It seriously blows my mind how anyone on this earth would think "yeah, that's a good idea."
The almost universal dislike and displeasure at the endings is overwhelming.

Really if you think about it the timing of this app release is so terrible that it's comical. It's like tossing a torch into a dry room full of sawdust gunpowder and gasoline.
That fact that it costs 3 dollars is just the cherry on top.
Yeah but bioware didnt create the app. They aren't charging. The things within the app are worth $3 no doubt.
I know I was just commenting on how it was released at the worst possible time. There was almost no way people couldn't jump to conclusions.
I do have trouble believing that Bioware didn't have any control over this app whatsoever though.

I'm just happy that Chris said it's not bioware's stance on the ending, I still have hope!
Lose the hope. The "endings" mentioned that will be commented on is THE ending that currently stands with 3 color flavors, hence "endings". The notes show clearly that the ending (singular) as it currently stands is what it is. The endings are slight variations on the far periphery of that ENDING.
Actually, there's nothing for them to discuss. There is only an apology owed and a promise to FIX the ending to be what they repeatedly promised and advertised.
I have now warned my sister and father away from playing ME3. I had thought of letting them go to the end and then shrugging and saying, "I know, makes no sense, it is totally illogical both IN game and out of game." I will soon be informing them, if they are actually playing yet, that doing ANY side missions is a pointless exercise.

Deleted Scenes Videos:
- Liara and Garrus are running behind sheppard in the run for the conduit. Garrus falls over and Liara tries to pick him up. As he gets up, the two run and are hit by a laser as sheppard watches on without hope. In the final version (which is shown beside the deleted scenes video.) the body of your team mates are on the floor dead instead.
I don't quite get that. Javik was in my group at that time, and then emerged from the Normandy in the final scene.
Hmm.
I think you would have only gotten that death scene if your EMS was too low and in that case your whole crew was supposed to die anyway. I have nothing to back that up with of course, but it seems the most logical to me.

I think this pretty much kills the Truth DLC rumour. Disappointed that they decided to end it this way.
And how are my team mates DEAD when I brought Liara along with me and then she steps out of Normandy at the end? Aong with Joker and Javik. (Surprisingly, the game thinks I got along with Javik better than the rest. Hmm)

I don't think Bioware is out of touch with their customers though I agree with an earlier poster that right now they are assessing their options. Nor do I think that everyone speaking up for them at the moment is a "yes man" or shill. That said:
I don't for a moment think there are any other endings, this was a hallucination, etc. Bioware/EA is letting these speculations go on for two reasons. First, they are letting people vent. Secondly, they are weighing options.
Years ago, I worked for a PR damage control team and everything right now is going by the book. First, re-affirm and ignore (also known as doubling down), then try and define the detractors in the mainstream with things like "this is all a big mistunderstand", etc. while remaining civil in the hopes the detractors go rabid. Meanwhile go dark and use countermeasures through third part sources to prop up your position and brand the outcry as driven by hacks, haters or a minority trying to wear out the detractors on these outlets or "shock troops" while protecting the corporate core. Next, offer something distracting (notice SWTOR is free this upcoming weekend) known as the "faux olive branch"/ask the angry people to explain their concerns (without agreeing to commit to a compromise), buy more add time (definitely going on right now), and hope it dies down. If the pressure is still on, determine the economic viability of 1) ignoring the outcry and banking on the fickle nature of consumers to get over it or 2) determining if we can make money off of fixing it.
If it is any consolation, the decision whether or not there is a fix DLC, etc, won't be made by the writers so illusions to things they wanted to convey don't matter much atm (to wit: the leads comments yesterday). I suspect he's been called in and politely told by the PR guys to not do that again. This is now a corporate problem, not an artistic struggle with fans. Somewhere in the EA bunker, attorneys, PR guys, writers and brass are sharing numbers b/c in the end this will come down to hard currency.
As one who despises the endings, I'm hoping the suits tell the visionaries that the customers are loud enough and numerous enough to swollow their pride and get them out of this storm. For those that love them, I readily accept your position and respectfully disagree.

that is our best hope. EA didn't buy them to lose money and stock value.

I'm just stunned that the team that has brought us hundreds of hours of superb writing thought that this set of endings was a good idea. It's hard to believe.
I'd be more able to at least try to move beyond my general dismay if it weren't for the stupid Normandy crash segment. My mind simply can't create an acceptable rationalization for that part.
Please, Bioware, accept that you made a huge mistake with this game, and give your long-time customers what they want. We need logical endings for this game.
I'm not sure that I will bother with future Bioware games, if this isn't fixed. I buy their games because of masterful writing and story-telling. There is clearly still some brilliant talent on board; but their games are starting to move away from what I've come to expect from them. My future business is no longer a certainty, at the very least. Obviously, many of my fellow gamers are feeling similarly.
It's amazing, right?
It keeps running around in my head.
They did everything right up until that point, how could they not see that was a bad idea.

I like the hypocrisy in this final quote from Casey Hudson:
"I'd rather pilot something, not be a passenger, I want to be in control of where I'm going, what I'm there to do and the choices that I'm making."
We dont like being passengers either.
I was thinking the same thing reading that. If he doesn't like it why should we like having the autopilot switched on just as we're going in for a landing.
For the record I'm still holding out for then to pull something great, but the comment about no post DLC didn't help,

I've lost all desire to support this so called 'change the ending' movement. I cannot, and will not support such behavior by those wanting the endings changed. Personally, if it was me these forums would be closed for a lot longer than just 20 minutes: They would just be closed.
It just shows that giving people's anger a sounding board just encourages them to misbehave and overreact - and the result is pushing milder temperaments away from the community.
This is gone out of hand, and any sort of caving in on behalf of Bioware will just further encourage this level of lunacy - which I cannot and will not support.
That's all cool and all, but you're pretty much breaking the system.
Feedback is something this and every company needs. We paid the money and it just so happens that a large group doesn't like what they were given. Misbehaving is handled by forum moderators and overreacting is simply passion for the product, in my opinion.
Closing off the fans from voicing their opinion would only put Bioware back into the 90's. Chris and the gang would be reading/shredding letters in the mail in one hand and answering phones in the other.

While bioware has been willing to engage fans, most of it boils down to: "Well, what did you like? Ignoring the endings?" It would be nice if there could be a constructive method of venting fan frustrations to bioware that didn't involve either adding to the fursteration, or opening the floor to trolls. Survey, anything. Even if you don't read, I think the problem is the fans don't really feel like anything is getting through.
And if you have no plans to change the ending, just get it over with.

In essence, the poster is saying that Bioware lied, broke their promises, and he's going out of his way to make sure he and everyone he can convince no longer gives money towards them.
