Do they think they're Christopher Nolan or something? God... so many gamers have been criticizing Bioware's storytelling abilities for years, and I've defended them, but after DA2, SWTOR, and now ME3's ending, I just CAN'T anymore. This was just hackish.

What a fascinating train wreck this is turning out to be.

So instead of a cool final boss.... we get Marauder...
Don't disrespect Mr. Shields. He bravely tried to save us all from this abomination.

Ebay here I come.
If someone is stupid enough to buy them that is.
If they don't sell, can always kill them with fire.
That would make me pretty happy too.
Afterall that's what the writers did to this series.

Would like for someone to point out to me why the indoctrination theory is off the table.
Prothean VI on Thessia( later on Illusive Man base too) can sense indoctrination, never points out any indoctrination on Shepard.
that's because he wasn't indoctrinated yet

He thought the conversation with Anderson was going to be too long? WTF is this a movie? Are they now capped on how long a game can be?
Or it means that people couldn't come to an agreement and scrapped the idea.
Time to fnish game > time of people debating on what to do.
I agree with you though, I don't recall anyone ever complaining about a game lasting too long unless the game was boring.

Starting?
I've been practically a wreck since Saturday because I was this disappointed and depressed over one of my favorite videogame series of all time.

Mac, your 'lots of speculation' makes Ron Moore's 'it's the characters, stupid' shower vision start to appear genuinely insightful.
Just got back from trading in one of my two copies. I bought The Witcher 2; should be OK. First copy will remain here for a few weeks as I watch BioWare's reaction and gauge their willingness to fix this colossal mistake of theirs.
Regardless, I won't be picking up TOR as I had planned on doing this weekend and if I do decide to try out Dragon Age I won't be supporting the company with a purchase.
Save yourself the money and don't get SWTOR. It's great for like a week, but has no endgame at all. And last time I was on the servers were dying so it was only getting worse.
Wow, JeffZero returning the game. These are dark days indeed.
Well, one of them, anyway. We'll see what happens to the second copy.
Thank god TOR is dying.

They broke a simple rule in Creative Writing 101. When finishing a story, simply finish it.
Instead of going with the correct ending or the right ending, they wanted to be flashy. That's a case of the writer bending the story to his/her will instead of simply allowing it to work itself out.
This was talked about in the "writers' opinions" thread.
"Simply finish the story." Or, "Let the story finish itself."
Stephen King once said, "It is the story, not he who tels it." [paraphrasing]
Yeah, I'm a writer myself, and finishing the story is more important than what they thought was a great idea. <_<
Exactly ... I am ameteur and I know this.... I just can't
really right know my brain is having trouble grasping that they though this was good.

There were Prothean sleeper agents that causes the collapse for Protheans, that were never detected.

I know from what I've read on here DA2 was bad and this is actually worse but am I the only one that finds it physically impossible for ANYBODY to be so stupid as to not only make another bad ending...but to make it worse then the first bad ending you made this has to be an elaborate troll attempt on their part. The cryptic tweets, their saying they made the ending intentionally bad, all the in-game evidence of there being more to it? They have to be trolling us
Yeah - either they are megatrolling us, or they are the dumb and dumber of the video game, sorry, art world! It's like they're deliberately trying to flush their reputation and company down the nearest toilet.
Could it be one vast, sick publicity stunt?
