Hey guys, lets make an app that people have to pay for. Maybe they will think there will be something useful in it...but it will just be a big slap in the face to all their theories and then they'll finally stop whining!

Epic Fail Bioware. Epic.

Hopes crushed. They actually thought this godchild thing was a good idea.

And yeah... it looks as though this is evidence to disprove the indoctrination theory...

How??
They had the idea of Shep being indoctrinated, so because they said the mechanics of him 'moving' and still having dialogue choices was hard, means that cutting it removes the indoctrination all together??

I believe this is incorrect and that they just let the player move aroudn as they saw fit.

This.

It's our last hope.

Casey on the End Boss We had the final fight with the Illusive man in the game, but it just felt very Video Gamey. It didnt fit in with the themes. And really, is there a point of the end boss if only for the sake of an end boss?

What we needed was the Harbinger as the end boss.
Up until Arrival, the story was building towards the final confrontation with him.
Or that's how I interpreted the story.

If they have us an epic final battle with Harbinger which tops the fight at the collectors base I would has more sense of accomplishment after finishing the game.  Right now I don't really feel like I have done much despite ending the reaper threat once and for all.

I really wanted to see how TIM would of played out as a final boss. I'm guessing he would of fought you similar to how Grayson was described in the books. A lot stronger than the normal reaper-tech bad guys, yet with his strong "will" to control himself or just the Reapers giving him the illusion of control. Pretty much a smarter version of the Saren boss fight..

Alright peeps listen up carefuly. This is our chance to win the fight not just hold the line

Someone in charge of the whole movement, get this stuff, and publish it, send it every single person you can. Make sure a website or two get a sniff of it as well. This will turn the tide in our favor 100%.

USE IT.

Secondly, I want Mark Walters' head on a plate so I can **** in his mouth. The lead writer along with the project manager ruined the best series ever... You dont deserve nothing from us.

this^

With asinine comments like that in bold, I think people like you don't deserve anything. And it's Mac Walters - if you're going to be uncivil and flip out like that because you're upset about the endings, at least you can get his name right.

Did I mention your name anywhere? Did I imply I give a crap about what you have to say or think about my reaction to the demolishing of 5 years of effort? No I did/do NOT.

Im dead serious I want his head.

You need help.

And perspective.

Seriously, people, stop the melodrama.

Don't like the endings? Fine. Throwing tantrums interlaced with necrophilia? BLOODY INSANE!

I took it metaphorically, like this **** should lose his job. I think he should now... people said that was harsh but no, no no no. You lose your job buddy.

How can so many people in this thread say that this proves the indoctrination theory false when it specifically says...

And even in November the gameplay team was still experimenting with an endgame sequence where players would suddenly lose control of Shepard's movement and fall under full reaper control. (This sequence was dropped because the gaemplay mechanic proved too troublesome to implement alongside dialogue choices).

They were actively experimenting with how they could implement shepard being indoctrinated. This means it is in the plot and Shepard is indeed indoctrinated!!! The question was just how to implement it. IMO they wanted to trick the player because indoctrination is supposed to be subversive rather than wrench control away. So the player still has control (or the illusion of) of Sheps movement etc. The only question in my mind is whether they have already written the rest of the ending or not.

Actively experimenting and DROPPED it, and it was for MECHANIC reasons, thus it was NOT a critical plot point. Further, he lost control of his body, not mind. Probably due to his implants. We now have the base notes and behind the scenes of the ENDING and they specifically state it IS the ending and done so on purpose, thus the rage here. My god grasping at straws has no end.

In this very threat they even state they have NO plans for post-ending DLC, only DLC that takes place before the end. Their INTENT is VERY clear. Stop it. Indoctrination theory is a bust, game over man, game over.

Q: What did you think of the ending? Is this addressed in the story?
A: I've seen the uproar online about the ending and understand the fan perspective. Personally I respect the creative choices the team made and had no problems with how the story ended -- it made you feel something, even if that feeling was uncomfortable.

That's very.........diplomatic. So he wasn't a great fan of it either then.

Oh yes. it makes me feel something, alright. It makes me feel like taking my money elsewhere.

If this is truly what was considered a fitting end to this trilogy, and the next couple days don't prove otherwise, you've lost me as a customer.

I have been a BioWare fanboy, just look under my profile. I have most of your games on more than one platform!

If 'this' is what you thought would leave an impact on your audience, you were right. But the impact is me never touching anything you make ever again.

Looks like they were aiming to make the ending feels like that of the first Matrix. Sorry, but I'm getting a distinctly Matrix Revolutions vibe from ME3's ending (and that is not a good thing).

^what teknoarcanist said

The problem with Comparing this to the Matrix 3 end, I can understand far better the end result and consequences of that, then I can of this.  I only understand the Destroy option and it's consequences, I have still no idea what the end result and consequences of the Control and Synthesis options are, other then "And they don't live happily ever after".

The "it's too video-gamey" sentiment is just nauseatingly pretentious. "We don't make video games, we make art." Vomit.

Yeah, now we know what they think of us video gamers who keep them in a job.

Oh well, back to the ending in my head.  It's much better.  And it's a proper video game ending.  Complete with Boss fight.  And non-teleporting team-mates!  Bioware has had the last penny I'm going to spend on any of their products, and that includes my once-beloved Dragon Age.

Lots of people still in denial with the hold the line thing lol. Eventually youll get to the conclusion that this is the real ending, whenever its terrible or not. The fact is, what ever we say wont change the ending, they wont change the ending, there is no other ending.

You cant get them to change their story, it was never your story. It was like a book where you chose your path. You chose your path you dont write the story yourself, ending included. You didnt like it, go sell it back and never buy bioware products again. The story are their artwork, the end of it sucked, they got to stand by what they done. Petition to change movies ending dont work, to change books ending dont work, to change video game ending wont work either.

And blackjack!  And hookers!

In fact, forget Harbinger!

Sorry, Mac.  Sorry, Casey.  But as much as I loved your previous work, you kinda blew it.

And by blew it, I mean you metaphorically dropped a tactical nuke on the greatest franchise of both your careers.
