Well, I think my desire to not get any DLC remains in tacked. And it does make me feel better that if they decide to release a new end, it's not an intentional thing (as in they didn't intentionally give us a bad ending to sell us a good one). They thought that this end would work, and it has for some, but it really needs more closure. And there were lots of ways to do that without removing all forms of mystery.

And it still feels like the ending of 2001: A Space Odyssey places on to the end of Star Wars.

Cheez. I'll definitely join in on that and help out however I can.

And everyone: I've seen people talking about down voting Mass Effect 3 on places like Amazon. Don't. Leave it alone. I want more people to play the game and see how absolutely terrible the ending of it is, and join us.

Sad and true :(

They really though that those endings where good?

I understand that some people actually like the endings, good for them, but i personally think that the ¨color choice¨ is not Mass Effect worthy.

I don't have a problem with people who like the endings. Good for them.
But yes, like everyone else who hates the endings I also feel that the endings don't do Mass Effect (as a whole) any justice. No closure, nothing. Just more questions; which by the way if there's anything I learned in college it's that a conclusion should never introduce new ideas and it should wrap up the entire thing.

I was wondering where the "Behind the Scenes" content that should have come with the Collector's Edition went.

Come to think of it, they didn't even have it in ME2, they did for the first one. I wonder what happened...

This is a supplemental "making of" kind of thing that you really don't see with other series. I don't see the problem with it being something someone sells.

I actually like the book. Loads of video intereviews, some mini games, over 15,000 words of text. Remember I just picked these excerpts cause they addressed the question I had of WHAT THE HELL WAS GOING ON IN THEIR HEADS WHEN THEY DECIDED TO GIVE ME AN ENDING LIKE THIS.

so this wasn't in anorexic collector's edition why?  oh you didn't see the backlash coming and thought everyone was gonna run to gobble it right up...

I'm giving the devs 28 days to announce a postgame DLC. Four weeks. It's much easier to hang onto the game than go out and buy it again should such a thing come to pass.

They sure as hell clearly had no plans to make any postgame DLC before but there's a slim chance the outpouring of ending negativity has altered that stance. And I've been part of too many successful campaigns (and really, you only ever need to have been part of one to feel this way) to turn in all my chips so quickly.

Have I told you lately you're awesome? Just checking.

I'm not returning my copy, but will it be a while before I have the heart to get the discs out of their cases again? Yeah. Most definitely.

Can I speculate that Jennifer Helper is a nice person and could have written a near-infinitely better ending for ME3 than the one we got?

Casey on after Mass Effect 3
"Whatever we do would likely happen before or during the events of Mass Effect 3, not after"

On Deciding the End of the Game
The illusive man boss fight had been scrapped... but there was still much debate. 'One night walters scribbled down some thought on various ways the game could end with the line "Lots of speculation for Everyone!" at the bottom of the page.'

In truth the final bits of dialogue were debated right up until the end of 2011. Martin sheen's voice-over session for the illusive man, originally scheduled for August, was delayed until mid-November so the writers would have more time to finesse the ending.

And even in November the gameplay team was still experimenting with an endgame sequence where players would suddenly lose control of Shepard's movement and fall under full reaper control. (This sequence was dropped because the gaemplay mechanic proved too troublesome to implement alongside dialogue choices).

So from this... the ending is likely to not change, and it was deemed more important to finish the game with speculation instead of giving actual closure to the game. And basically indoctrination was going to happen. This makes me feel like the indoctrination theory is still valid and that they just didn't implement the loss of control. Sigh. I don't know... I was really hoping they'd fix the ending somehow or add onto it.

First off they had TIM control you instead.  It's in the friggin' game and in the script.  And it's not indoctrination.  It's some bizarre space magic, which is why Anderson and Shep can talk through it.  TIM just controls their bodies.  Shepard is never indoctrinated.

Our best ally in all this is perhaps EA, if the asian gamers react like i think they will ( worse than the reaction to NGE ending ), it's possible that EA will put some pressure on BW to fix all this mess.

Often thrown (sometimes unfairly) at hapless managers : "You don't know what you're doing!"

I suspect, if this documentary is solid and is the actual process, and final game.

I fought tooth and nail to get my CE, no thanks to GAME's **** up. I waited for so long to get the game, then I finished it and wondered wtf just happened. Then I come here and see all this. And Bioware has the cheek to say "We're listening to fan feedback" and stuff like that. Hell of a thing.

I was going to go with that, but I figured someone would take it as a personal attack.

Went crazy trying to secure a new CE after GAME's freak-out. Complete waste of time now... and now I feel GAME were right!

Ok, fair points people. Again, it's just me. I've never had a problem with final bosses.

Actually I have to agree with you. I think the lack of an end boss fight was really something BW could've done to make the game better. End bosses are always about that last hurdle before getting to the ending, and this is always where the hero is tested to the limit of his ability. Given the context, I think an end boss is very appropriate. There is no end boss just for the sake of end boss.

In addition, its not like BW needs to invent a new character just for the final boss. There were two bosses from ME2, TIM and Harbinger, which neither were fought against in ME3. Harbinger got a 10 seconds air time, and TIM got a quick death. The conversation between TIM, Shepard, and Anderson was very fitting indeed, but I really expected more.

BW could've made an end boss fight like how ME has done. TIM could be transformed like the one depicted in the art book, or that we can fight Harbinger in the same way as the one on Rannoch.

Lots of people still in denial with the hold the line thing lol. Eventually youll get to the conclusion that this is the real ending, whenever its terrible or not. The fact is, what ever we say wont change the ending, they wont change the ending, there is no other ending.

You cant get them to change their story, it was never your story. It was like a book where you chose your path. You chose your path you dont write the story yourself, ending included. You didnt like it, go sell it back and never buy bioware products again. The story are their artwork, the end of it sucked, they got to stand by what they done. Petition to change movies ending dont work, to change books ending dont work, to change video game ending wont work either.

This logic is so stupid. Most people have spent around 180 for these games, invested emotionally in characters and this is how it is? The book and movie logic is flawed. we have not invested much in them as this series

Thats the thing you have invested time. But you havent invented anything in the series. Did you ever play book where "you are the hero". Mass effect is exactly that. None of us created anything about this game. We took the paths bioware invented for a story. It was their story all along, its not because you can chose paths that something is yours. No one owes us anything. The ending sucked, they made the ending, its theirs. I dont want a new ending or an ending i made, i want them to close shop.

Dont buy their crap and we will all live happily ever after. Bioware simply are not good at writting anything correctly anymore. Why would you trust them with yet another ending to write and its gona be even more complex for them they have to make it connect to an already terribly writen ending and not make it look like a joke (ALL A DREAM ALL ALONG!) We already know its not a dream anyway. No real ending remake dlc, just stop supporting them jesus christ. Stop giving them cash to feed you crap like this.
