I won't touch the "endings" debate here - I was disappointed at first, but then I realized there will be more to it than BW has shown us. Now I am waiting for the story finishing DLC :)

My favorite moment... That is very difficult to choose, the game is literally full of them. But I guess the
- "Does this unit have a soul?"
- "The answer is yes, Legion."
- "I know, Creator Tali." [Drops dead]
exchange was extremely touching.

Also, Thane's prayer and demise shook me quite a bit.

All and all, Bioware has outdone themselves with this game, whatever the ending. We should all be grateful for the epic journey of Commander Shepard, even if we currently don't agree with the result. I bet Bioware will surprise us yet.

P.S.: I still hope to see those blue Asari children :)

Indoctrination theory fails. WHEN YOU ARE INDOCTRINATED YOU DO NOT DREAM! You are aware of whats going on but you are too busy being influenced to notice. Saren didn't WAKE UP somewhere after shooting himself, no, he was still in the same spot, and was dead. Ilusive man finally fought the indoctrination after realizing he wasn't in control like he thought he was, he didn't wake up somewhere, no, he dies right there on the citadel. Shepard WAS however almost indoctrinated by ilusive man(who was in turn indoctrinated by the reapers/catalyst) Hence the black weird stuff around the screen when near him. Was no blood loss, that was different. Geez. The renegade option to shoot him breaks that. Or the paragon option to make ilusive man shoot himself ends it too. The endings ACTUALLY happy, don't reach for straws cuz they messed up and you aren't happy with the endings.

why should we say what the best moment in the game was to us if many of us will not play the game again to savor those moments because the ending turned them off THAT much?

don't believe me? Look at amazon....ask a GS employee if they haveh any used copy of ME3 thenl ask them if they any of say ME2 this close to launch

I would have accepted the ending as a fail ending seeing as how the relays exploded and how with this happening all the fleets are stranded on earth meaning mass death if you ask me. Earth would not have the resources available to sustain them all. It had to be a hallucination from the indoctrination on Shepards part i mean seriously???

Not only would it not have the resources available to sustain them, but at least half the fleet wouldn't even be able to eat Earth food.  Quarians and Turians evolved to utilize different nutrients.  Their entire fleets would begin to starve, unless the Quarians brought their liveships along.

Assuming, of course, that said liveships (and all of the ships, oh and let's not forget earth) weren't destroyed when Sol's relay exploded.

And even then, those liveships wouldn't be able to produce enough food to sustain EVERYONE.

My favorite parts were taking back the quarians homeworld and curing the genophage. Pretty much everything was flawless until the last 10 minutes or so left in the game. It caused so much confusion and frustration that I can't even get myself to do any other of my playthroughs that I have waiting. I couldn't even start a new ME1 character because I know it means nothing at all in regaurds to the choices I make.

Thats the number one thing I am disappointed with how this trilogy ends. I have no interest right now in playing through it again because of how it comes to a conclusion. :(

One of the most impressive moments for me was a trivial dialogue with Kelly Chambers. At one moment I had the option to say "you should change your name". I choosed other dialogue.

Time goes by, Cerberus invades the citadel. I'm walking through the refugee camp when I hear some random guy say: "Kelly Chambers is dead, the soldiers asked her name, and shoot her."

Chills went down my spine. It was the first time in a game that I felt really guilty about a decision.

Tuchanka was great, Rannoch was great, and Legion's big mission was really cool if a bit, uh... simplistic. Gameplay-wise, I mean. Great storytelling raight thur, though.

Looking forward to see what Bioware's two cents are on the endings, though. Nice to see a reply.

Shooting drinks with Garrus in the Presidium. That moment was pure gold, and friendship defining moments like that are very rare in video games. Its always "Save the Universe this" and "Kill God that". It was really good to see a moment where two guys (Or a girl depending on the Shep) just cut out the **** and had some fun as buddies.

I really can't believe you didn't expect this kind of reaction to the ending. I mean, it must have been seen as at least one possible reaction. It is all so obvious that fans would be angry or dissapointed.

I know I would've gladly waited another year for a proper ending.

It was forseen.  Casey Hudson said it was exactly what they wanted.  He wanted the ending to "make an impact".  Not to be good, or for people to enjoy it, just for it to be talked about and to have an impact on the players.

And I have to admit, there is no better way to do that than a complete betrayal of a franchise.

Or perhaps it's his unimpeachable loyalty to the ME lore, fan base and the RPG genre and his brilliance as a writer. Be patient. If you don't figure it out for yourself, they'll spoil it once enough people have played the game.

Shepard should have seen this coming, but few who fall victim ever do.

I love the game, everything (apart from endings) was amazing the best part being having finaly Kaidan back
I would really appreciate somthing brighter as an ending like Shepard and the normandy going to the dark space looking for reapers base or smth like that it leaves so much more for imaginations not everyone have messiah/hero complex.
Seeing what happen to the rest of the galaxy -some closure

I really wanna believe that the ending we got aren't real that there is something more to them.. it is driving me insane. As soon as I think I believe in the Dream theory, another part of me believe that it can't be it.. since that means that the end has not come yet... that mass Effect 3 isn't finished.. that we were given a unfinished game.. I am so conflicted :(

Hoping for a resolve to this soon,

I played and got the "best" ending according to bioware, Destroyed the Reapers even though it mean killing EDI and the Geth.. A.I's Shepard Helped come into being.. <_< and got Shepard breathing.. Here's hoping it was all worth something Grand... like the rest of the series was.

Until then I will hold the line! xD

My favorite moments:

- Curing the Genophage and having Wrex around.
- Grunt's epic last stand and surviving, covered in Rachni blood.
- Tali's romance
- Quarian/Geth peaceful resolution
- all around great and comical dialogue with all characters (especially Wrex, Garrus, Tali)

The only thing I felt was sorely absent from my experience was the lack of a Krogan squadmate, whether it be Wrex or Grunt.

Just for the record, lack of a giant, 30 minute epilogue bringing closure is perfectly fine with me. My problem is that the ending didn't make any damn sense.

As far as what I liked about ME3, I know its a bit of a cop out but pretty much everything. I frankly could not contain my excitement about all aspects of the game--constantly telling all my friends they should play it and resisting the urge to reveal spoilers. However, were I to single out on thing that truly made ME3 an amazing game: the romance with Ashley Williams. It felt very real, down to earth, and was ultimately very rewarding (except for...well just read my previous posts).

I also want to mention that I really liked the effort to at least make the maps feel much bigger than what they were in ME2. It still felt a little constrained compared to ME1 which still had the best level design imho. However, the level designers really did a fine job especially on Palaven's moon (whatever it was called). I could go on and on about the good things of ME3... Do you want more Priestly?

So let me get this straight, your Shep being around all The Reapers and The Catalyst, is too much of a God to be indoctrinated?
You sir, are an idiot.
Good day.

There are far too many great moments in the game to come up with an absolute favorite. I love the instances where the game brings tears to my eyes from the loss of a friend. I love the way the game allowed us to reconnect with characters from the previous games, even minor characters.

I think one of my favorite missions was the mission where Legion takes us into the Geth consensus. I love the way we get the whole story of the beginning of the war between the Quarians and the Geth. I was, however, confused as to why the Quarians were wearing their masked suits in those memories when it took place before they fled their homeworld, so the suits would have been unnecessary.

I fought so hard for a "happy ending" (being able to survive and rebuild with my friends, allies and LI in the rubble of a collapsed but united galactic community) but unfortunately the ending robbed me of that being even a slight possibility. That was pretty damn traumatizing as I, like so many others, have "inhabited" Shepards character for so long.

This. Or at least if my Shepard must die, give him funerals and a reaction from his LI. Not a LI that goes away, and doesn't mind that Shepard is dead ("hey, nice planet they have here ! :o "). :(

Sorry but I would personally not being able to handle unavoidable death and a funeral. Too much emotions that just draggs me down in a black hole. I am perfectly fine with a "ultimate secrifice ending" as long as I also can avoid it, even if it requires a lot.

This.

Thank you.

I really couldn't have put it better. I stayed faithful to Liara through the second game so that I could rekindle it in the fourth to have small blue children. I united an entire galaxy full of hatred. And for what? Nothing good? It's dumb, I feel like they shafted me. To make it worse, the ending didn't make sense in a lot of places.

I think part of the reason why it ended up like this might be that difference in experience of mass effect between player and developers. The developers experience the game as developers while players only have acess to the experience being Shepard (and Joker in ME2). They have their product, we are Shepard., so to speak. From Shepards perspective, its a bad ending.

Mordin death (i cry like a baby)
Scene with liara as LI (can't get enough)
The return to earth (too short really)
The Ardat-Yakshi episode ( third playthrough and still good )
Wrex and Garrus ( shame we have to wait the few last mission to recruit tali, glad to put the band back together)
how can i manage to pick just one ? too much awesomeness, it's just easier to choose our worst moments ;)
