We appreciate everyone’s feedback about Mass Effect 3 and want you to know that we are listening. Active discussions about the ending are more than welcome here, and the team will be reviewing it for feedback and responding when we can. Please note, we want to give people time to experience the game so while we can’t get into specifics right now, we will be able to address some of your questions once more people have had time to complete the game. In the meantime, we’d like to ask that you keep the non-spoiler areas of our forums and our social media channels spoiler free.

We understand there is a lot of debate on the Mass Effect 3 ending and we will be more than happy to engage in healthy discussions once more people get to experience the game. We are listening to all of your feedback.

In the meantime, let's give appreciation to Commander Shepard. Whether you loved the ME3 ending or didn't or you just have a lot of questions, he/she has given many of us some of the best adventures we have had while playing games. What was your favorite moment? :)

Pretty sure everyone knows the ending by now despite finishing the game.

95% vs 5% = Debate? I call that a one sided conversation.

Can't remember my faovrite moment. Too much Starchild.

I just had a few questions about the ending part of the game

Why did the war assets count for nothing?
How did Anderson get there before me?
How did TIM get there at all?
Why did Joker turn tail and run in the middle of the most important battle after proving countless times that he isn't a coward?
Why didn't Shepard go to ilos and take the conduit to open up the citadel.
How did the air stay in with no window or anything to protect against the vacuum of space?
Why does Shepard only listen to the god child?
Why doesn't he ask any questions?
Why do we have to pick one of those options?
Why are the relays always destroyed?
The second game makes a big point of saying that if a relay is destroyed it blows up like a super nova destroying the system it's in, did that happen or did it not? If not why not?
The circular logic of the star child "I made synthetics to kill off organics so synthetics wont kill organics."
Why didn't the star child open the relay to darkspace in the first game?
Why did the Reapers take the citadel to the Sol system?
Why not use the citadel to shut down the relay network like saren did in the first game(you have to reactivate it before stating weather to save the counsel or let them die to take out sovren)?
Why does the star child ignore new data, like me having the geth and the quarians fighting as one and willing to share their homeworld?
How do you build something and put so much time and effort into it without knowing what it does, how it works, what to expect, or even key components of it(I'm talking about the crucible)?
How does my squad go from fighting by my side to on the Normandy?

I could keep going on but I think these are enough for now.

Oh yeah.... and fix the friggen face import issue. I can't tell you how pissed I was when the character model that I created years ago and was accustomed to seeing as "my" Shepard was effectively erased in ME3... I guess that's a good thing IF that gets fixed and IF there is an addon ending, I can just ignore my initial playthrough as a bad dream.

IF.. the largest word in the english language .

Chris, I've played the ME games since renting it on a whim in 2008. Since then, I've purchased 2 CE's, 4 books, and a N7 hoodie. I've put in close to 600 total hours with 7 different characters playing through ME1 and ME2. I've purchased almost all of the DLC for both games, with the only exceptions being some of the weapon packs. I have avatar items for my 360 gamertag including the Normandy and Garrus' eyepatch. I purchased a copy of ME3 at midnight release while waiting on my CE to come in because of an Origin screwup on my preorder just so I could play on release day.

Point being, I've put my money and time where my mouth is. It's the only game series I've ever played that I've put this much into. Nothing else comes close.

I played as time permitted me to across the span of a week after release, including a full day of nothing but ME3, and was awestruck with some of the most engaging storylines I've ever seen. Tuchanka was amazing, and I literally dropped my controller seeing the Thresher Maw destroy the Reaper. Finishing Kai Leng with a omniblade stab for Thane's revenge was better than destroying Lavos in Chrono Trigger. Garrus' interactions with my FemShep as a LI were so great that my non-gamer wife would start watching me play just to see what was going to happen next, and the scenes on Earth and the top of the Citadel reminded me how damn good the writing is in this series.

And then the ending hit, and I literally was stunned for a solid day. All of the different paths I had taken to this point, all of the "man I can't wait to see how it plays out on my other characters", all of that effort/time/money I had spent getting to this point...turned out to be worthless.

So when asked about the game by my colleagues, instead of saying, "Tuchanka was amazing, Rannoch was beautiful, and wait till you fight Kai Leng", I have to say "Don't bother, go play something else so you won't be let down by the ending, with it's pick your color of space magic while your cohorts that were just on earth with you are magically in the Normandy that is running from the final battle for earth at FTL away from an explosion that causes them to crash land somewhere unknown while you become a story Buzz Aldrin tells his grandkid who may/may not be Harbinger in disguise".

I'm grateful that you guys are listening and in some ways responding. I'm extremly happy that your response came across much less abrasive than Casey Hudson's interview. Hell, I'm happy Child's Play got $50k out of this whole ordeal.

But this should be a fair warning that your fans that took a chance on a new series from it's inception won't be so willing to do so in the future if this isn't fixed. Make it right, guys. I hope you do so.

Sigh, the ending.... where to start?
I've been a fan of the series for about a year and a half, originally purchasing ME2 when it was on sale on steam. I played it, and became an instant fan girl. Comics, books, posters, the omni blade, guides (Hell, even a watch). When I witnessed the ending, I was just so disappointed with everything and threw everything out.

The pinnacle of the whole series is the ability to make choices. If my choices don't matter (in a BIG way, not getting 50 war assets) Then there's really no point.

I want to know what happens, and the ending doesn't provide that. What happens if you decide to cure the genophage or sabotage the cure? What happens if you choose the geth over the quarians. I was the type of Shepard that did WHATEVER it took to save humanity, and I want to see the consequences (or rewards) of my actions.

With that being said about closure, I absolutely ADORED the whole LI aspect of the game. The choices that were provided to you, with each character with a certain backstory, personality, and appearence. When you top that off with the romantic scenes being witty, humorous, touching, and romantic, you just pretty much rip everything away when you say "Everything you do is pointless, pick a color and die." There just isn't a point to a romance anymore, which is a damn shame, as they were wonderfully made.

But the replayability issues due to the ending don't stop there. When we're slapped in the face with our choices not mattering, no closure and almost certain death, there just isn't a point to playing anymore, there is no end-game to our decisions which is pretty much the point of the game for alot of people.

I don't really mind the plot holes (Albeit alot of people do) but it would be easy to utilize those in an attempt to fix the ending, if you haven't already. You did see the indoctrination theory, right?

I was so ecstatic to replay the whole series from the first game, but the ending of the last game ruined even the replayability of the first AND second game, because there just isn't a point to anything. Yes, there were some moments where extremely small sub plots were wrapped up well, but as for the rest of it... disappointing.

I know you probably thought the ending should be open for people for interpretation, but we want/need to know, if we cure the genophage, does it end up ****ing us over later? Or do you want to make it EXTREMELY difficult to cure the genophage with minimal consequences? You need to pick a side, BioWare, and end this thing properly.

Maybe then I wouldn't have felt cheated out of my $100.

they hinted somthing about the reapers not being the *masters of the cycle* 1 time near the end i think i dont remember it well tho.

There are so many... Some happy some sad. some... just silly.
In no particular order...

Mordin's final moments I was singing 'modern major general' along with him. and tears come to my eyes just remember it. I hated to lose him. but as story it was poignantly beautiful.

The thresher maw takes down a reaper... Plus the whole dialog about APCs making good nutritional supplements.

going Mano a Mano with a walking battleship armed only with nimble feet and laser designator (even if I WAS swearing a blue streak at the space bar as I resumed game for the nth time)

Learning to Hate Kai Leng. ... Resolving that hate with move that would make Joo Woo green with envy.

Staggering TOWARDS the beam as the radio demanded retreat, ears ringing and barely able to hold up my gun. But still able to headshot husks.

Thane praying for MY soul.

Just about anything that came out of Joker's or Edi's mouths.... come to think of it. Garrus and that New Guy too.

Being a sadistic **** to a hungover Ashley

Putting one udina's x-ring.

Shouting down a Geth Quarian War. .. Legion's last moments....

...

...
..
AGH!!!

And The Way you BETRAYED IT ALL... argh argh argh... I don't get it. how can you be so awesome and yet fail so badly in the end... It's GOT to be Indoc theory....

So many epic moments.
My Favorites:
Tali drunk
Saving Geth and Quarians on Rannoch
Shooting with Garus

Still...All this epic moments feel like they mean nothing, because the ending(s) don't give you any hint about the consequnences of you actions and/or how long they might last.

Bioware, you might wanted to create something memorable, but you created something depressingly unsatisfying.

Just so taken aback at how 99% of the game had great writing, dialogue, etc, only for bioware to COMPLETELY fumble at the end. It just defies comprehension.

Favorite moment?

Snogging Garrus, even though it may have caused some minor tingeling and at worst, a slight allergic reaction since Dextro and Levo don't play nice. Wanted to see something a little 'more' between Garrus and Shepard in the bedroom, though. Garrus doesn't get enough action and it might have been fun to do a love scen on the couch what with Garrus' cowl. But that's just me.

Another favorite, Joker's dialog. All of it.

EDI's questions that really made me think about what I wanted to say.

Garrus' last words to Shepard and the slight hitch in both their voices. I cried like a little girl at that.

Thane kicking Nightwing 2.0's butt. Er... I mean Kai Lang.

Though... why weren't we able to make a " " sign to the Turian councelor when he complained about Turian space being attacked and making a joke about dissmissing the claim that the Reapers were even there. I would have gone Renegade just to make him squirm and eat his words.

Kolyat completing Thane's prayer. It was so touching.

Miranda and "Nobody's perfect."

Jack and the Unicorn.

And many others.

Loved the game from start to almost finish, absolutely the best in the series til the laser blast.
Favourite moments... wow, I teared up so many times, thane, mordin, legion, Garrus at the bar, saying goodbye to everyone, the conversation with Anderson, even though I'm hoping it was a dream.
High points, one of my most notable was just before Shepard took down the reaper on Rannoch, Legion says "Good luck" and Shep replies "Acknowledged", there was just something emotionally uplifting about it, the shooting contest with Garrus, when you miss he shouts "I'm Garrus Vakarian and THIS is my favourite place on the citadel".
And there were many more, the entire game is a series of emotional highs and lows and was incredibly well written and presented, so please don't destroy it with that ending.

I have played through the 3 best ending choices and have to be honest and say that, although slightly convoluted plot wise, (with the citadel being used yet again as the key to everything rather lazily written,) I actually think the 3 choices given at the end were both intelligent and a much more legitimate ending than having Shepard safe and in the arms of his love interest gazing at the stars. The kids have The Twilight Saga for that. Romanticism and a happy ever after would have been MORE of a cop-out from bioware. Like I said, although slightly convoluted, give me gritty bleak realism any time. FAV CHARACTER: the underrated and underused Kashmir.

i get enough "Gritty Realism" from my work and general life so what if i want an ending(should be hard to get ) were me and my LI live happily ever after?

This argument always irritates me. I just feel the need to point out for all of those who say "Shepards story could not have ended any other way." "He needed to die." blah blah.

You realize if this series was all about "gritty realism" the game wouldn't have made it beyond the opening of ME2? The whole Shepard burning up on re-entry in nothing more than his gear, and being little more than a charcoal briquette would pretty much mean game over.

Off topic I know, but dammit, I'm tired of these people and their "death to shepard is the way to go because it's real"

The highlights for me:
-Any scene involving Garrus, especially if he was romanced. Top notch work.
-Eve/Bakara's conversations with Shepard - Not only did we get to meet a female Krogan, but she was awesome.
-Mordin's sacrifice
-Shepard punching Admiral Gerrel
-Shepard talking down Admiral Gerrel
-Inside the Geth Consensus with Legion
-Legion's sacrifice (I know, Tali. Thank you. Keelah Se'lai:crying:)

And then you sent a hammer the size of the Destiny Accension to my junk and I have not stopped sobbing since.

Either you guys at Bioware wrote this as Indoctrination and are busy working on the end, or you really had no idea how to end the game which begs the question of why did you release it incomplete?

If it's Indoctrination, then you are evil genuises... emphasis evil. But seriously, we would have waited for you to make any corrections or complete the ending. We would have waited as long as it took.

If it's not... then... I have no words.

Legion's death.  I hated to see the ol' boy go, but it sure as hell was a beautiful tearjerker of a moment.  Followed, of course, by a very touching exchange between Shepard and Tali.  Basically that entire sequence between bombing the Reaper base on Rannoch until you leave the planet is just incredible.
