So...we payed for a game that should deliver closure to our Shepards stories...and it was delivered with no endings?
Am I getting this right? Really?

There is that chance... that we bought a game that has no denoument (tieing up of loose ends)...
If it gets added as Free DLC, that would be great...
if it gets added as Paid DLC - that would be evil.

Do you know why people who like the endings are calling you whiners, besides the fact that we have trolls on our side as much as you have trolls on yours?

Because seriously people, you're over reacting. You are whining. You are raging. You are expressing so much bile and hatred and horrible wishes towards people you've never met. You're claiming entitlement to a change in a game that you didn't spend hours building and writing for and creating.

You didn't do that stuff, Bioware did. And out of what Bioware made... 5 minutes. 5 MINUTES of it is not up to people on this forums' taste, so they decide to crucify Bioware, insult them, rage against them, and then wonder why people like me call them whiners.

I understand your side. It's not /the best/ ending. But look at our side. Endings are hard to do. Endings are a challenge, and ultimately, it's a rare series that lands its ending on the landing pad with all parts intact. And more then that....

... five minutes of discontent does not mean Bioware went out of their way to hurt, harm, betray, punch, slap, kick, stab, burn, beat, or bash you.

The people who claim Bioware ruined the series intentionally are as foolish as people who claim Americans committed 9/11 on ourselves.

Here's a real fact for you.

Yes, there's a great story, and great characters.
At the end of the day?

It. Is. Just. A. Game.

If the only thing you have in life is the BSN network, go get some help. If you really have things better to do then please. Go to college. Go to work. Embrace your woman or your man, hug your kids. Do whatever people do. Do something for the world, instead of hurling insults towards a company you know none of personally.

Mr. Priestly I can appreciate you trying to keep the discussion here civil and even salute you for it. However the material released in this app highlights a divide of truly monstrous proportions between Bioware and its fans. I think some form of official statement would be prudent.

See, the thing that cracks me up is: Bioware gets the idea. They are actually looking at the fourms for suggestions. Its working. =)

Just... disgusting.

Bioware basically lied to it's fans with promises of multiple endings, and a conclusion to all of our decisions actually meaning SOMETHING. Instead we get this pretentious crap that they call and ending?

Maybe these should of spent less time adding multi-player (that nobody was even asking for) and is nothing but a sad excuse to milk more money from people buying item packs and gave fans a proper game ending.

I knew it !!!
I suspected that there were release-date pressures and they needed to do something.
When a development team still doesn't quite agree on the ending (or any other) sequence 4 months prior to release date you need to do something.

Options:
1. Move the release date by few months to add the content
This means that you do not meet projected revenue targets

2. Cut it so it can be released and go from there.
Release couple of DLCs to fund further development of the final in an expansion pack.

Given the fact that this is a business and the mighty $ speaks very loudly (even louder with EA), the only viable option is 2.
I'm sure they were aware of the impact this ending would have.
Knowing that, they also know how happy everyone will become when they finally 'finish it'.
It wasn't handled in the best way, but I think that it will all be forgiven (not forgotten) if they do it right.

Also, at the very end of the game when the little kid asks the old man to tell them another Shepard story, is't it sort of a hint that there is more to come?

Unless they give out that "expansion fix pack" for free BEFORE any DLC releases, Bioware is doomed.

Still wish this boss wasn't removed? I'm really glad it was.

I'll take that over star child.

I'd take an enema from an angry Krogan over star child.

Well said!  At least that wouldn't be a rip of of 2001 that made no sense.

The End of 2001 made actually more sense. He (Dave) could see his own life and death that was coined by solitarity. And after his death he was reborn. At least that is what is shown.

yea gamestop will need a warehouse to put all the used copies and a smaller one for the unbought new copies

Yeah as I said the other day I was in mine and there were a bunch of them on the shelf and three of the five people in line were trading in copies.  I have have never seen this happen to a AAA title after just one week before.

I actually think that there is no fight with the IM is a good idea. It doesn't really fit the character.

I would have liked an endboss fight, but it should be Harbinger, not IM.

It's clear to me now, that this is the ending that was intented.

I still have a faint hope they'll change it, if it begins to really hurt them financially.

But it will be hard, if they really have nothing done in this regard so far.
After all, people don't another patched together failure, but a real conclussion.

The point feels moot though What we get is a dialogue confrontation that isn't much of a confrontation at all. Pick the colored choice, done.
That's a problem with all of Mass Effect, sure, but I feel they could have done more with it regardless.

It's simple, really. Look what games Bioware gave us before they joined EA (INCLUDING Mass Effect 1) and look what games they gave us AFTER they joined EA.

Not proof enough.

Then look at EA's reputation... Surely you saw what they did to the C&C Franchise? Bioware is next.

It confounds me how EA will even approve such a mediocre ending.

EA bought Bioware, knowing that before 2007 Bioware was well-loved by the gaming community. Why tarnish it?

This is like Disney tarnishing Pixar to an extent. What company soils their prize developers just for some extra cash?

EA bought Westwood too. Most of their fans stil hate EA for what they did to the C&C franchise.

This is what happens when a writer makes an enemy too powerful and paints himself into a corner. What I find staggering is that they presented a solution when Shepard went Tron on the Reaper. They could easily have made the crucible make organics go Tron on all the Reapers, big scale. Suddenly the playing field would be leveled out. At least that would have been better than the three colored pills we have now.

I've lost all desire to support this so called 'change the ending' movement. I cannot, and will not support such behavior by those wanting the endings changed. Personally, if it was me these forums would be closed for a lot longer than just 20 minutes: They would just be closed.

It just shows that giving people's anger a sounding board just encourages them to misbehave and overreact - and the result is pushing milder temperaments away from the community.

This is gone out of hand, and any sort of caving in on behalf of Bioware will just further encourage this level of lunacy - which I cannot and will not support.

That's all cool and all, but you're pretty much breaking the system.

Feedback is something this and every company needs. We paid the money and it just so happens that a large group doesn't like what they were given. Misbehaving is handled by forum moderators and overreacting is simply passion for the product, in my opinion.

Closing off the fans from voicing their opinion would only put Bioware back into the 90's. Chris and the gang would be reading/shredding letters in the mail in one hand and answering phones in the other.

Look up some of his posts he was never any support at all. Kind of like the reapers telling shepard he is going to lose their support.

Bioware needs to release a statement about these endings and fix them because the consumers/fans are at the wits end. They can still salvage this but after what was seen in that app...oh boy.

Heck if Bioware puts it as a paid DLC to support more voice actor work I will definitely pay for it.....heck if I was a millionaire I would front the cash for the dlc project.

I just want to see a better ending come to light.

I WOULD however really like a statement on this from bioware.....I still have faith in you guys (I have been loyal since 07 and I know you will do right)

Also guys...please.....

Until Bioware comes out with a statement about whether or not they're going to release a new ending for ME3, a lot of what people are saying about the ME app proving that the endings that we currently have are the endings we're stuck with is jumping to conclusions.

Consider this for a second; Casey has said in interviews that he didn't want ME3's ending to be forgettable. We've seen from some of his twitters that there's something coming. I don't know what might be coming, but it makes sense artistically to create a huge sensation about the end of ME3 in this way; create such ambitious interactivity with the player to the point that if a player chooses the Control or Synthesis ending, gets upset, but then is resigned to acceptance, despite being disappointed, then they've really been indoctrinated (a la the ID Theory). Then Bioware let's that sit for a week or two before releasing the actual ending.

"But Casey said there wouldn't be any post-ME3 content released." POST-ME3 content, no. But what if the delayed release of the actual ending was meant to be a part of the game after all? What if what we're experiencing right now, frustration and everything, was intended to be a part of the overall gaming experience that comprises ME3, to be concluded with the true end content?

This may very well be me grasping at straws, or being in the denial stage of grief, or whatever, but just consider for a second that the event that is the release of ME3 is more than what is on the disc; that it's an interactive experience that goes beyond what is physically on the disc, and that it will be given the closure it deserves shortly.

It's crazy, and I may very well be way off base and wrong, but it's possible.
