It really is beyond me how people can be so offended because of Tali's face. I never cared about it at all. To me they could've just left it out, don't care.

Just bought the thing today, so I'll need some time to get through all the stuff. The quote about Shepard being controlled by the reapers feels like a hint that the indoc-thing might be true though...

Its due to the failed promise and the lack of effort on Biowares part.

On Tali's Face
We eventually decided that she gives you a memento of her pictures, but the team was throwing around a lot of pictures and designs until we decided on something and said "Yup, that's her".

The missing part of the quote:
" So we sent this intern to do a google search, and bam! Some quick photoshop and we got Tali's face in game."

And cheaply photoshopped it, not even the hands are right. And why should she look classically human/ beautiful? What I saw through the  visor didn't even look like this one bit. Where are the forehead-bulges? Why does she have long brown hair etc? BW should have better paid someone from Deviant art to use their picure. There are so many decent Tali- designs:

Sorry for the excursion, doesn't beling here, I know. Just another thing that makes me

I am kind of surprise that Final Hours wasn't included with the Collector's Edition. The 3 things I always expect from Collector's Edition are artbook, soundtrack, and behind the scene.

If you have learned nothing from the DA/ME debacle is that when it comes to Bioware/EA this is what talks.

I just don't get how BIoware went from a great company with Mass Effect 2 (that wasn't that long ago) to this horror of ending, how the hell did no one at Bioware say something that the fans might not like this ending?

I agree... i don't understand how this made it through. I'm going to guess that Caseyis surrounded by a bunch of yes-men .. who basically have no talent and who's livelihoods depend on telling them what they want to hear .. so when he came up with this idea...nobody questioned him.

Kinda like George Lucas with the prequel trilogy, you'd think somebody in the writing department or other's in the production crew  would realise what a crock of s##t this was with the ending as it is.
I imagineits like Plinkett's view of the production of the prequel trilogy, everyones afraid of Casey Hudson and just runs with every idea that he suggests; though at least Lucas's more stupid stuff can be traced to contrived ways to sell merchandise

I liked the fanfic ending, sort of. I think the ending worked right up until they introduce the spacebrat. Rather than make it a choice, I might just go with having the VS be the sacrifice though. Much like Mordin, he's shown a tragic flaw all throughout the games; not trusting Shepard.

Sacrificing his life to save Shepard would be a nice way of showing that he got over it at last, and that he is sorry for being a dick all this time. Of course, this requires that Shepard be nice to him despite the doubts. If you told him to duck a sick you have to sacrifice yourself instead.

Honestly, whether they release a DLC to fix the ending or not, making the consumer (who's already paid $60+ for your game) pay extra to have the ENDING is complete horse****. If I pay 80 dollars for the damned "collector's edition" I want the full product, not some half-assed ending that you plan on fixing with a DLC. I-I just, I don't even . . .

Well they came close on one count. I honestly did experience a flash of the Matrix (specifically the chat with the Architect in Reloaded) while talking to the idiot child. When he told me what my 'choices' were, I suddenly heard a thousand Shepards in perfect unison snap "Bull****!"

It's like naming your first child after something you're looking at. "Hmm..my son will be named...Skyrim."

As mentioned previously, i expected more effort to be put into something like this. If they left it out, i wouldn't have cared. It's the fact they decided to do it half-assed that is irksome.

"We had the final fight with the Illusive man in the game, but it just felt very Video Gamey." Ho2 cool is that? Ever thought about Mass Effect 3 being a video game? And perhaps a video game should feel like a video game, shouldn't it? Oh no, that thought is too revolutionary!

Why it must be just ME3 to be so complicated and unclear? So many theories, claims, assumptions - none of them are 100% clear. Why did they do this in third game? Bioware did a bold move by this non-conventional ending. I am not saying it is bad. But player want to know what happened. Yes we know the basics that Shepard has sacrificed himself, Reapers are gone and galaxy is on the threshold of entirely new era. But deux ex machina like the Catalyst requires to give players more info. I can accept the artistic integrity, but the game feels unfinished so far. I can't wait till extended cut. I hope it will end all this.

Hi. It's new idea how to make BW so depressed as we are:
retake campaign "TURN it ON and TURN it OFF" - more info
on HTL (http://www.holdtheli...or-bioware.877/)
on FB (http://www.facebook....10761315601880/)
Please invite your friends!

Shortly how to take part:
- Turn ON the Mass Effect 3 single player campaign at some point during Saturday, April 28th (Pacific Time/GMT -7). It does not need to be on for the entire 24 hour period.
- Tweet Bioware/EA to let them know you are playing in order to show them the number of fans who support them. Post an after action report on the BSN.
- Turn OFF Mass Effect 3 and do not play either single or multiplayer for the entirety of Sunday, April 29th (Pacific Time/GMT -7). The game must be shut off for the entire 24 hour period. Do not log in to the BSN forum during this time.
- Tweet Bioware/EA again to let them know you are demonstrating their potential loss of customers.

Hey guys,
So Geoff Keighley (the guy who is the host of Spike Tv's GTTV) released an iPad app called Mass Effect 3: The Final Hours (which you can find here:  http://t.co/6GvlZqQg).

Here's the official website: ME3 The Final Hours

It supposedly has insider information on scrapped parts of the game, interviews with bioware staff over some of the moments in the game, and never before seen art work (which was also scrapped). I just bought the app and hope to update you guys later on, with any interesting news from the app.

Also a Windows/Mac version will be out later, presumably through steam (its the same as the final hours for portal 2).

The cost is $2.99

Interesting Quotes: (Please note, some of these I'm transcribing from Video's. I'm trying to be as accurate as possible. Will try rewatching the videos later and updating then.)

Mac Walters on the Star Child/Reapers
"Originally, with the catalyst, the star child at the end of the game, I had written that much more in the guise of a investigative style conversation, where there is something he tells you but then, you get to ask a bunch of questions and you get your questions answered. But then me and Casey talked and decided, lets keep the conversation "High level". Give you the details that you need to know, but don't get into the stuff that you don't need to know. Like "How long have they been reaping?" You don't need to know the answers to the mass effect universe. So we intentionally left those out"

Casey on after Mass Effect 3
"Whatever we do would likely happen before or during the events of Mass Effect 3, not after"

On delaying the game
In march 2011, he also faced a roomful of Mass Effect developers who expressed concern about hitting the promised holiday release date... New release date set for March 2012. After much deliberation, the CAT mission (or rather, the Prothean mission) had to be removed from the set of tasks. The missions would later be completed as post-release content"

Casey on the End Boss
'We had the final fight with the Illusive man in the game, but it just felt very Video Gamey. It didnt fit in with the themes. And really, is there a point of the end boss if only for the sake of an end boss?'

The article also states 'Although art was created for this sequence, it was ultimately dropped because it felt too predictable to end the series on a massive boss battle.'

On Tali's Face
We eventually decided that she gives you a memento of her pictures, but the team was throwing around a lot of pictures and designs until we decided on something and said "Yup, that's her".

On Deciding the End of the Game
The illusive man boss fight had been scrapped... but there was still much debate. 'One night walters scribbled down some thought on various ways the game could end with the line "Lots of speculation for Everyone!" at the bottom of the page.'

In truth the final bits of dialogue were debated right up until the end of 2011. Martin sheen's voice-over session for the illusive man, originally scheduled for August, was delayed until mid-November so the writers would have more time to finesse the ending.

And even in November the gameplay team was still experimenting with an endgame sequence where players would suddenly lose control of Shepard's movement and fall under full reaper control. (This sequence was dropped because the gaemplay mechanic proved too troublesome to implement alongside dialogue choices).

Deleted Scenes Videos:
- Liara and Garrus are running behind sheppard in the run for the conduit. Garrus falls over and Liara tries to pick him up. As he gets up, the two run and are hit by a laser as sheppard watches on without hope. In the final version (which is shown beside the deleted scenes video.) the body of your team mates are on the floor dead instead.

Edit: Sorry, those images can't be posted here due to copy right. Please do not post them on these forums. - Chris

Kay so the images were taken down, just wanted to let everyone know, Keep the discussion civil. Also if you question the authenticity of any of the things being posted here, buy the app for yourself or wait for the PC version and buy it there. I think the APP is very much worth it with all the info it has...

Some notes
- DO NOT POST THE PICTURES.
- Be civil
- If you have any questions, feel free to ask. I will not be sending the pictures to anyone... buy the app your self if you would like to do that.
- Keep in mind the money for this app goes towards development costs of the App. There's a lot to the app, and I personally feel it was worth $3, it had loads of information and was a rewarding read. That is all. :)

Chris, we get an awful lot of "keep it civil" from you, but we feel very little civility from a development team that made specific promises about a PRODUCT (not some esoteric art form, mind you, but a purchased product with advertised features) but did not keep them, then lied about how and why it happened, and then implied that fans were being unreasonable for expecting a product to contain what it advertised.

When can we expect civility from YOU?

I am not confident that it will, given the condescending responses we have consistently gotten from the developers.

Oh, sorry...i didn`t knew this wasn`t a game at all...

btw a end boss is waaaaaaay more understandable then a starchild...or at least a fight with the goddam starchild who thinks it can make the dicisions for you!

I can't really believe this. They screwed up intentionally on so many things rather than accidentially. How the hell could anyone think that Starchild was a good idea? It had the potiential to be (Heck, it could have been an insane AI or something) but we just get vague "Oh lol totally take my word as all truth" and Shepard's final words being "I don't know."

Damnit Bioware. >:|

Investigative style conversation with the star child - would have been better and I'm pretty sure most people would have enjoyed having questions to ask instead of Shepard being forced to believe every word that comes out of the Reaper kings mouth

No end boss because it felt too video gamey - I'm sorry I was under the impression I was playing a video game.

Seems like Bioware thought about it too much and ended up convincing themselves into scrapping ideas that made a lot more sense.

I pre-ordered the N7 collectors edition of Mass Effect 3 and wasn't impressed with the bonuses included. The Day One "From Ashes" DLC should not have been cut since it brings into the canon of Mass Effect more background info on the Protheans, the book that came as a bonus for pre-ordering the N7 collectors edition, "The Art of Mass Effect 3" even suggested that Javik would've been in the actual game, pages 14 and 15 titled "Allies: The Prothean."

The book even talks about TIM and the final boss fight stating on page 20:

One of the plans on the drawing board was to have the Illusive Man turn into a Reaper creature for the final battle. Eventually, this plan was scrapped, since we wanted to give players the satisfaction of fighting a character they know rather than a random creature.

That's a much better explanation of why the plan to make TIM a final boss battle was scrapped than the explanation given in the app, but why didn't the writers write into ME 3 that TIM would've became a Reaper creature so the TIM as a Reaper would NOT be a "random creature"?

Now reading about this app and reading what was included in this app that you need to pay $2.99 to an unrelated third-party person who doesn't even work for BioWare really angers me, it totally angers me that the ending for Mass Effect 3 was apparently intentional and planned, completely angers me that apparently for the ending, the phrase "Lots of speculation for Everyone!" was actually written in the planning documents for the ending, needing to fight TIM as a final boss creature would've been awesome for me, totally angers me that this app has concept art that is only part of this app, actual interviews with BioWare people who worked on Mass Effect, why was this not done for the N7 Collectors Edition of Mass Effect 3?!?!

This really shows that the ball was dropped badly with Mass Effect 3.

Sad sad sad.

I have all three Mass Effect games and am very saddened and angered at how the ending of the trilogy turned out and I'm not too hopeful with the "clarification" DLC BioWare announced for ME 3.
