Im still trying to understand how professional writers who can make so much good, can write something soooooo bad.

Its the worst ending in videogame history. not only did they kill an entire franchise for me, but they killed videogaming in general. I haven't played anything in days.

Its like a rape victim not wanting to have sex.

Any proof of this? I'm starting to think that BioWare may have just lost it. EA has got to be getting furious soon if this keeps up.

Unless it is EA's fault, then I dunno.

It's simple, really. Look what games Bioware gave us before they joined EA (INCLUDING Mass Effect 1) and look what games they gave us AFTER they joined EA.

Not proof enough.

I think most of the "speculation" so far has been whether Bioware has lost it's touch with reality or not...

So Chris said they will be addressing the endings, okay I'm cool with Bioware again (as long as addressing means fixing)

where did he say this?

Nowhere

He said it right here....

So...we payed for a game that should deliver closure to our Shepards stories...and it was delivered with no endings?

Am I getting this right? Really?

ok my bad i missed that post by him. So we should expect them to sometime soon give us the "official" "deal with it" response. Great.I'm starting to get really angry at the fact that we were promised closure and got "lots of speculation for everyone!!!!". we were promised choices that would effect the game and got "pick a color" and we all this, based on documents gathered FROM BIOWARE appears to have been decided on basically a whim.

You don't like it. Fine. But basing all future business off of five minutes is childish.

Oh for sure...

Image flying on a plane from Europe to Australia, everything is just fine and dandy, nothing bad happens all the way through. Then, just before the landing, the pilot willingly messes completely up and nosedives the plane into the ground at 800 mph.

How could you possibly complain about this? He did everything right 98% percent of the time!

I take a deep pleasure in the constant chanting of catch phrases in response to all this. I cannot tell if it is merely schadenfreude or something more, however.

Dragon Age Origins and Mass Effect 2 are pretty good.

And really know, EA will suffer the most with this endings.

I mean, how many people will now buy ME3 DLC's with thins endings.
How many people will buy Bioware titles after this.

Unless Bioware does something to fix this fiasco, EA will suffer the most.

What is interesting to me is that they published the rules used to justify the lockdown coincident with the release of ME3. They knowingly destroyed the game and knew it would ****** people off (and didn't give a damn) and so created rules to allow them to stick their fingers in their ears and say, "WE CAN'T HEAR YOU!"

Well that is how they lost my money.  If we continue to hold the line I would not be surprised if EA starts firing people, then who will be laughing.  There are plenty of other games out there. Bioware needs us we do not need them but they don't seem to understand that yet.  Still the fact that they gave us PR spin and locked this place down shows that we are doing damage and they are being put under presure to end this. We just need to hang on and we can win.

Hold the line people.

Very nice post, atghunter. It's interesting to gain the insight of one who's been on the other side of this type of situation, and it fits pretty much with what my gut, or common sense, was telling me.

Let's hope they feel pressured enough to give us the endings (plural) that we want.

It's not that simple though.  Most of us loved 95% of this game, it's just the end that caused the problem.  And if anything, that app proves that the decision had nothing at all to do with EA.

I can't believe I'm saying this, but EA is innocent in all this.  Bioware just rolled a natural 1 on their skillcheck at the worst possible moment.

I actually agree with their stance here. I disliked the final boss in ME 2 a lot and was really glad the ending (in terms of combat) felt more like a war than a video game.

Loved the game. Ending made me not love any game. And by any game I haven't played any video games in 6 days. Bioware did the one thing I thought would be impossible. Remove my love of video games. That takes some serious talent right there

+1

It honestly depresses me. I'm not even angry so much as sitting here just...stunned. Unless somethign happens soon, I honestly can't support Bioware. They gave me an incredibly good ride, but with this silence, and release of endings I can't justify spending money on their products again.

Funny thing was I was talking to my coworkers about how much they HAD to have something up their sleeve. Problem is when I got home and saw these revelations it just seems more like emptiness.:crying:

I'm with you. It's incredibly hard to be ignored like this. I can't quire figure out what they hope to achieve by not interacting with us because it's a catastrophe any way you slice it. It's getting worse and they're happy to let it spiral out of control? Good luck with that, then.

I don't have much of a background with EA games. My wife is a long time Sims player and when they took over Bioware she warned me bad things were going to happen. She's always right.

its just really odd. bioware has/had such a strong fanbase. with their two most recent titled, they've pretty much done away with alot of the loyalty and trust the fans had for them.

biowares reputation is extremely damaged now. first with DA2 and now with the extremely poorly done ending to ME3. i mean they seem extremely out of touch with what the fans actually want and its only harming them.

Some people seem to have trouble understanding the difference between "broken promises" and "dishonesty".

When during an interview 12 months before a game's release, a developer makes certain promises about what content will be in the game, and then 12 months later gamers find this content missing, this is a broken promise.

When during an interview a few weeks before the release of the game, a developer makes specific promises about what will be in the game, and then gamers find the complete opposite, this is dishonesty. It's cynical marketing spin, that involves deceiving your consumers with the sole purpose of selling more product.

Guess which one happened here?
