So instead of a cool final boss.... we get Marauder...

Don't disrespect Mr. Shields. He bravely tried to save us all from this abomination.

His name was Marauder Shields. Don't you ever forget that.

Also, yeah, you had your artistic fun and botched your glorified Starbucks-fueled plan, BioWare.

Fix this.

Too video-gamey? Well I hate too tell them this, but they accidentally got "video-game" in the other 99% of the series.

"Hey guys, wouldn't it be wonderful, if at the last minute, we take everything this game has been about (Standing up for something, making hard choices, sacrifice) and throw it out the window? Star-child should make up for all of that. Right?"

I still can't believe this. They have to be lying or trolling or something, and putting out the ending at a later date. This is just... What.

Good luck selling future titles Bioware because most of the fanbase just said Kiss My Ass! and will be boycotting you like someone with plague.

Enjoy yourselves contemplating that.

Not me.  Not yet.  I'm going to let them respond.  Depending on that it'll either be "new ending coming!" or "that's it, deal!" and that is when I will make my decision.

I am at that point my self. I know it's dumb to hang on that long but this is where I'm standing now.

Remember, these are the great minds you're begging and pressuring to come up with a better ending.

If they had a better ending in them, it would have been in the game.

Would like for someone to point out to me why the indoctrination theory is off the table.

Prothean VI on Thessia( later on Illusive Man base too) can sense indoctrination, never points out any indoctrination on Shepard.

that's because he wasn't indoctrinated yet

Indoctrination takes few days at least.

From Illusive Man base to final battle it shouldn't take more then 1-2 days.

And since Shepard is very strong will person, it should really long time to indoctrinate him/her.
Hell, it too k decades for Saren and Illusive Man and they had Reaper implants in them.

Wow, JeffZero returning the game. These are dark days indeed.

Well, one of them, anyway. We'll see what happens to the second copy. Image IPB

Yes, I suppose there's still some slim chance that all this talk of "keeping your saves" and "if you knew what we had planned" will amount to something epic (and that might provide some closure). Til then, I've got a biotic and an engineer to get through three games....

''Lots of speculation'' ''Polarizing''

LOOK AT THE POLLS AND STOP TALKING OUT YOUR ASS. If it was 60:40 yes maybe that polarizing. 90:10 is not.

Let's look at Mass Effect Shepard's eyes - the main character.

Assuming that he dies - making the ultimate sacrifice for the cause - you never know what happened next. There will be an epilogue, he will not see his friends, nor the future of the galaxy. For Shepard it's over. And for us too.

If you recognize ME as actionRPG - is part of the Role - to put ourselves in character - has been fully preserved. The final decision does not apply to Shepard. And it does not necessarily have to be perfect from the perspective of races of the galaxy.

As Shepard for 3 games at the end we must to accept with the fact that some answers will not be revield , not all will save, there will not be no happy ending. No matter how much we try and how much we put into the effort- one man can not save everyone.

End this conclusion leads to: you did a lot - but it does not matter - because the real finale takes place on an entirely different level.

And in fact, I understand the philosophy. Think how taking on board the Normandy, a reporter would, even in a small way change the tide of battle with the Reapers? Is leading these dialogues, resolving minor disputes between civilians in the Citadel didn't you feel that in fact it does not matter? That scale galactic war in at least 37 million years does it matter which race survives and which dies or is jit ust a detail?

Not to say that I like the ending - but understand it.

Does anyone else feel insulted that we were expected to pay to find out this information?!

This is a supplemental "making of" kind of thing that you really don't see with other series. I don't see the problem with it being something someone sells.

I actually like the book. Loads of video intereviews, some mini games, over 15,000 words of text. Remember I just picked these excerpts cause they addressed the question I had of WHAT THE HELL WAS GOING ON IN THEIR HEADS WHEN THEY DECIDED TO GIVE ME AN ENDING LIKE THIS.

Yup, exactly as I figured. Sucks, but at least I was prepared for it.

Maybe we'll still get that postgame DLC despite it all, though.

Are you going to buy the DLC?

PEOPLE!
No matter how this news makes you feel, PLEASE remember why you joined Retake Mass Effect. Because we felt cheated getting only one ending. We didn't get closure. Everything was left open to speculation. It was a kick in the teeth after hundreds of gameplay hours.

AND THIS HAS NOT CHANGED! I too feel like shelving my Mass Effect series for good and distancing myself from Bioware. But we must continue to stand firm so this will never happen again!

HOLD THE LINE.

atleast their is some good that comes out of our disapointment, But I still always have hope..

HOLD THE LINE UNTIL WE ALL FALL!!!

rage dont you?

But we will hold the line till we have a right ending!

Translation: we will continue our emotional blackmail of BioWare and deny them their right to express themselves. BioWare owns the story, NOT you. They gave you a well-branched out story. You got to choose the version that you see. Your line is broken. And it will stay broken no matter how many gaps you try to fill because you do NOT own a share of BioWare. You just bought their product, so that doesn't mean that you suddenly have rights to the story.

Capitalism is a **** sometimes, isn't it?

Here it is told that your teammates bodies lie nearby when you wake up. For me, they, and I'm very happy about this, didn't. They entered the Normandy somehow and escaped with Joker and exited the Ship after it crashed (Which is one of biggest holes in the games plot) . Could you actually influence if they die or not?

i've been playing me since it ever came out. I never once been here, but i think the developers deserve to know how BAD the ending is.

i'm surprised people have somehow managed to put it into words, i think it's just simpler to say what's right with it? which is what? nothing?.

damn it bioware, damn it. we did everything for you, we didn't deserve this.

Just a random thought: if the Child's Play charity gets video games to kids in hospitals to make them feel a bit better, let's hope to God they don't get them ME3 - that would turn the sad kids suicidal...

After reading OP..I'm speechless. I can only say that in other companies people are fired for such incompetence in product developing and poor market analysis.

Oh Mr. Shields, if only you fired faster and more often.

But this, I swear they ended an interview with "We don't want a LOST type ending", yet here we are..
Oh and what kind of RPG writer can sit back and say "Yeah, less dialogue and less information on the game is more"..

I mean.. Just I am left speechless.
I just can't believe this was actually meant to be the ending..
No one wanted to speculate, absolutely no one, if offered an ending with closure and nearly all questions answered people would choose it over an ending which left you speculating! This is just bad.

My faith is slipping.
Oh and as someone said before me "I don't care what you planned, fix it." sounds about right.

Funny thing is Walters and Hudson probably wanted this app to boost their egos, and their celebrity status as premiere artistes.

All it did is draw the rage right into their faces.

Aw this is bull****!!! Bioware what the flying **** were you thinking with this. Did you really think we would accept such a poor ending to the series? You may have just killed your own company, thank your writers for that.

Ruining such an amazing trilogy should be a crime

Well at least we now know who was responsible for the unholy mess of an ending. Casey Hudson and Mac Walters...watch for these names in the future and avoid anything they are even remotely associated with either from Bioware or where ever these two muppets end up after Bioware implodes into the Singularly they have just cast on themselves.
