioWare material. It's like BioWare wrote 90% of the draft and then EA contracted  Edios to finish the game. BioWare would never leave us with such a dismal, no-you-can't-win scenario. That's Square Enix area, think they have a  patent on that approach. But all in all, the game was COMPLETELY awesome.......... right up until I was forced to play Dues Ex Human Revolution. Again... I mean come on guys. I'm a Founder of the Neverwinter Knights and I can't believe this happened...

It's my birthday today, seriously. Can you give me some good news that someone at BW decided to be creative about the Quarian features AT LEAST?

And I understand the fact that it's released game and you can't change what is programed onto a disc, I just just wonder how many people would send it back to get a more... "BioWare" style ending. Cause I know I would. I don't care what the trolls think, I don't play to the news articles, I could give crap less what the parents think, they know the rating. There's another thing! The parents and other individuals who "think" about the ratings. So. You think Mass Effect 3/2/1 is so bad for "propagating gay/lesbian relations" do you? Don't see you boycotting Blockbuster or Hollywood Video, or writing petitions against Redbox and such. So REAL people acting REAL intimate encounters with the same sex are allowable but God forbid we have fictional character engage in such relations. Oh no! The Cyber God with put us in Cyber Hell for that! Pfft. Have you USED the internet? Oh! You have the internet! So you realize that you're FAR too late? Quit whining about fake gay/lesbian relations and grow up. I'm tired of seeing stupid parents trying to lay blame on Bioware for using a social norm.

Still here huh? Was talking with a friend today about the game and we have differing opinions on the ending. But we both agree that changing it is wrong. Sure adding more options is a more honest way to please the fan base (not just the rage trolls). Also a epilogue till they can male more choices. They don't have to keep shepard alive or save the relays as long as they explain why they did it.

-Everything after fireing the Thanix Missiles on the Reaper Destroyer
-No Turian females
-No missions on Karshaan
-Just one mission on Thessia
-Mission at the monestary is way to short
-ME2 Romances/characters are redundant

Lol I shot him too!  Even tried going back down the way I came to get back in the real fight.  Just shows I hated the choices the first time I heard of them.  Why couldnt I reject this kids ideas?!

I waited so long for this game to be released...I played Mass Effect and beat it (finally) after much trial and anguish. I was hooked and was pleasantly surprised to discover that they were releasing Mass Effect 2.
I bought Mass Effect 2 as a pre-order and faithfully played it on every level with every character class available and every DLC that came out. I was actually playing it the day before the ME3 released and beat it on Insanity level.
I bought Mass Effect 3 as a pre-order and beat it without ever having played the Multi-player. I am playing the Multi-player now and enjoying it very much. I have my War Assets at 100% now and have promoted about ten N7 Special Ops teams and am cruising for my second ending now.
Watching names appear on that 'Wall of the Honored Dead' aboard the Normandy really started getting to me especially after one certain ending. The end really just made my jaw drop in shock at its abruptness and the severe lack of any of the expected "Shepard's Choices".
Personally I loved everything about it until the last probably 15 minutes of gameplay... and as the final part began to play I realized that my normal 50-60 hours of gameplay was not going to happen and it was all going to end much earlier... and I was not disappointed there...
What I am actually hoping for is a DLC that severely adds to the gameplay without breaking my pocket book. I am also hoping for a few more choices to be offered as the game develops, The ending really needs some work, and hopefully they will release either a patch, or a DLC or something. I know people can do it, and I hope Bioware is listending this time.

I tried to shoot him and run away in my first playthrough. It was obvious that all "choices" he offers are complete BS. So I tried to run shoot whatever.
Then I used google if there was any other possibility to solve this and THEN I saw the first time how pissed all real Mass Effect fans were about the endings and that my choices are red blue or green. I stared on the screen for 10 min until I forgot which side/color destroys the Reapers.
Then I thought hmmm blue tube thing = Paragon Ending Image IPB FAIL

One more day until PAX, anyone else starting to feel a sense of foreboding? Like the last tiny glimmer of hope we all have is about to be snuffed out when Bioware announces it is simply 'polishing the turd'?

I'll say it again guys be ready for Bioware at Pax to say their endings are great and their not going to change them, but will instead have paid for DLC to futher explain the craptastic endings, because we the fans/customers simply dont understand them and we should thank Bioware for offering the chance to pay them to fix their own mess.

I can see this happening, I really can at this point as Bioware seem to be ignoring the fans/customers when they give a well thought out, reasoned responce as to why the 3 endings fail on all levels.

It would be eaiser to admit they screwed up at this point and just make good with the fans, but I dont think they have screwed up at least not the way us fans think. I belive it was Bioware's intention to have the current endings with the view to selling us the real conclusion. I bet they thought the fans/customers would just lap up whatever Bioware put down, lets face it the gaming press did as they said nothing. Bioware just did not expect the fans, their customers to have such a vocal responce to the truly awful endings and to call them out on their broken promises.

Its going to be a hard sell for any DLC that Bioware put out that dosent get rid of the Reaper/God child endings and bring back player choices as no ME fan/Customer is going to buy new DLC when they know in the end their choices will mean nothing.

Yup, a dominating sense of dread here.

Like I said a page or so back... I think the announcement will ****** us off even more. There are gamers at PAX right? I'm sure there will be people boo'ing. If the announcement sucks -- which it will, because the Shep voice-actors have not been contacted for new lines, for one -- my love for Bioware is gone. It's unfair, because they made the best games out there and Mass Effect was the most perfect world to escape into...... But the way they destroyed that world, that magic, is unforgivable if they won't fix it. The ending was simply so bad, it seemed like Bioware freaking hated what they created so damn much.. they killed it with a scorn that would darken the sun.

I guess I was fine with the ending. Granted, I haven't played all three options yet. It was known it was a trilogy, so it would come to an end. Shepard has an obvious Jesus element, so sacrifice was somewhat obvious. This was a 50k year cycle that would take something drastic to break.

Aren't you a bit condescending in assuming that THIS is what makes people angry?
I, for one, do not mind a sad ending. Nor am I averse to an open ending that leaves a lot to the imagination.
What I DO mind, however, is a broken ending that creates gaping plot holes, clashes with everything that has come before and reduces the crucial element of choice to picking a colour scheme.

Overall, I thought the game was very well put together.

That, I can agree with - except for the final five minutes.

If the indoctrination theory was biowares intention (linked above), then the game isn't finished and must be continued when shepard wakes up. this theory answers all the questions that people have and covers the loop holes. I myself have been converted to believing this theory as it makes sense, whereas the ending being real doesn't at all. if bioware actually reveal this was their intention then that is some creative but loco writing right there. I like it!.. will always be waiting for full closure and multiple endings as promised though.
