I think he would've been a lot cooler if they had not given him robot china eyes.

Yes that was very racist, but come on. That's literally what they do. It's like, he already has an asian name, now lets give him robotic eyes specifically slanted to look even more asian!

It would've been like if Kai Leng had been called Nbagbo Dulu and had been a sub-sahara african instead, and then TIM decided to give him a huge flat augmented nose.

At the same time... it's sort of ballsy. xD

I hate his look, hate his style, hate how he moves, hate the "cyber ninja thing"... i want to kill him on sight, so i find him very well made, if as a villan he wasn't inspirating much strong feeling from me, that would have been boring.
Just my opinion.

I wasn't a fan of his characterization. He seemed a bit too clichè in a setting that tries its best to avoid clichès. He does seem like he was transported from Deus Ex, though I'm not sure I have a problem with that.

Kai-Leng looks like he was transported from Deus Ex: HR. Which is not a bad thing. :D

I thought he was kind of pathetic as a boss fight. If it weren't for his plot armor he would have been killed before summoning any reinforcements. On insanity, with an adept, I beat him to death with my smg. No powers required.

I dont like plot armor either. The best, and most obvious way they should have done it was that Shepard is seperated from his team and forced to go 1 on 1 with Kai. That would probably have been best.

3 - if he was so AWESOME, why didn't TIM mention him in ME2? Thane could've properly kicked his butt then and we wouldn't be stuck watching him and his glowy hand in ME3.

According to the logs found in the Cerberus base, Kai Leng was only brought in because Sheperd gave TIM the finger at the end of Mass Effect 2. Kai Leng is effectively TIM's new Sheperd.

Only if they made him use his ranged attacks more. For a cyber-ninja, he's not very good with that sword.

He is the most badass looking character in series. Too bad he had so little attention from Bioware

Eating cereal is the only thing Kai Leng is capable of, even my cat is a better assassin.

Kai Leng is a book character. Just like Kahlee Sanders he has been in the series for a long time before ME3, ME3 was just the first game that featured him.

I thought he was a cool character in the game, and made for a good foil for Shepard. He was the best villain in the series since Saren.

Why would that be racist? I don't see the connection, as you can get the same robot-eye-thingy yourself. The only thinged the looked "asian" on him, was the Samurai-styled hairstyle. It's like saying that Jacob is racist for having a black pattern on his suit ..

And for the topic, I loved Kai Leng, his design are the coolest of anything (except Turians) yet. And as a character, well he was pathetic in a good way. Everyone warned about how dangeorus this Kai Leng was, and yet you ended up mocking him the entire fight which made him whine like a little kid, it was fun.

I hated his plot-armor. It just didn't make sense at numerous points, especially for certain Shepard builds that should have easily defeated him. One of the parts I hated the most was his stupid gunship recharge hax on Thessia, especially after Shepard had already destroyed gunships in ME2, and how he is still visible through it, or when Shepard is barely hanging on to that piece of rubble near the end and can't do stuff like biotic charge or simply using biotics or mass effect fields to easily get back up. The way they scripted his battles with Shepard before you get to actually kill him were poorly done, because it doesn't make sense why you _can't_ actually kill him. It would actually make more sense for Bioware to have had him killable, but it turned out to be some kind of android decoy unit he was controlling, or if you kill him he gets replaced by someone else in later battles. Either way, they should have scripted the Thessia battle better to take into account the kinds of things Shepard and team can pull off, if they want you to fail to get the data and VI. Personally, I think they should have made it so that you can both win or lose there, and can possibly deny things from Cerberus, but it will provoke them into tracking down and attacking the Crucible to steal the data, so they can take the info off-screen and not have to explain Shepard being suddenly incompetent against Kai Leng.

I thought he was an arse, but then that was probably the idea. Thinking he was better than Shepard..pffft. Only thing he was good at was cheap shots followed by running away when he couldn't stand the heat. The ninja thing was a bit out of place I felt, but didn't bother me particularly...except that I natuarally expected more from him when it came to a fight.

He wouldn't have made for a very interesting villian if he could be easily killed by Shepard in the first confrontation. Story always trumps gameplay. How good of a game would Mass Effect 1 have been if Shepard could have killed Saren on Eden Prime or Virmire?

I really hated the fight against him on Thessia. It's completely scripted, there's not way to hurt him when he's recharging and he's just a coward.

I can take a gunship, even with the sun in my eyes, as long as the gunship isn't cheated to fire on me continuously like this one was.

I can take someone with a shield on, even if he recharges his shield regularly. As long as he doesn't recharge his shield when you've done 1/10 of damage on it.

Kai Leng is a coward and a weakling, as soon as the shields drop, three bullets and he's just a bad memory.

I liked the Renegade Interrupt though.

I liked that the holes in his mask for his eyes... were super slant-y. Not his eyes mind you, but the freakin' mask. LMAO. Ethnic stereotypes FTW!!!

On a serious note --- as a villain, he was very hate-able, the most I've ever hated in a video game. So that's a good thing. As a boss fight --- pathetically lame.

Bioware's never been terribly good at boss fights.

I felt genuinly crap after that fight. Bioware did a good job of making me feel how Shepard was supposed to feel. That fight left a bad taste in my mouth..I couldn't wait for a rematch to rip his guts out.

I wish he had a larger role, and I wish it was possible to let him live. Kai Leng is one of my favorite characters in the entire series. They seriously wasted the talent they had in Troy Baker to only give him a handful of lines. What a shame.

I wish he was as impressive during the actual fights as he is in the cut scenes. What I wanted was a worthy opponent. What I got was a smug sob who brags even though he keeps running away.

I have to admit he was strangely amusing though. In a 'so lame he's funny' sort of way.
I laughed when he called my vanguard shep slow. You know, the one that can charge at people with ftl speed. Yeah...
