nope it worked with movie version of Da Vinci Code where critics influenced and let Dan Brown correct some important things in the movie.Smeffects wrote...
Lots of people still in denial with the hold the line thing lol. Eventually youll get to the conclusion that this is the real ending, whenever its terrible or not. The fact is, what ever we say wont change the ending, they wont change the ending, there is no other ending.
You cant get them to change their story, it was never your story. It was like a book where you chose your path. You chose your path you dont write the story yourself, ending included. You didnt like it, go sell it back and never buy bioware products again. The story are their artwork, the end of it sucked, they got to stand by what they done. Petition to change movies ending dont work, to change books ending dont work, to change video game ending wont work either.
It worked also for example with The Abyss where huge cuts, was made by producers, noted holes by fans, and years later director buy rights and released an integral versions. It work also on some DVD or Blu-Ray productions when they place alternate ending for this reason too !!!
It sounds crappy and stupid, wipe out interaction where was most born it: RPG computer games ! You will just make angry your PAYING CUSTOMERS !!
It worked because those were already written story. They were changed to reflect the original story, with footage that already existed. This ending is the original mass effect ending. No retcon happened to make it a video game, it was just bad period. Hell this app is a testement to that very fact. Even with the delete scene this ending is still idiotic, with plotholes, space magic. You cant ask them to go back to the original ending, this is the original ending.
It wont be changed just stop trying. It would be stupid to cange now ayway. You got your alternete ending they are in that app, they still sucked. They had no idea how to end it. Just stop supporting this **** hole of a company and you life will be easier from now on. Dont be sad or in denial because you want this cheap money invesment not to be a waste. It was a waste and its ok, in your life time it will be meaningless. Just let it go and go play other video games or just do something else. You will all forget this mess soon enough.

So wait, this wasn't a rushed or incomplete ending? People thought this really was a good idea? That this was the way for characters built up for five years should go out?

The funny part is: I'm not mad.
Not even a bit.
I'm calm.
And laughing.
Because we're just doing what BW wanted. They wanted to give us a huge puzzle, maybe one of the biggest of gaming history. I don't feel offended or something - just ... dunno.
No one says "indoctrination theory is wrong" or "Shepard is not dreaming the finale" ... no one says that.
And I can live with that, since it gives us hope we're still right. It simply does mean BW didn't tell us the truth today, but it doesn't mean they won't do it tomorrow.
So ... no need for being upset for me.
Puzzles have answers. Here they apparantly just threw a lot of junk at us and said "Come up with something on your own" They didn't even try, it seems.
I guess from a certain point of view that makes "wildly divergent endings" a legitimate claim, as everyone has to headcannon their own...
Yes, I'm upset. Because Bioware used to be better than this. I mourn for what they used to be. This ending makes DA2's look like creative genius in comparison.

It maxes out at the end of the story...anyone who knows how a story is written knows that the resolution is the crucial part of an ending, which is where the narrative brings the viewer/reader down from this point.

That entire resolution section is just absent from your story, BioWare.
Kid stuff.

When I read this, I literally think of someone in front of a desk in the dead of night, deadline looming, scratching their head as they try to piece together some kind of ending. And then an epipheny hits.
Speculation for everyone.
Of course! It's genius! Why worry too hard about actually writing anything when people can enjoy filling in the blanks themselves!
Last I heard, Bioware was a Choose-Your-Own-Adventure, not Connect-The-Dots. At least, that's what I thought, until I realized they're actually an Etch A Sketch. "This ending displeases me." *Shakes furiously*

" Ultimately your opinion on the ending will depend on who you see as the "author" of Mass Effect's story -- BioWare or the player."
Yes. They are both the authors. It's up to Bioware to give the freedom of the player choice within the constraint of their development box. They failed.

I feel so much better after cancelling SWTOR. There is no coming back from this now BioWare.
Saying bye to my SWTOR sub as well. Maybe I'll change my mind if this gets fixed...but that's looking pretty unlikely at this point.

Wait, wait, wait. If Bioware has absolutely no intentions of changing the ending then why did they tweet a while back that they were going to "hold on to their saves"? I'm in a glass cage of emotion!!!
Because it was PR talk and, as we can see, they feel proud of their work.
So...yeah. They can fix this even if it wasn't in their plan, but at least know we know what the plan was.
And it was, and continues to be, ****ing awful.

BioWare, we didn't want any more mystery! We wanted things set in stone! We wanted to see that everything we did mattered! Not this!

LOOK AT THE POLLS AND STOP TALKING OUT YOUR ASS. If it was 60:40 yes maybe that's polarizing. 90:10 is not.

Instead of pulling back, you went full throtal with this brilliant new idea of how to end the series.
This is the result.
Stick to what you know and what you're fans are wanting.
