THIS....

we may of lost hope in the indoctrination theory people that does not mean we still cant turn this around.

HOLD THE LINE people HOLD THE DAMNED LINE.

do not waver, do not despair

just HOLD THE LINE.

I want to. I really, really want to. I just....I am losing strength. Really, after days of fan outrage and reaction, being trashed and namecalled and flamed and told 'Thanks for your feedback' and 'We are listening'.....They post these 'insights', and STILL have not posted even a simple acknowledgement that something is wrong with their product....

The line wavers....

every cause's resolve gets tested day in day out , just hang in there!

i just refuse to let this die... nobody will ever take gamers seriously again and companies will continue to rob us of money and time.

i refused to let shepards story ruined by incompetence -_-

hold the line!

And even in November the gameplay team was still experimenting with an
endgame sequence where players would suddenly lose control of Shepard's
movement and fall under full reaper control. (This sequence was dropped
because the gaemplay mechanic proved too troublesome to implement
alongside dialogue choices).

Found that part interesting.

I think it's a dead giveaway that the 'indoc' theory is true.

So, In a game were story is everything, we'll decide to cut anything that would make sense of the end to cause "speculation" in a three-part series that won't continue past this game?

What the **** **** ****ity **** were you thinking Bioware?

I'm still holding the line... don't give up hope, regardless of the Indoc theory being crushed or not, the ending still has holes in it.

Holding

I don't get it. I just don't get it. I'm a writer and I just don't get it.

These developers sit around a table and think about how to end the trilogy...and they decide that...speculation is better than closure? Have they learned nothing from Lost?

It just reeks of arrogance and it's backfired in a huge way. If you want an open ending, leave Shepard's fate ambiguous. Tease at the Geth turning against the Quarrians again. Don't suddenly change the rules of the game and force the hero to destroy galactic civilization...uh...in order to save it.

Or better yet, when you decide to make a trilogy, plan the damn thing out.

I think it's cute that he wrote "end of first matrix" on his sheet, clearly hoping that's how his game would end, and it actually ended more like the end of the LAST matrix. At least he had the right IDEA... it's just amazing how badly they failed to execute that idea.

I too like the idea of ending the game with a "brave new world" and leaving some room for speculation, but they went toooooo far. And I didn't get the sense we were heading into a "brave new world" as much as a "brave technologically screwed world" which isn't quite the same thing.

I really wonder why content creators like the idea of leaving room for speculation so much. I get that in this case they probably wanted the player to be able to fill in some of the blanks on his own to further personalize the experience. But c'mon man... this is too many blanks.

When you leave ideas open at the end of a creative work, it can be fun (and frustrating) to hear people discuss what exactly you intended. Sometimes the truth is that "we didn't intend anything; it's whatever you want it to be".

This isn't just jettisoning a decent portion of the fanbase. This is alienating most of the CORE of Bioware's support.

These are the people who bought Baldur's Gate and loved it. Those people subsequently bought Neverwinter Nights, Jade Empire, Kotor, ME 1-2, and DA:O. Who bought the random comics, books, figures, etc etc.

I figured DA2's ending and production was just a side effect of rushed production but maybe they really have jumped the shark.

I'll tell you who I'm more mad at then any member of the Bioware team. Myself. I spent SO MUCH time defending Bioware. I ridiculed people who were upset about day one DLC. I laughed at people who wanted an old school RPG. I spent hours arguing with thse people, and telling them their problems were stupid.

Those hours were wasted. I was wrong. So incredbly wrong. I would like to apologize to anyone I argued with. Bioware is gone. There is no Bioware. Just EA. End of an era, folks. Sad to see it go, but there it is.

this seems appropriate:

HOLD THE DAMN LINE!

also, the "before or during" still leaves place to retcon the current ending.

Why would Bioware let this information be released? Are they deliberately trying to anger people?

Sounds like a lot of it was Casey's fault. Should've just let the writers do their thing.

Bad calls happen, it is not exactly easy being in his shoes. Let us just hope they can fix this.

HOLD THE LINE COMRADES!!! This may destroy the indoctrination theory, but this does not prove that they will not create another ending for us! Until Bioware comes out and states that they will not change the ending, we must Hold The Line!!!

I'm finding it easier to hold the line now then all the indoctrination stuff. We know the nature of the fight, understand our opponent and frankly, good is on our side.

They screwed up. Bad. Doesn't mean they can't won't fix. Our fight is to give them reasons to do so.
