Lets say Shepard doesn't burn up in the atmosphere.....After hitting the ground at such great velocity her/his insides would be jelly.......that is if by some miracle they wouldn't be sponging her/him off the Ice rocks....

Space suit.  Terminal velocity.  Real examples of people having fallen from great heights not being even killed.  We do not know the velocity at which Shepard's body hit.  We do know that it was in a sorry state.  There are many explanations for why and how this could happen but you don't care.  None of this is game breaking.  It may be hard to believe and accept for some, but it doesn't hurt the game.  It actually furthers some lines of dialog, explains some things, and adds some drama to it-gets Shepard involved with Cerberus so that aspect of humanity can be explored.

It doesn't suspend all belief.  It may bend it, but does not break it.  The ending takes all possible belief and rips it to shreds, stomps on it, shoves it in the garbage, chews it up, swallows it, vomits it, and you think that's ok.  You are entitled to your opinion, but please if you can accept that, then quit arguing with people about things that can actually make some sense and/or that do at least have something to support them, in science and in the game itself.

What do you think reproduction is?

I don't want to give you a lesson on it here, but somehow there's this thing called an egg that the body creates that has DNA within it.  It gets DNA from another source (in sexual reproduction) and then becomes an embryo.

Parthenogenesis means the embryo is formed by cells with something called DNA in them, that self-replicate, not needing fertilization.

Ok, you don't care, you don't listen, you don't want to know.  Black is red.  Blue means fruit.  And nothing that anyone says matters.  You are just being obstinate in order to ****** people off.  Go play.

What the hell do they teach in schools today?

Using my specific comments here, explain to me just what you are referring to.  What is it you don't understand?

Explain the flaw in this particular post.

Parthenogenesis is a form of asexual reproduction that is used by for one thing Whiptails.

Taken from the ME wiki page on Asari

Although asari have one gender, they are not asexual. An asari provides two copies of her own genes to her offspring, which—regardless of the species or sex of the 'father'—is always an asari. The second set is altered in a unique process called melding, also known as the joining.

Well they were able to restore his or her organs and they had enough of shepards dna from shepards brain since the helmet kept shepards brains together but thanatos you just seem to dismiss everything and use space magic only as reason when their is much more to it then that

Because it is space magic.....It is things not possible. It is why it is
called fiction.  I am just pointing out the hypocrisy of the group here
in complaining that they use fiction at the end.

Just in case anyone from Bioware is still following this thread:

I am still incredibly annoyed by what the ending to Mass Effect 3. If it was your intention to create the worst ending in the history of gaming, nice job.

Fix it. You know what went wrong, don't screw up you second chance - most companies don't even get such an opportunity.

So true!!! Most companies would only dream on having such a loyal customer base. Loyalty accumulated over years of good game design and execution. Most of us are giving BW, based on past history, the benefit of the doubt and are waiting on the EC to decide whether to move on or stick with them. I’d be suicidal to squander this chance.

Bioware and EA took the loyalty we all have for this game and shot it to hell.  Every interview I ever watched or read told us that this would be epic.  Now, for the most part I love the game.  Some of the interaction sequences could have been better, but for the most part I was satisfied...until the end.  Really?  They thought that was epic?  There is nothing remotely rememberable about that ending other than is was just plain bad.  I posted somewhere that I believed that the ending should have been based on your Paragon/Renegade score.  That would have given the chance to have multiple endings that made sense based on your decisions and give a more satisfying experience.  But Bioware screwed the pooch with the 3 basically the same endings and the cutscenes that made no sense.  The ending just felt rushed like they were done under a time constraint.  Epic and rememberable?  No.  Dismal and very forgettable.

More's the pity when a respected story teller can not arrest the decline in quality of their narrative that they 'Jump the Shark'.

Yes they can end their story any way they wish. They could have had Blasto make his debut entrance and blow the Reapers away........ but that would have been silly.

Just curious though Than. What's your stance on the ending in terms of Like/Dislike?

Bubbles’ arguments remind me of the scene in the movie “Planet of the Apes” where the three monkeys in the tribunal are oblivious to the evidence presented that the man is able to speak, even tough the man is speaking right in front of them, and then cover their ears, eyes and mouth.

This is exactly right.  I've never seen such self-important un-illuminated thought in my life except in politics and they do it better.

I think he's just disagreeing to disagree.  He can't even include any rational argument and refuses to do so.  And he can't let go of this thread-he claims we have a problem, at least we like to discuss things.  He can't even do that.

Mr bubbles can't accept scientific facts that can be supported by real life that have some implementation within this science fiction all he sees and feel is space magic and that about sums it up lol

I'd say that the science of ME is theoretically feasible, however we lack the means to actualise parts of it.

Original Star Trek tech was deemed space magic at a time, yet the theoretical science of handheld communicators was actualised as mobile phones. Even teleporation has been acheived, all be it to an atom, and strictly speaking it wasn't teleportation but a copying process. Interestingly this copying process or Heisenberg effect was already known in ST and to get around it they invented the McGuffin Heisenberg compensator.

The thing is no one here has ever said that they can't end it however they please, but we still have the right to disagree with them.  We aren't forcing them to do anything, we can't force them to, so I don't know why it bothers him so much.

But, though they can end it however they please there are certain things they promised and didn't deliver and we as fans don't have to sit quietly and accept that, nor do we have to just accept any facet of a game that we feel is gamebreaking.  We can continue to voice our opinions for as long as we want to and do so respectfully, how we want to.  We are consumers.  A product we bought was not received as promised and is "broken" in some way.  We are asking that it be fixed.  The stupidity comes from just accepting what you are given as if that's what you deserve.  I don't think you'd accept any other product and say that's acceptable.  What if tomorrow a car company decided they wanted you to pay $5000 more for a spare tire, that it's now optional.  It's their right to do so.  I know this is hyperbole but it's to make a point.  Just because a company has a right to do something, does not mean consumers don't have a right to complain and keep complaining till it's fixed.

Furthermore, any company that adopts Thanatos' attitude that they will give us what they damn well please, will not be in business for very long.  If he wants more ME quality games than he should thank people that are speaking up.  They could have just walked away and caused Bioware to make even worse games or to just stop making them altogether.  Instead fans decided to speak up and say "fix this, so we can continue to support you and you can continue to make good games."

Previously, he has said he didn't think the ending was that great-if he says differently now then oh well.

I liked it. It fit the story. It allowed one human to defeat a race os sentiant machines that are far mor powerful than the human...it showed sacrifice and honor......It showed sheoard wasnt a selfish person who only thought of herself.

yet shepard gave up to flawed logic and had space child makes the decisions for her instead having her own true individual choice and not being a mindless zombie who gives up instead of living up to the hero she has been in the previous games let alone a giant cliff hanger where all our forces are trapt in our damaged solar system since long range travel has been damaged or harder to accomplish yeah.....If what thanatos really said was true I don't think so many fans would be angry

There is no actual science behind bringing Shepard back from the dead or that a race of people can use alien dna to reproduce. That is fiction made cause it was a good story. Nothing wrong with it I am just not deluded in it being anything other than what it is.

nor would we have 817 pages talking about it if it was a heroic sacrifice and didn't leave so many pages open instead of finishing the book
