Is anyone already working on this?
I'm not saying that the mage hats in DA: O look ridiculous but... well, let's say that I'm happy that they disappear during dialogues.

I cant mod, but I do have some suggestions for mage hats.
Diadems, hoods, hoods combined with a diadem, hoods combined with a decorated steel mask, old fasioned wizard hat gandalf style and masks of all sorts.
Some more robe variety wouldnt hurt either, and there is a reaper's vestment thats light blue. Looks a bit odd for something with that name, could this be changed to something darker and more menacing?

I haven't seen a project in particular focusing on hats, though I've seen some armor & arms projects. I'm not sure if those include wizard's garb though. I agree - the hats are, to me, almost not worth wearing (use of the auto-unequip helmet mod helps with that, though).

The problem lies with the... odd models, which are not yet possible to remake with the tools we have available. Would certainly be much easier if we could just retexture existing models; can't do much with just the current two mage hoods.

Is it really only 2 primary hood models? I haven't played a mage, so wouldn't be sure. That sucks
I'd be able to model some if the importers & exporters were up and running effectively, any news on those?

I hate the hats =\\ I tried to go without wearing them as long as possible. Who thought they were a good idea? Just about anything is better then the current ones

There is a cool mod on the nexus that hides the hats. It doesn't work after you start the Awakening campaign, and I know it's not the same as actually wearing cool hats, but at least you can save your eyes from the pain of looking at these dreadful designs

Hell, is it possible to retexture the mage robes to get rid of the furry shoulder pads?
That alone would rock.

This!!
But yes, the hats do look pretty ridiculous. I was pretty disappointed with all the head wear to be honest. I've tried having a go with the toolset but failed miserably

agreed. I hate the mage robs and hats. So silly looking; I can barely take myself seriously running around in those.

I guess it should be somewhere in here :
http://social.biowar...63/#discussions
or at least there are hints how to export/import models from DA to customize them

There will always be shoulder parts, unless you plan to change the model, however, if you change the textures, it might look differently, so that might not be an issue
e.g. something like this

I think someone needs to make a chef hat, too. After all, if Alistair is going to do the cooking, he needs to look the part...
