Addressing doesn't mean fixing. They may fix it, but more than likely they will just tell us why they went the way they did.

Lets not fiorget we were PROMISED..
1) Answers to questions, and closure
2) Unique Ending based on choices and not the typical A,B,C choice.

These were promised, and after we paid for and complete the game found the exact opposite.
A,B,C choice for a "ending" where everything previously made NO difference.
More questions at the end than we had when we started.

Thats my major issue right there.
To quote GlaDos .. The truth was 'enhanced"

Explain what was promised vs what we purchased, PLEASE

It's amazing how the pro-no-changes people talk so much and say nothing.
You refuse to see our side, refuse to see it's impact and outright lie about our behaviour.

We neither desire or need the support of people who are so narrow-minded.

Most of what I've seen consist of calling us "whiners", "spoiled brats", or "stupid because [we] don't get the endings on the artistic level and philosophical level."

And even those who try to explain the endings in order to show that we don't get it seem to over look the glaring issues with the endings. There's so much wrong with the endings it goes beyond just the issues of the plot and lore. It just goes against everything Mass Effect in general (the choices, the story, the characters, everything).

In the app they actually have a lot more art works for IM boss. Theres one of him being completely nude but having the scaring he has on his face (like at the end of the game) except all over his body. It looks like that could have been fun.

I knew it !!!
I suspected that there were release-date pressures and they needed to do something.
When a development team still doesn't quite agree on the ending (or any other) sequence 4 months prior to release date you need to do something.

Options:
1. Move the release date by few months to add the content
This means that you do not meet projected revenue targets

2. Cut it so it can be released and go from there.
Release couple of DLCs to fund further development of the final in an expansion pack.

Given the fact that this is a business and the mighty $ speaks very loudly (even louder with EA), the only viable option is 2.
I'm sure they were aware of the impact this ending would have.
Knowing that, they also know how happy everyone will become when they finally 'finish it'.
It wasn't handled in the best way, but I think that it will all be forgiven (not forgotten) if they do it right.

Also, at the very end of the game when the little kid asks the old man to tell them another Shepard story, is't it sort of a hint that there is more to come?

He said it right here....

So...we payed for a game that should deliver closure to our Shepards stories...and it was delivered with no endings?

Am I getting this right? Really?

that's what I thought, I know he said it wasn't Biowares "official stance on the endings' or whatever. But that doesn't mean jack. They didn't deny any of the crap that was said, they were just mad they aren't getting their $3 (or whatever their cut is because I'm POSSITIVE they are getting something from that) from the app.

I like the hypocrisy in this final quote from Casey Hudson:

"I'd rather pilot something, not be a passenger, I want to be in control of where I'm going, what I'm there to do and the choices that I'm making."

We dont like being passengers either.

I was thinking the same thing reading that. If he doesn't like it why should we like having the autopilot switched on just as we're going in for a landing.

For the record I'm still holding out for then to pull something great, but the comment about no post DLC didn't help,

Stuff like this really cuts to the heart of the issue.  You can dissect the ending as much as you like, but regardless of whether you think it was good or bad, it wasn't what we were explicitly promised.

Loved the game. Ending made me not love any game. And by any game I haven't played any video games in 6 days. Bioware did the one thing I thought would be impossible. Remove my love of video games. That takes some serious talent right there

+1

It honestly depresses me. I'm not even angry so much as sitting here just...stunned. Unless somethign happens soon, I honestly can't support Bioware. They gave me an incredibly good ride, but with this silence, and release of endings I can't justify spending money on their products again.

Funny thing was I was talking to my coworkers about how much they HAD to have something up their sleeve. Problem is when I got home and saw these revelations it just seems more like emptiness.:crying:

Same here. I won't rush out and sell all my ME stuff just yet, but if there is nothing on the horizon, I'd like to know ASAP so I can get the most money back from my many ME purchases over the years.

What is interesting to me is that they published the rules used to justify the lockdown coincident with the release of ME3. They knowingly destroyed the game and knew it would ****** people off (and didn't give a damn) and so created rules to allow them to stick their fingers in their ears and say, "WE CAN'T HEAR YOU!"

But not by Bioware. By the people who think Bioware owes anyone anything.

In all fairness, Bioware does owe their customers. Everyone who bought the game spent their money based on Bioware's past performance and promises. Bioware did NOT deliver on those promises.

Rykoth wrote...
You don't like it. Fine. But basing all future business off of five minutes is childish.

It's called capitalism. If consumers become unhappy with the way a company acts, they have a RIGHT to vote with their wallets.

Yeah I paid $80 for the game because they told me I would get 16 endings that would reflict the choices I made in past games,i didn't get that so i have a right to complain and not give them any more of my money.

There are no laws that say freedom of speech is limited to telling people how great they are and their are no laws that say I have to buy bioware's products if I am unhappy with them as a company.

Now if Bioware will let me return my game or one of their supporters sends me $80 then I will stop complaining, not before.

Hold the line people.

Unless it is EA's fault, then I dunno.

It's simple, really. Look what games Bioware gave us before they joined EA (INCLUDING Mass Effect 1) and look what games they gave us AFTER they joined EA.

They better address the endings in a way that is not, "It is our artistic vision and will not change."

If they do that fine, but that means no more bioware games for me

Posted this yesterday, I'll repost here. Hope it helps to see what's on the other side of the mirror atm.

I don't think Bioware is out of touch with their customers though I agree with an earlier poster that right now they are assessing their options. Nor do I think that everyone speaking up for them at the moment is a "yes man" or shill. That said:

I don't for a moment think there are any other endings, this was a hallucination, etc. Bioware/EA is letting these speculations go on for two reasons. First, they are letting people vent. Secondly, they are weighing options.

Years ago, I worked for a PR damage control team and everything right now is going by the book. First, re-affirm and ignore (also known as doubling down), then try and define the detractors in the mainstream with things like "this is all a big mistunderstand", etc. while remaining civil in the hopes the detractors go rabid. Meanwhile go dark and use countermeasures through third part sources to prop up your position and brand the outcry as driven by hacks, haters or a minority trying to wear out the detractors on these outlets or "shock troops" while protecting the corporate core. Next, offer something distracting (notice SWTOR is free this upcoming weekend) known as the "faux olive branch"/ask the angry people to explain their concerns (without agreeing to commit to a compromise), buy more add time (definitely going on right now), and hope it dies down. If the pressure is still on, determine the economic viability of 1) ignoring the outcry and banking on the fickle nature of consumers to get over it or 2) determining if we can make money off of fixing it.

If it is any consolation, the decision whether or not there is a fix DLC, etc, won't be made by the writers so illusions to things they wanted to convey don't matter much atm (to wit: the leads comments yesterday). I suspect he's been called in and politely told by the PR guys to not do that again. This is now a corporate problem, not an artistic struggle with fans. Somewhere in the EA bunker, attorneys, PR guys, writers and brass are sharing numbers b/c in the end this will come down to hard currency.

As one who despises the endings, I'm hoping the suits tell the visionaries that the customers are loud enough and numerous enough to swollow their pride and get them out of this storm. For those that love them, I readily accept your position and respectfully disagree.

Sounds about right.......

No, it isn't.

Casey Hudson and others at BW thought the ends werew a great artistic effort.

EA may have pushed for the inclusion of multiplayer as a new revenue stream...but the endings are NOT EA.
