Would like for someone to point out to me why the indoctrination theory is off the table.

Uh, the script matches the endings.  There is no mention of idoctrination in the script.  The game tells you outright that you defeated the Reapers no matter the ending.  The epilogue tells you outright that you defeated the Reapers no matter the ending.  They state in this (and in prior interviews) that there will be no DLC that takes place after the ending.  The longer scenes they cut clearly show no indoctrination.  They say they dropped the idea of Reapers taking physical control, which BTW is NOT indoctrination, because TIM takes control of you and Anderson in the script and in the game and you are not indoctrinated.  It's just space magic that break when you kill TIM.

This is it.  These are the endings as they intended them.

Mac, your 'lots of speculation' makes Ron Moore's 'it's the characters, stupid' shower vision start to appear genuinely insightful.

Just got back from trading in one of my two copies. I bought The Witcher 2; should be OK. First copy will remain here for a few weeks as I watch BioWare's reaction and gauge their willingness to fix this colossal mistake of theirs.

Regardless, I won't be picking up TOR as I had planned on doing this weekend and if I do decide to try out Dragon Age I won't be supporting the company with a purchase.

Lots of people still in denial with the hold the line thing lol. Eventually youll get to the conclusion that this is the real ending, whenever its terrible or not. The fact is, what ever we say wont change the ending, they wont change the ending, there is no other ending.

You cant get them to change their story, it was never your story. It was like a book where you chose your path. You chose your path you dont write the story yourself, ending included. You didnt like it, go sell it back and never buy bioware products again. The story are their artwork, the end of it sucked, they got to stand by what they done. Petition to change movies ending dont work, to change books ending dont work, to change video game ending wont work either.

nope it worked with movie version of Da Vinci Code where critics influenced and let Dan Brown correct some important things in the movie.

It worked also for example with The Abyss where huge cuts, was made by producers, noted holes by fans, and years later director buy rights and released an integral versions. It work also on some DVD or Blu-Ray productions when they place alternate ending for this reason too !!!

It sounds crappy and stupid, wipe out interaction where was most born it: RPG computer games ! You will just make angry your PAYING CUSTOMERS !!

I think the ending is a moot point now...
you can either throw a hail mary which gets caught in the endzone,
or you can put out a humble statement w/ the truth of the matter,
or you can stick by your guns
...either way you kill off alot of fans.

This feels like seeing some of the behind the scenes stuff of Star Wars Episode 1.

Too bad you can't see the one guy in the corner with the look on his face of "Oh s**t...no one is listening to me....this is going to fail so hard."

Idk, i don't think this completely destroys the indoctrination theory. We only see some of the notes.

But on a different note, Is it just me? Or does it look like Hudson said no to a lot of ideas from the Designers/Writers? That didn't sound all that bad?

У меня нет цензурных слов, чтобы откомментировать этот пост. <renegade mode on> Я просто очень хочу иметь Каин, чтобы взорвать к чертям собачьим вашу студию! </renegade mode off>
Я больше никогда не куплю продукцию вашей студии. И надеюсь таких как я будет достаточно много, чтобы вы задумались о том, стоит ли издеваться над фанатами.

Guess they never fix their endings.

They made it beautifully in DA:O, but in DA2 left a cliffhanger .
And now..this? Whats going on?

And why does someone say the indoctrinationtheory still doesn´t count?

I don't believe this. They actually sabotaged the ending on purpose.

I feel sick.

All hope = lost. This is like playing the ending all over again.

I just love how they thought they were creating an endig that blew everyones mind and was "controversial",and now they are all so surprised that all that ending did was ****** people off.

Damn it Bioware, i trusted you.

Wow.... I'm honestly at a loss after reading all of that. I feel sick to my stomach. I know they won't care, and I'm sure they probably aren't even reading this, but BioWare has likely lost a customer who has LOVED the games they've made. But after Dragon Age 2, and now this... I just don't know if I have it in me to deal with more disappointment from their games.

I know from what I've read on here DA2 was bad and this is actually worse but am I the only one that finds it physically impossible for ANYBODY to be so  stupid as to not only make another bad ending...but to make it worse then the first bad ending you made this has to be an elaborate troll attempt on their part. The cryptic tweets, their saying they made the ending intentionally bad, all the in-game evidence of there being more to it? They have to be trolling us

Save yourself the money and don't get SWTOR. It's great for like a week, but has no endgame at all. And last time I was on the servers were dying so it was only getting worse.

I really don't see how this negate the indoctrination theory. The ending still is open ended and made for speculation. If they were doing surprise dlc ending, why would they tell you about it in a making of article?

So wait, this wasn't a rushed or incomplete ending? People thought this really was a good idea? That this was the way for characters built up for five years should go out?

::headdesk::

The funny part is: I'm not mad.
Not even a bit.

I'm calm.

And laughing.

Because we're just doing what BW wanted. They wanted to give us a huge puzzle, maybe one of the biggest of gaming history. I don't feel offended or something - just ... dunno.
No one says "indoctrination theory is wrong" or "Shepard is not dreaming the finale" ... no one says that.
And I can live with that, since it gives us hope we're still right. It simply does mean BW didn't tell us the truth today, but it doesn't mean they won't do it tomorrow.

So ... no need for being upset for me.

Look forward to reading through this, though it seems like a pretty big app/book. Hopefully it's got more answers to it than just 'we dun goofed'. I'm not willing to give up on the 'Indoctrination Theory' until it's all been laid out for me. =P
