Ok, the forums are now unlocked and people can post again.
TO BE CLEAR:
The app in question was created by Geoff Keighley of Gametrailers. It was made from materials he collected, with support from BioWare, in the weeks before Mass Effect 3 is launched. This app is NOT BioWare's "official response about the endings of the game", or similar. We will be addressing the endings in the future as I have indicated in this thread.
You are welcome to discuss this app and it's content, but please foolow the site rules when you post. We do not allow swearing, fighting or abuse of staff, moderators or our company.
Mr. Priestly. I understand that this isn't your fault and that you're burdened with handling many upset fans but I must point out that we're not upset over who made the app, or how it was made.
We know it's not an "official response."
But what this app tells us is that BioWare planned these endings all along, that they always meant to break their promises, that they thought it was a good idea to take away all of our choice in the ending and leave us with some nonsensical mess.
It takes away our hope, and shows that any official response will be along the lines of "It's what we intended, deal with it.". That is why we're upset.

I think the line "you [loyal fans who grew to love this setting and characters] don't need answers to mass effect universe" just killed my hope in Bioware completely
That and "LOTS OF SPECULATION FOR EVERYONE" when we were promised closure.

Hope again anyone?![]()
It's all we've got at this point
I dont think so, that ship sailed for me.
Think about it, if they had all this time to make up and ending - and somehow changed it, after Geoff got this data.
Well....agian, if this ending is the product of months of planning....oh god, I cant go on.
It hurts to much :/

Be sad, be dissapointed, give good criticism for them if they do decide to go back and revise the ending, but raging at people who gave something an honest try is really bad form, regardless of whether they failed.

I am quoting this post because it needs to be seen. This is so important, and at least in this case, it seems to be being missed. "It's not the app, its what it means!"

I'm just happy that Chris said it's not bioware's stance on the ending, I still have hope!
He said it's not their official stance because they haven't made one yet.
But what do you expect to happen? This is the ending they intended. There's no real ending coming. At worst they'll say deal with it. At best they'll make a half-hearted apology.
But this changes nothing. The endings remain. Mass Effect is lost.

Where was this said?
I'm on the verge of giving up. I don't do that.
Show me this quote from Chris,
give me back some hope.

The fact that they dont support the app doesnt chance a bloody thing about its contents. The contents within are still the ACTUAL notes of Biowares writers about the ending.

At least you have achieved your goal, this ending WILL be remembered, but certainly not for the reasons you wanted.
Do you know who John Romero is? I hope you share his fate...

+1
Everyone makes mistakes. This just happens to be a big one. Lets keep it civil and organized and make sure Bioware know what we want(Which they obviously do).

He said no such thing. He just said they didn't release the app not that what is in it is lies. The interviews, cut scenes and images are real.

Although, they're not crazy enough to go through with it, it's just the villains' driving force; although even that is still weak.
Examples, Final Fantasy XIII's plot, Resident Evil 5's plot, Naruto, etc.
It's just a theme I've noticed over the last few years.
You can all yell at me now.
