I have to agree with this. I didnt need an end boss to the game. The fact that I am about to sacrifice myself to save millions, if not trillions, of beings is way better than defeating any boss.
Ok, fair points people. Again, it's just me. I've never had a problem with final bosses.

Finding out The Truth about the ending is almost as bad as the ending itself.

From his website: http://www.me3finalhours.com/Q: What did you think of the ending? Is this addressed in the story?
A: I've seen the uproar online about the ending and understand the fan perspective. Personally I respect the creative choices the team made and had no problems with how the story ended -- it made you feel something, even if that feeling was uncomfortable.
The Final Hours addresses the challenges BioWare faces in writing a story with defined parameters in a game environment where players want to feel like they have choice. Ultimately your opinion on the ending will depend on who you see as the "author" of Mass Effect's story -- BioWare or the player.
The ending of the game is discussed in the App and there are some notes from the team about how they were thinking about the ending. Since this story was completed before the public release of the game, I do not address the fan petitions or reaction. I hope to update the story with a new chapter on this down the road.
People can think whatever they want of course but that doesn't make it any less annoying to hear people say the ending was good because it "makes you feel something".
It pulled me right the **** out of the game, what I felt was disappointment. That's just ****ty.
I mean I get it, that's not what he felt but ****.

Casey on after Mass Effect 3
"Whatever we do would likely happen before or during the events of Mass Effect 3, not after"
Knowing that anything you do inevitably leads to such an ugly, unsatisfying ending riddled with plot holes, does anyone really want to play future games that take place before or during ME3?

There's a time and place for "lots of speculation", and it absolutely isn't at the very end of a three-part trilogy.

And even in November the gameplay team was still experimenting with an
endgame sequence where players would suddenly lose control of Shepard's
movement and fall under full reaper control. (This sequence was dropped
because the gaemplay mechanic proved too troublesome to implement
alongside dialogue choices).
Found that part interesting.

Casey's quotes shatter hope for a proper ending.
I disagree. Sure, it highlights the disconnect between Bioware and the players and showcases how badly they missed.
So who's to say they won't own up to it and try to fix it somehow?
I feel better knowing they planned what they gave us rather than some BS about a trick ending, etc...
They've lost me, but can win me back:
Acknowledge the miss
Do your best to fix.

Notice how in the end it says "add more and update" the application.
Truly I was getting worried with all this BUY THIS THING GET DLC WITH IT route that was going on, but truly seeing as though the ap is $3 and the fact that developer interviews or anything came with the collectors edition is just a slap to the face, on top of ending the game with a dialogue box saying "play more by getting DLC" I think Bioware has finally let the dollar speak louder then their words.

Also seeing your squadmates die during the final charge would have been great (in that horrible, horrible, soul crushing kind of way).

Yes. They are both the authors. It's up to Bioware to give the freedom of the player choice within the constraint of their development box. They failed.

Well, that's about it for me. They chose to end the game vaguely to create speculation. I truly hope they understand that what they've actually done is jettison a decent portion of their fanbase off into space. All this information does is make me sick, so I'm going to have to stop paying attention now.
Sorry Bioware, but if you have so little respect for your fans, I don't think I want to be one anymore.
This isn't just jettisoning a decent portion of the fanbase. This is alienating most of the CORE of Bioware's support.
These are the people who bought Baldur's Gate and loved it. Those people subsequently bought Neverwinter Nights, Jade Empire, Kotor, ME 1-2, and DA:O. Who bought the random comics, books, figures, etc etc.
I figured DA2's ending and production was just a side effect of rushed production but maybe they really have jumped the shark.
