and suddenly.. I'm starting to think that that "Mass Shift" leak may have been the real deal after all. since they seem to be adamant about destruction of relays and killing off Shepard....
Yup! I think thats why they ended up forcing this ending in Mass Effect 3, they probalby had the Dark energy idea or something like it originally then under corporate pressure or maybe they just thought it would work started down this Mass Shift direction. Makes sense EA puts on the corporate pressure and cuts down the production time, Bioware can't make it work then STAR CHILD's bad motivation is born.
Its actually funny, all the fanboys that were trying to defend Bioware's artsistc integrity or trying to act like they were more intiligent than the average bear are not realizing they are backing one of the worst trip ups in advertising and story telling in entertaiment media. Bioware/EA had no idea this would go this badly for them trying to get this Mass Shift idea in place. Bioware lost a lot of fans with this they really will have to make the DLC epic to get them back.
If they haven't already lost them forever.

I have to admit Mass Shift sounded superb
the nicest thing I could say to this is... YMMV
if I'm honest about how I feel about "Mass Shift", I'll break every BSN posting rule, several times over.

Ok, does that mean Bioware intended the ending to be nonsensical and basically impossible or that the indoctrination idea was intended?
I'm struggling to understand this press release.
This hurts me.....
The bolded part is the most disheartening. They WANTED the ending to make no sense, so that we would talk about it? Smh.....No, I want to play the game more than 5 times, like I did with Oblivion and ME-2. That's what I wanted.....

Yeah, I get why it's free, making people pay for this DLC would look... bad and would have in the end probably of alienated more of the peeps wanting a revised ending (or whatever this is) than it would have brought back. I'm just a little surprised, I honestly didn't expect this to be free.
And when was Bring Down the Sky free? I payed £5 for it.
hmm.. could it be, its just for pc that its free? because for me i was always free and still is free
and to be honest, I DID expect the "clarification" DLC to be free. I was just hoping that they wouldn't take the path of least resistanceI would have payed for fully revised ending. I did pay for Broken steel after all (granted, Broken steel wasn't JUST the revised ending, but, you get the idea)
400 msp it set me back, so it only realy cost me £3.43.
Despite my issues with the ending I have to say I respect Bio for not giving in to the crushing pressure of the fan base and sticking to their vision. Would I have liked an ending that didn't destroy the Mass Relays and leave 1000's stranded in the sole system? Of course. But I'm getting somthing that (I hope) better explains things and I'm happy with that. Maybe thats all my tiny brain needs. lol And who knows maybe we will get that 'Broken Steel' DLC, I mean they did say there would be DLC for the game and an expansion that bring Shep back would be a shoe in.

Games are made for players by developers. You have forgotten what being a developer is about. We do not pay money to see an ending that YOU wanted to see. Mass Effect 3 will be dropped off at Gamestop tomorrow. I will not buy any future games from Bioware or EA. If I get another EA game, it will be a used copy from Gamestop, because I know how much EA loves Gamestop. My friends will no longer hear positive things about Bioware from me, and I will convince them to do as I said in the above.
Enjoy your artistic dishonesty, corruption, or whatever.

You openly lied to your fans and disappointed them. And you're surprised you get name calling ? I mean seriously ?
That's the last game i buy from you. That's for sure.
You used to be great. How the mighty have fallen...Never been so true..

But I got... A VERY GOOD ending!! I had to watch and read why other people didn't like it to understand. And yes some points are valid but mostly just picky! The 3 choices in the end are vastly different also, even if the cinematic are almost the same! I liked or loved everything about the ending!
I didn’t have that high hopes for the third game because even though I loved the first one the second game was lacking and felt more like a side mission with not enough epic main story arc. But even the second game got better after playing the third because it fits in more now as a whole. So well done Bioware to one of the best game series ever with a superb ending!!

Frankly, I'm just tired of modern societies "Artistic Vision." This ending makes we want to go re-watch the Star Wars Original Trilogy (The Original Original trilogy, before GL screwed it up nearly as this SNAFU) At least that has a decent ending.

lucky you.
I wanted Shepard alive and reunited with the Normandy and its crew, I wanted relays intact. I'm getting neither. no clarification in a world will fix that.

Based on the previous games, many people had hope that they actually DIDN'T forget how to write at the very ending when it mattered most and would follow it up with a free and proper finale. Call it hope and a belief in intended brilliance.
Sadly, this isn't true. I don't even get what you are trying to say.........

No you're not listening at all... The ENTIRE ENDING makes no sense:
Star child - wtf is that about, he made the reapers? How?
Cruciable - designed to destroy? Yet it suddenly let's us do 2 other things without any explanation as to why it does that.
Where is this new place? How come none of the thousands of other species have ever gotten there?
How did anderson get to the beam without injury? Why didn't we go with him if he could survive with light armour? I walked in backwards there was no one there.
How did the illusive man get there?
How come he can control people all of a sudden?
How come we hear Coates say that no one made it to the beam?
How come we don't tell Coates that we did make it to the beam and to press on as Harby left? Back up would have made sense...
How come we have magic ammo that doesn't need reloading?
How come our team isn't with us if our ems is high enough? Surely they should be there somewhere...
if they are there how do they get back on the Normandy and why are they retreating through the gate?
What is happening with the rest of the fleet/galaxy
Why do we wake up in the destroy ending?
I could go on but I can't be arsed now

Once this Extended Cut thing comes out, I'll judge for myself. But this pretty much squeezes any chance of it being the IT and I highly doubt they'll be able to make any more sense out of the star child and his stupid room than we did.
