My favourite part would be the ending, where Shepard wakes up in the rubble in london after destroying the reapers with her mind by completely resisting Harbingers indoctrination. Then she walks over to her team and gives them all a big hug. That.. was.. awesome!

Well the worst part about the endings are the lack of variety, in all the endings the mass relays are destroyed, the Normandy lands on a jungle planet, and Shepard "dies"

I think that out of all three endings the 'Destroy" option makes the most sense, but there should at least be 2 more endings. One where Shepard disables the Reapers and manages to save most of the galaxy's infrastructure, and another where the Reapers wipe out/harvest the resistance and the cycle begins again.

Other than that and a few minor bugs the game is pretty close to perfect.

Why not, I do like the vast majority of the game after all, even if there are other considerably smaller issues too.
My favorite moment is difficult to choose, it would probably have to be Mordin's fate. It had to be him, after all. Anyone else might have gotten it wrong.

But as a Talimancer I'd on the other hand have to go with Tali taking off her mask and breathing the air on Rannoch for the first time, "for reals", so to speak.
I just have to point out how saddened I was by the whole stock photo thing though. Not because I didn't like it, I actually did it's just...when it turns out to be a stock photo I'm not sure if I'm supposed to feel like I've "been had". If I'm supposed to expect you to either ignore it as the franchise goes on or redesign Quarians altogether.

Not that I'm expecting this to be read at all to begin with.

Nothing's wrong with the game except for the misplaced pick your color ending. Mass Effect 3 is a masterpiece, but if you seriously care about your fans as you claim, give us your statement about the situation ASAP. Every second without an answer is just making this whole thing worst for you.

And please do yourself a favor and change the endings, otherwise, your reputation will be tarnished forever. I understand it is extremely difficult to make the ending of a trilogy that is based around your decisions and how they affect the future of your story, but to be honest, it just seems like you straight up rushed an "artistic" ending (and I use quotes because this kind of ending is nothing but artistic, unless you count the pretty colors) because of your deadline.

Surely BioWare knew this would be the result of that decision. Why not delay it? If it meant having multiple and complex endings with in depth character differences, endings with the feeling of change and variety, endings that illustrated and rewarded you for your entire journey through the mass effect trilogy, endings that represented the choices you had made prior to the finale, I am 100% sure that fans could've waited another year.

All the fans want is an ending worthy of the Mass Effect trilogy. This end was the reason we played the series, it was the goal we wanted to reach, and after hours of struggle, we wanted it to reward us for all we did, we wanted to feel the impact of our choices on the galaxy.

Mass Effect is a game that earned its reputation because of its unique style. In the end, fans felt as if that style had been flushed down the toilet. The ending didn't have its place in a game like this.

So please, just stop leaving us in the dark. You claim to listen to your fans a bunch, but with the current events, it seems we are kept out of the loop on purpose, almost like the fans aren't important anymore.

Thanks, and nice day to you.

Note: If this offended BioWare or any BioWare employee, it was not meant to. This is a strictly professional viewpoint.

So... I beat Mass Effect 3 last night. I will start by saying what Bioware has done with this series is nothing short of amazing. Never before has a video game flooded me with so many different emotions during the time I spent playing it. This series truly is a work of great storytelling. My total play time with the series is at least 150 hours. I have loved every minute I spent in the universe. Up until the last few minutes, at least.

I have refraned from reading or watching anything about Mass Effect 3 until I had finished it, as I wanted everything to be a surprise and wanted nothing spoiled. So, when after beating the game, and deciding to get online to voice my opinion of how I felt about the game's ending, I wasn't expecting there to be such an overwhelmingly negative backlash to it. I thought maybe there was just something I didnt get, or didnt do right during my playthrough to get the best ending. From the time my female Shepard was having the final conversations with her friends and squadmates before the final battle, I knew she wasn't going to make it out alive. And during her final push to the beam, as she was running through the battlefield, I had a huge lump in my throat the whole time, knowing that this was going to be it. I thought everything up to this point played out perfectly, even the Illusive Man finale and all that... Up until the ghost child appeared.

I am not going to go into details about all the illogical problems and loopholes and out of character conversations Shepard had during the end, its all been said before. I guess I just want to share my opinion that the ending options were horrible and I cannot believe that is what the games makers went with. I was expecting to get tears in my eyes at the end, for 'happy-sad' reasons, I was expecting Shepard to sacrifice herself to save the universe from the Reapers. But I was not prepared for an ending so bleak and depressing. I watched the other endings online to make sure I wasnt missing anything. I chose to destroy the Reapers and Synthetics for good. Not at all what I wanted to do, but it was the only somewhat logical choice for her. She spent the whole series trying to stop them, trying to control them or assimalate with them just seemed totally wrong.

So why destroy the Relays? Now everyone is stranded in the galaxy. When the relays blew up , it appeared to take out whole galaxies. These events appear to be way more devastating to the life in the galaxy than the Reaper attacks. With all the endings I have seen, the Reapers pretty much win, if you think about it logically. What a bleak, depressing state Shepard left the galaxy in after all she went through. The Mass Effect games will always be one of my favorite game series. They are amazing in almost every way. I am just having a hard time understanding what kind of logic was used when the decision was made for these endings... It is the one thing about the games as a whole that sticks out as being wrong to me. The emotions it gave me were not at all even close to what I expected to feel when Shepard finally completed her mission. I didn't get the feeling I fixed anything or helped anyone in the end.

My opinion of the series has not changed, I still love these games and will probably play through them all again sometime. It will be interesting to see how differently Shepard's adventures will feel to me now knowing that everything you do ends up being for nothing in the end.

Honestly as everyone has stated over and over again. Mass Effect 3 was heading for a big 5 out of 5 stars till the last 5 minutes. I enjoyed how you could bring the galaxy together to fight a common threat.Bringing together races.Fighting Cerberus. And the multiplayer was also very well done. It was heading for a very great end to wonderful trilogy. Some thoughts below.

Mass Effect 1 ending. Great your choices made  the difference. Council lives or dies etc. What made it a huge hit and I loved it.

Mass Effect 2. Again right out of the ball park, with your choices making a difference right till the end. What you did in ME2 effected who lived and died on your team, or everyone for that matter. It was hands down one of the best games I have ever played. And I played it numerous times and got the DLC. All who worked on that game kudos a work of genius.

Mass Effect 3:Again like ME2 was heading for another victory until the end. For me I was expecting another choices matter ending bigger than ME2. Hey I kept my Liara/Ash romance saves, I read a big payoff there. A 1000 different choice variables would play into ME3 and the ending when I read that on a site I was like it is shaping up to suprass ME2 all right. I was basically looking forward to another choices made ending scenerios.
Like..

A.You made all the wrong choices REAPERS WIN. EVERYONE DIES possible ending.

B. You made went around giving everyone in the galaxy a big N7 middle finger total renegade ending.something fitting into that. Not playing nice with others wiped out most of the Earth and pretty much the entire fleet..Oh well I still WON. Reapers defeated or taken over like the Illusive Man wanted. Ok now Shepard is the threat.

C.You are such a boy scout (Jacks words) everyone loves you, you brought the galaxy together, reapers dead, world saved, your romanced person by your side, sun comes up over a ruined London. Your story is done, time to retire now off to the beach with Garrus and lots of booze ending.Puppy dogs and rainbows for all.

D.Shepard dies but saves everyone else ending.romanced person over your body.Cut scene with a statue of my Shephard memorial in a rebuilt London.

Variations on teammates live or die due to your decisions. A sneak future peak of everyones lives in slideshow and small story etc. Just some examples of what I was overall expecting somewhat. Like I said that matched or dwarfed the ME2 ending.

Overall, ME3 was an incredible game. It told an amazing story, but the last 10 minutes is one of the most important. You can either make or break a story in this part. Why do you think the Return of the King movie had another 20 minutes of 'bunnies and rainbows'  at the end? It was to add closure to  the characters we had followed on this epic journey. I have never been more pleased to be a gamer then while I was playing the ME series. After the final cut scene ended, I literally wished I had never picked up the series. The pain I felt at the ending made me want to forget the journey we had gone on, because it made it all pointless.Posted Image

Why did the 'master' of the Reapers have to be something that was never alluded to before? Imagine if the Keepers were the true masters, watching and harvesting organic life for a greater purpose... no, maybe not the best ending, but it makes more sense.

Instead, we got a child that doesn't understand the concept of togetherness.

Bioware. This game was an absolute master piece until the ending. I loved every last second of it except for the odd Friendzone convo with Liara...I get you needed a conversation with her to be committed to her but that scene could have been written as a "Where is this going convo, or have her bring up your LotSB conversation about having little blue children and Liara asking if you were serious about that." Other than that absolutely pure genius besides the ending. And even if you didn't plan it this way, I say make the "endings" Shepard over coming indoctrination like in this video:

Then make the true ending after that.

The Death's of Mordin, Legion, and Thane were the most impactful deaths in entertainment ever for me. I was so emotionally invested in their characters and it was heartbreaking seeing them die but they each left this world as heroes of the highest caliber and you did a damn good job. These are the only death scenes to date that have ever made me cry.

The moments with our squadmates were unforgettable this time around and the bro moments with Garrus and Wrex were among my favorties, not to mention Liara's romance was perfect in every way except for what was mentioned before. Javik is one of the best written characters of the series and I love you guys for making him.

All in all amazing game besides the endings. Finish them the way they deserve and you will have made the best trilogy ever.

P.S. Once you finish the endings, Make Wrex a DLC squadmate. COME ON!! If Tali is and Admiral, if Garrus is one of the highest ranking officials in the Turian military, if Ash is a Spectre, and if Liara is the Shadow broker and they can all serve on your ship there's no damn reason Wrex can't be on your ship full time. MAKE IT HAPPEN BIOWARE!!

Eh, I'll bite, under the premise that I'm yelling fix the ending in a hundred other threads and pointing out what I did like won't change that.  (Nor will not fixing the ending bring me back)

Best - Really everything involving Liara.  And this is from the point of someone who didn't have her as a love interest.  She projects the coming darkness and despair and feeling of incredible aloneness better than anyone on your squad.  Everyone else is holding it together, trying to avoid thinking about it.  But Liara's "This is the end, its't it" is so amazingly poignant."

Things that aren't that but are still awesome.
The deaths of Thane, Mordin, and Legion.  These were sacrifices worthy of the space opera genre.  Each with such depth of meaning and sacrifice, and for Thane and Mordin their final acts of redemption.

The appearance of the entire galactic fleet on their Rebels attack the Death star run.

Shepard's Final Moments with Anderson, and really the entire back and forth between Shepard, Hackett and Anderson.

Really all of that stuff above that had incredible depth of feeling.

Aside from that, punching the Quarian Admiral, after he had the nerve to tell me it was a good idea to fire on the ship I was still on.

(and *Badassfullly* Blasto.)

My favorite moment was when I killed Kai Leng. He wasn't a great villain, but it did feel nice to go all out renegade on him.

The future isn't good enough. We demand a simple response now.

Will there be an ending related DLC. Yes or No. It's a simple question. One that we deserve. You lied to us and conned us into buying this game. Now give us what we paid for!

Re: what's wrong with the endings, this article by gamefront.com sums it all up: www.gamefront.com/mass-effect-3-ending-hatred-5-reasons-the-fans-are-right/  :?

But if the indoctrination theory is true, that would refute all the criticism about the endings because then the endings would make absolute sense and allow room for DLC story expansion.

Of course that’s not true. In fact, Mass Effect 3 is all about answering all the biggest questions in the lore, learning about the mysteries and the Protheans and the Reapers, being able to decide for yourself how all of these things come to an end.

Mordins scene had me almost in the manliest crying fit of my life, personally.

And this post by Chris was all I needed to cool my nerves for a while. That's all I really needed to hear was "just wait" in a few more words than that. I'll reaffirm my hope and begin my second playthrough. Don't make me regret it (again)!

Like most people here, I loved the game how deep u guys actually thought about choices, the combat, the much needed improvement on weapon/loot/experience system. I mean you guys fixed everything! It was perfect.........until the last ten minutes. Why bioware? Why did u do this? Heck, I won't blame the whole company. You guys are excellent. Just give me the genius who thought it was a good idea.
