Guys, it is indeed still possible for the indoctrination theory, I wouldn't say this supports or negates it really, especially since they were actually talking about and considering having your Shepard get indoctrinated in there.

Not saying I'm inclined to believe or disbelieve the theory but just saying this doesn't really affect it at all.

The question is, are we seeing remnants of the idea or the successful implementation of the idea?

Absolutely no frickin' idea!

Off topic, I didn't know Casey is a pilot...that's awesome. As a GA pilot myself, I love finding out that others are also pilots. Anyway...

On topic, sorry fellows at Bioware but this was an exercise of very poor judgement on your part. If you want to follow the metaphor of flying, when you're on a final approach for a landing you don't suddenly decide to see what happens if you forgo what you know will work and try a totally open ended method. Leave that type of experimentation for the test pilots (indie developers?). The end of a transatlantic flight with millions of passengers, this is not the time for experimentation. That's essentially what you did with Mass Effect 3 and...well... you crashed in the water with at least 45,000 casualties and counting.

Q: What did you think of the ending? Is this addressed in the story?
A: I've seen the uproar online about the ending and understand the fan perspective. Personally I respect the creative choices the team made and had no problems with how the story ended -- it made you feel something, even if that feeling was uncomfortable.

That's very.........diplomatic. So he wasn't a great fan of it either then.

Hopes crushed. They actually thought this godchild thing was a good idea.

And yeah... it looks as though this is evidence to disprove the indoctrination theory...

Not at all, see that for example:

"And even in November the gameplay team was still experimenting with an
endgame sequence where players would suddenly lose control of Shepard's
movement and fall under full reaper control. (This sequence was dropped
because the gaemplay mechanic proved too troublesome to implement
alongside dialogue choices). "

So they planned to let Shepard fall under Reapers control. But damint was so badly made it. I bet receaved also pressure from EA and is realated to the departure of Original Writer Drew Karpyshyn. Anyway i dont like it, crappy ending. EA seems to wanted to cancel this project.....?!

I never thought I'll be so damn angry because of a game...

Really, it's hard as hell to stay civil right now.

The "it's too video-gamey" sentiment is just nauseatingly pretentious. "We don't make video games, we make art." Vomit.

I can't believe what I read there. They must have known that most people will be angry about an ending like this. And when I see the word speculation there, man we want closure and not this massive disappointment at the end, we want a feeling like it ME1/2 had. How could they mess this up, its just stupid.

On Deciding the End of the Game
The illusive man boss fight had been scrapped... but there was still much debate. On night walters scribbled down some thought on various ways the game could end with the line "Lots of speculation for Everyone!" at the bottom of the page.

Yes "LOTS OF SPECULATION FROM EVERYONE"

Be careful what you wish for because the only post-mortem speculation here is going to be "Who ruined Mass Effect"

Well they certainly got everyone speculating, debating, and thoerizing. Sounds like that's all they wanted. Guess they think that will make it "unforgetable". Well I never forgot the time my friend got drunk a vomited all over my car seat either. So much for unforgetable.

We speculated with Inception's ending.

With ME3 ending we had anger, insults, and the urge to deny the fact that they f$ucked up the game with that ending by creating a new ending in our minds that could actually explain those 5 minutes.

In other words, we loved Inception's ending and though it was well played, writtend and made. But we all hated M3 ending because it had no sense and it was badly developed.

Here's to hoping they're still just trolling and while the notes with 'lots of speculation' are real, there exist pages after those.

It is a shame this seems to really be the ending they decided upon.

Fans are not speculating about the ending, they are grasping at straws for any chance of the ending not being the end of all life in the galaxy. The end of all the characters they grew to love, the races, the lore. The fans are desperate to save it from extinction.

If anyone at bioware has a heart, more content will be released to expand upon what happend at the end and if giving up Shepards life was worth the end of everything.

Looks like the world of Mass Effect has ended though. It was wild ride, and will be missed.

If this is at all representative of Bioware's development process, I have no hope for future Bioware games.

I highly urge anyone with a SWTOR account to cancel it effective immediately.

Not only is it a boring game but I guarantee the attention paid to it by BW was partially responsible for the mess the ME3 ending became.

I'm probably alone in this (or not), but it seems to me that most of the stuff they cut out...I actually LIKED...

Anderson's final dialogue with Shepard included...

You're not alone, I love Anderson's dialogue and having Shep controlled by the Reapers or watching my teammates get hit by the lazer would've blown my mind.

Me: Wake up Bioware
Bioware: Where are we?
Me: Mass Effect 3's ending. It is my life.
Bioware: We need to fix this. Everyone is pissed. We fear for our lives.
Me: You have three choices. The blue path will let you fix everything. Follow up on the Indoctrination theory that your fans created for you. If you take the green path you can ignore everything, lose 80% of your fanbase and eventually die as the company that ****ed up Mass Effect. Or the red path, where you can try to justify your actions, ultimately fail and die as the company that ****ed up Mass Effect.
Bioware: The only reasonable option seems to be the blue one. Why wouldn't we pick that?
Me: The DLC must be free.
Bioware: NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Muahahahaha, Bioware facing the three choices of death they created for us...i like it.

soon they will create endings to stop people getting upset by endings by creating new endings to stop people getting up set by endings.

It makes perfect sense.

i know right seems to be there favourite pattern so...
