we may of lost hope in the indoctrination theory people that does not mean we still cant turn this around.

HOLD THE LINE people HOLD THE DAMNED LINE.

do not waver, do not despair

just HOLD THE LINE.

I want to. I really, really want to. I just....I am losing strength. Really, after days of fan outrage and reaction, being trashed and namecalled and flamed and told 'Thanks for your feedback' and 'We are listening'.....They post these 'insights', and STILL have not posted even a simple acknowledgement that something is wrong with their product....

The line wavers....

Casey on after Mass Effect 3
"Whatever we do would likely happen before or during the events of Mass Effect 3, not after"

Knowing that anything you do inevitably leads to such an ugly, unsatisfying ending riddled with plot holes, would anyone want to play future games that take place before or during ME3?

Yep this. I don't want to replay any of the current games because of the endings. Why would i want to pay for anything before the dog turd of an ending.

That the words the Matrix actually are in the notes is stunningly sad.

And, yes, BW let's not add 5 minutes to better wrap up a trilogy that lasts almost 100 hours. The fans surely wouldn't have the patience for that.

What makes me bitter is that I assume we can expect some sort of flowery post from Casey or Mac at some point explaining how the ending isn't terrible, and how actually the Normandy is fine and everyone will hold hands and be happy. How we "just don't get it".

I don't need a boss fight...I just wanted to know what the **** happened.

But I guess I just "don't need to know that." How stupid of me for thinking it's worthwhile to know a story's conclusion.

On Deciding the End of the Game
The illusive man boss fight had been scrapped... but there was still much debate. On night walters scribbled down some thought on various ways the game could end with the line "Lots of speculation for Everyone!" at the bottom of the page.

Regardless of whether or not they planned to withhold the ending until after a global release, or whether or not they legitimately felt that Space Magic was a good idea ... we really don't know for sure yet.

It's important to stay strong and don't fret.

And even in November the gameplay team was still experimenting with an
endgame sequence where players would suddenly lose control of Shepard's
movement and fall under full reaper control. (This sequence was dropped
because the gaemplay mechanic proved too troublesome to implement
alongside dialogue choices).

Found that part interesting.

I also found this interesting, it may not be out of the loop seeing as though what better way to make people think they're in control by having them control the person. Bioshock anyone?

So let me get this straight

Mac Walters and professional writer, working for a multi-million dollar business that writes stories for a living. This man thought it would a be good idea... to add The Catalyst something that we the players have not even heard till this game at the very end. Then when it comes to revealing the nature of this very character... he and his team make the choice to cut the information... all base on a "The player does not need to know "

*twitch*

So Casey Hudson - gets the absolutely brilliant notion that cut the confrontation between the Protagonist(Shepard) and the Big Bad( Harbinger) because it was be to video gamey.. Video game in video game...

*twitch*

The Gaming media then has the audacity to treat this like its brilliant thought provoking writing...

Y'know... just when I had started to become comfortable with the fact that hated ME3's ending, (which is not the same thing as accepting it or getting over it) they had to rub this salt in the wound. How can someone be so detached from a fanbase they've been catering to for years. We were supposed to find this incredible? REALLY?

Acknowledge the miss
Do your best to fix.

I really just had to quote this. I agree 100%. It is so, SO much better that Bioware simply screwed up rather than making some elaborate scheme to cash in. One is human nature, the other is vile greed.

That's the only part that gave me the strength needed right now to continue holding onto the Indoctrination Theory.

What were you hoping for after this?

And sadly it originally was intended to be a pun.

Ha, guess what, the indoctrination theory is as good as ever because this is it. This is an intentionally ****ty ending exactly so people will pick it apart, grasp at straws and try to come up with farfetched theories to make all the stupid go away.
Only they hoped people wouldn't notice the stupid.

In the final version (which is shown beside the deleted scenes video.) the body of your team mates are on the floor dead instead.

 lul what? The "body" of Kaidan in my playthrough seemed to have been picked by Normandy which then started FTLing for no reason and got reviewed just in time to step out of the Normandy (in casual clothes at that!) after the crash.

This is BS, none of this makes any sense

Now I'm sure they are reading the boards laughing. Way to go Bioware, Baldur's gate 2 made me love you guys. Why couldn't they have done the Baldur's gate 2 (final) ending? Is that so hard? Artwork with short stories about what happened to everyone.

This is, no exaggeration, Daikatana-level decisionmaking. Reading that is like watching film of the last few seconds before a school bus full of kids plunges off a bridge at top speed and explodes for no adquately-explored reason.

I think it's cute that he wrote "end of first matrix" on his sheet, clearly hoping that's how his game would end, and it actually ended more like the end of the LAST matrix. At least he had the right IDEA... it's just amazing how badly they failed to execute that idea.

I too like the idea of ending the game with a "brave new world" and leaving some room for speculation, but they went toooooo far. And I didn't get the sense we were heading into a "brave new world" as much as a "brave technologically screwed world" which isn't quite the same thing.

I really wonder why content creators like the idea of leaving room for speculation so much. I get that in this case they probably wanted the player to be able to fill in some of the blanks on his own to further personalize the experience. But c'mon man... this is too many blanks.

Sounds like a lot of it was Casey's fault. Should've just let the writers do their thing.
