I enjoyed killing him, I have hated him since I read Retribution.

After Shep's renegade interrupt, I wanted to say to my television screen, "....and for Liselle!"

For those of you who haven't read the books, Liselle was Aria T'Loaks daughter. She was involved romantically with Paul Grayson, a character being hunted down by Kai Leng on orders of the Illusive Man. Kai Leng breaks into an apartment Grayson was staying at on Omega (can't recall now if it was Liselle or Grayson's), and not finding him there, slits Liselle's throat while she is sleeping. He had no reason to kill her other than he is a vindictive, evil, jack@ss. I've hated him ever since.

I thought he was a great character....a bit Bruce Lee-ish. He had such a smug face it made you want to kill him which I guess is the desired effect.

The character was bad in many ways, but if they improved the combat it would've been much better. Something like being able to shoot like phantoms or do lunge attacks or gymnastics as he tries to get closer to Shepard to attack. The way it is, he's just running around almost aimlessly eating bullets like cereal. I don't hate Kai Leng, I hate bioware for failing so badly.

His introduction was mysterious - good
His choice to not use both a gun and a sword in a Mass Effect world seemed odd - bad
The fact that his biotics seemed highly inconsistent - bad
The fact that in ME2 you destroyed multiple gunships yet couldn't destroy his because of 'sun glare' - bad
The 'troll' email - good
How Shepard is able to anger him during the final battle - good
The fact that he couldn't kill Miranda who is one of the weakest squadmates in ME2 - bad

I dunno, he's a mixed bag as far as I can tell. I liked parts, but thought others were cheesy.

The fact that his biotics seemed highly inconsistent - bad -I don't think he has biotics, the only powers he used were tech powers that manipulated mass effect fields (like biotic grenades)

The fact that in ME2 you destroyed multiple gunships yet couldn't destroy his because of 'sun glare' - bad -You could only get about 5 shots off with a pistol in that scene. Gunships can survive that

The 'troll' email - good

How Shepard is able to anger him during the final battle - good

The fact that he couldn't kill Miranda who is one of the weakest squadmates in ME2 - bad -Miranda said she came prepared. Considering they're both some of the highest ranking Cerberus officers, the duel was probably pretty tough for both.

I dunno, he's a mixed bag as far as I can tell. I liked parts, but thought others were cheesy.

He was uninspiring put it that way. An annoyance than anything, I felt no emotional attachment or investment in him. Other than, he merked Thane and his childish email. Wasted potential but what did we expect from a cereal muncher?

Seriously... I had to stop beating him so he could bring in the next wave of reinforcements. If nothing else, it was the most cathartic boss fight.

He kind of turned into a comedy character from the books. However, I thought he had a pretty cool voice actor. And I kind of liked him as well.

The phantoms to me are very similar to the assassins in Borderlands. Maybe a little touch out of place, but a good show for how much more fluid the combat has become.

He was a good voice actor, I agree.

But... he was still a generic anime-space-ninja taken straight out of fanfic.

I agree. He felt so out of place! I was so happy when I used that renegade interupt on him.

I thought that character was fairly good and fit with Cerberus ties to synthetics.

He just felt totally out of place with that stupid mask and sword and his animations... ugh. From the moment I first saw him I wanted to kill him or mod him out of my game. Every time when he appeared I felt the urge to quit ME3. Fortunately there are some parts where he doesn't appear that are quite good (the genophage, quarians vs geth etc.).

But yeah he's the worst character in the series and I have no idea what Bioware was thinking. If you're gonna give Cerberus an assassin, at least make his animations look normal and give him a friggin gun.

You do realize the Nemesis soldiers of Cerberus are the same way and have similar animations? he felt out of place, yet Cerberus was making clone soldiers trying to make perfect ones like Eva, Kai, Miranda, etc. Stupid Mask? Have you seen some of Shepard's masks? What's wrong with a sword? he seems to be doing fine with it as most people in the future don't wear armor but the Military.

I read the books.... tbh, I had an idea how Kai Leng would look like. Without the ridicilous mask, he would come pretty close I think. Got me riled up pretty good by losing the duel, running and sending me that #*((# mail. I really wanted to kill him, BADLY, after that. Talked with my housemates, they really wanted to kill him too after playing that section of the game.
