It's highly likely a problem with Sony, not Bioware. A lot of game's can't do these kinds of promotion on PS3 due to the system.

This sounds like fun, and I hope you all enjoy it, but I will likely not be participating. I've been angered by the ME3 twitter retweets to the point that after I finish my playthrough of ME3 (I paid for the game, Im going to beat it, lol)) I'm gone.

Good luck with beating Brutes, all![/quote]

Jeez, go then. Nobody asked you to comment or to participate. It's open to you if you want to.

Do I need to remind Bioware of their own story? It doesnt matter anyway if I beat the reapers on silver because EVERYONE is going to die anyway in the end!

Beat the Reapers on silver a few hours ago, but just realised we did it too early. :pinched:

I'm not surprised. This isn't the first limitation similar to this I've ran into I'm sure. There have been other things that have come up that seperated the PS3 from everything else. Nothing major or anything but I would sure as hell be participating in this if I could......

Is that Earth in the background? Why would we be fighting Reapers in the metagame at this point in time if Shepard has won?

Probally because the multiplayer Metagame takes place in between the reaper attack on earth and the defeat of the reapers.
Keep in mind that the SP campaign like any game or movie is heavily condensed, and events actually take place days if not weeks or possibly even months apart.

This sounds like a ploy to get game statistics for reapers. I've played since the demo and got a feel for gold against Cerberus. In the full game...The geth were the easiest to beat (patches have since beefed them up) followed by Cerberus. The reapers have always been the most challenging. Banshees remain the most difficult enemy because of thier high health, insta-kill melee and worst of all, thier unpredictable projectiles that can go trough walls and hit you through cover. Albeit the blasts they shoot -can- be dodged, it's the worst projectile attack the player can be hit with. It eats through your entire shields and into some health.

While I'm all for free giveaways, I've been curious as to why the game sets feedback on by default.. Some of us do not like our devices sending information out without our knowledge.. Here is to hoping for balancing changes :)

So, let me get this straight: only 1% of players liked the ending, it is impossible to get the "best" ending without playing MP, and there are a number of game breaking bugs(not to mention little stuff like the screens in Liara's office). In fact, Amazon is now giving refunds on opened copies, even CE; thats how pissed off the player base is.

And what does Bioware do? Instead of fixing anything, they release a new event that alienates an entire platform because of "technical issues"(aka we can't be bothered to figure it out).

With each day, I'm more and more disappointed in myself for getting a digital copy that I can't return. Although, if I needed anymore reasons to never buy an EA game again, I doubt there will ever be a better reason.

One: Ya its a techniacal issue, no hidden meaning and unless your a employee of bioware you shouldn't make assumptions of what they do and how they do it.

Two: Yes Amazon allows you to return opened copies of the entertainment products so thank you for reminding all of us and since you said you got the digital copy then that last comment was pointless.

Three: As many have said play NG+, and really...your not only still complaining about the ****ing ending and your coming into the news and announcements section of the bioware forums to remind them and us of what hundreds of people have said already.

And really we dont care whether you buy an EA game or not and why. Get a life or something instead of taking time out of your day to post something bashing Bioware thinking your Commander Shepard. Have a nice day.

(sorry for the post, if its not permitted or wanted will remove if asked by moderators or other)

I personally don't see why you would turn it off. How are developers suppose to know what to fix.. or change if you don't send them information.

Thanks for letting us know after we buy the game. Glad PS3 players get shafted because you guys are lazy.

First you guys crap in my eyes during that horrific ending.

Now you just took a dump in my mouth.

What are you gonna do next?

Pretty simple Bioware. Support the PS3 community or we won't support you. Lazy punks.

This is from someone with experience in PR. It's very illuminating.:

Greetings All,

First, I’m flattered someone would repost this. Many thanks.

A couple follow-up thoughts for those wondering what is likely going on with the other side of the mirror in the last couple days:

First, Operation Goliath, the free Star Wars online weekend, and the recent noncommittal overtures to listen are faux olive branches. Sorry. Customers intrinsically want to believe companies they patronize listen and when they stop believing that, the company has to say they are listening and do anything to get the detractors off-message. There are a dozen names for this, but the most memorable was "The Shell Game."

You will know that there’s a genuine need for dialogue in the corporate bunker when the message turns from “we’re listening” to “we acknowledge we may have a disconnect with our consumers and are willing to discuss a meaningful solution to the problem.” It signals an end to non-committed deflection and opening genuine talks to solve the problem (it’s knows as “Exposing Your Throat” btw). At present, you’ll notice Bioware/EA has only said they will “explain” the endings. That’s not a give, that’s a delay tactic.

But here’s the part that amazes me as an old PR guy and is totally new. The disenfranchised base here is changing the old methodology. It’s akin to comparing old-style bunker PR defenses to new blitzkrieg-style consumers. To date, the “bunker strategy” was always used because it was virtually foolproof. However, social media and the 24 hour news cycle have simply changed everything. Twenty years ago, you could not mass 30,000 protesters into a networked base without some luck, money, a GREAT cause and (most importantly) time. By the time you did get organized, folks were either burned out or lost interest. Groups like Take Back have altered the landscape and suddenly the contest is taken from the old paradigm to a crazy new (and wonderful IMO) place. Preorder sales took away customers biggest weapon in the past (i.e. don’t buy the product). Now customers who feel they have received poor value have been potentially re-empowered by the internet. Bioware/EA is feeling the full brunt of this thing while passion is hottest. They are deploying countermeasures faster than the old strategies ever would have ever suggested. To some degree, they are being outmaneuvered atm. But now it depends on how long the protest/outcry holds up.

Two more quick points and I’ll close. First, the Child’s Play movement was brilliant. Notice over the past few days how some of the most visceral detractors to the outcry have had to shift their vitriol from “you’re spoiled selfish haters” to “sure you gave to charity, but you are spoiled selfish haters.” Nobody is drinking that Kool-Aid. Better yet, some outlets are now saying “maybe the game has problem but its still art” from the precedent message “best game ever.” That won’t fly with the mainstream. If its one thing they know is that when “art” hits the marketplace, it is a commodity, nothing more. You’ve changed the countermeasures from "unbiased" critics of the movement into drum beaters simply trying to get you angry. EA’s PR guys probably envy you (grudgingly) atm.

Second, don’t buy the only X people voted in the poll out of 1 billion customers, so they don’t care. That’s bunk. Are there "drum beaters" on both sides of this issue that just want to see controversy, sure. But if I was sitting in an office looking at that Bioware poll, I’d be reaching for a cigarette.

Finally remember, they have much more data at their disposal. They know how sales are going, how much time people are playing that are synced into Origin, etc. They will watch those numbers this weekend. If sales slow, watch for price cutting within 10 days (just over the two week US release date). It will mean that retailers are getting nervous and will slow new unit orders. As I’ve said before, this will come down to hard currency. If the protests start having an effect on that front, the response will come.

I’m an older gamer and again appreciate the repost. To everyone (on both sides) continue to let your voices be heard. You are consumers and have every right to engage in this discourse. The boards being locked yesterday proves someone is watching and knows this is an issue. I'm in the hated-ending camp to be sure, but I admire everyone one of you who is arguing for what believe on both sides!

Cheers.

THIS CHALLENGE IS ONLY IN EFFECT ON XBOX 360 AND PC. UNFORTUNATELY, DUE TO TECHNICAL LIMITATIONS, WE ARE UNABLE TO EXTEND THIS PROGRAM TO THE PLAYSTATION 3 PLATFORM.

I see. Maybe they should do something about:

You were logged in with the correct Origin ID (linked to your Xbox Gamertag or PSN ID if you are playing on a console)

That then cause no point in listing PSN.

I'm in! I just completed 3 w/ full extractions and I'm still going. I really want the Valiant, but any "rare", ultra rare Campaign only Weapon will do. Thanks BioWare. This is fun.

So I spend 75$ on the game at midnight and DLC for my PS3, and we get left out? I payed JUST as much as the horrible Xbox and its owners, and I get shafted? Bioware needs to compensate, you can't leave out your PS3 fanbase.

Its funny how people that claimed they are from PR, appearently missed the announcement regarding the free SWTOR weekend, which was made I dont know...a bit before the release of mass effect 3 and then proceeds to call it a distraction of the current hatred by a minority of people regarding the ME3 ending.

Also bioware is known to host events in there games. They have held a few events in SwTor already and are now doing it with there current multiplayer part of a newly released game. shame on them! No idea why really, but thats what the hating people are saying. Including a retarded boycot of the event that actually only hurts the fans.

The childs play stuff? Good initiative but thats about it. They deserved the money, but the whole retake mass effect bullcrap around it, was pointless.

so how shallow can one be to be honest. Yes he makes good points, but not until the third paragraph.

Challange accepted and Completed! (took us a quite bit of tries! reapers are harder then ya think with those darn banshees!)
