Soooooooooo, keep your saves from Mass Effect 3 they said, more Mass Effect universe games they said. Nope, don't count me in I'm not buying anything from BioWare again, you just took a gigant crap on community, thank you very much and your 1000 useless DLC can't wait to buy them!

This.
And;
We'll want to hold on to our ME3 copies forever? Really? No, no no no. This is just deceit, pure deceit. Why all the hinting and coaxing us to keep our hopes up? This is cruel and as it looks right now, even if the anger subsides, this is just too much to forgive and forget. So when people say that this rage-storm will end, yes they're probably right, but this is just too much to forget, this has severly tainted my view on BioWare. So sad.

Welp, the rest of my hope has been pretty much beaten with a shovel by this thread. I think I'm going to cry myself to sleep tonight.

Until Bioware comes out with a statement about whether or not they're going to release a new ending for ME3, a lot of what people are saying about the ME app proving that the endings that we currently have are the endings we're stuck with is jumping to conclusions.

Consider this for a second; Casey has said in interviews that he didn't want ME3's ending to be forgettable. We've seen from some of his twitters that there's something coming. I don't know what might be coming, but it makes sense artistically to create a huge sensation about the end of ME3 in this way; create such ambitious interactivity with the player to the point that if a player chooses the Control or Synthesis ending, gets upset, but then is resigned to acceptance, despite being disappointed, then they've really been indoctrinated (a la the ID Theory). Then Bioware let's that sit for a week or two before releasing the actual ending.

"But Casey said there wouldn't be any post-ME3 content released." POST-ME3 content, no. But what if the delayed release of the actual ending was meant to be a part of the game after all? What if what we're experiencing right now, frustration and everything, was intended to be a part of the overall gaming experience that comprises ME3, to be concluded with the true end content?

This may very well be me grasping at straws, or being in the denial stage of grief, or whatever, but just consider for a second that the event that is the release of ME3 is more than what is on the disc; that it's an interactive experience that goes beyond what is physically on the disc, and that it will be given the closure it deserves shortly.

It's crazy, and I may very well be way off base and wrong, but it's possible.

Well obama was closing Gitmo

A lot of professionals use note pad paper to jot ideas down. I don't see why people are focusing on the legitimacy of the endings by saying they formulated around that one piece of paper. It's rather childish and ignorant.

To think there wasn't more to it, or because we aren't shown a computer file that details a heavy explanation of the endings, does not mean it was rushed/no thought was put into it.

I'll take that over star child.

I'd take an enema from an angry Krogan over star child.

Well said!  At least that wouldn't be a rip of of 2001 that made no sense.

The End of 2001 made actually more sense. He (Dave) could see his own life and death that was coined by solitarity. And after his death he was reborn. At least that is what is shown.

It made more sense than the ME3 ending but not by much.  The actual BOOK ended clearly.  No weird artsy-fartsy imagry.  You read the original book and you get a 100% sense of what is happening and what DOES happen.  This game needs to be more like a book and less like 2001.

And yes, the last 15 minutes (not 5, for whatever it's worth) did ruin it. It's like finding a layer of dog crap at the bottom of a triple-layer chocolate cake. It ruins the whole thing.

Truer words have not been spoken.

I've lost all desire to support this so called 'change the ending' movement. I cannot, and will not support such behavior by those wanting the endings changed. Personally, if it was me these forums would be closed for a lot longer than just 20 minutes: They would just be closed.

It just shows that giving people's anger a sounding board just encourages them to misbehave and overreact - and the result is pushing milder temperaments away from the community.

This is gone out of hand, and any sort of caving in on behalf of Bioware will just further encourage this level of lunacy - which I cannot and will not support.

Uh....buddy....I suggest you don't go to any video game message boards any time soon. Because believe it or not this is by far the most mature and polite discussion of Bioware and the game's end that I've seen, hands down.

So no, closing this board isn't going to accomplish anything. The internet rage against Bioware isn't localized on these boards.

A lot of us are saying to ourselves, "It can't end like this. I refuse to let it end like this." and a lot of us are trying to find ways to keep the "world" from ending like this.

Isn't that what Shepard would say? Isn't that what Shepard would do? Maybe this is the highest level of "the player is Shepard" that Bioware could create; we're reacting the way that Shepard would react. We really are Shepard.

There is such an opportunity for Bioware to construct the biggest real-life plot twist of gaming history, that I'm holding out hope that that's what they're doing.

also regarding the "professional reviewers" point that was raised earlier by someone. I've spoken to people that review games for a living and they told me if they give a negative review to a larger company they can be basically cut out of the loop. IE if someone came out and said "ME3 was the best game ever but the ending makes it all completely not worth it" that person would likely not be invited to review DA3 or something.

For me Bioware makes the best game of all times, ME1, ME2 and yes ME3, but they just end the game in a very bad way, all the games are awsome, full of decisions, hard decisions, but the end is just a straight line, without any decision at all, when you start running to the light beam for the citadel its the end of the mass effect experience.

If we don't get a DLC for keep going and get a real ending, I'm not going to buy any other DLC, because I know the end is not worth the play, so why I'm going to play again, to get the same crappy end?, it doesnt matter any decision that I take, it will just end the same bad way, it doesnt matter if you kill 300000 batarians for the sake of galaxy, it doesnt matter you sacrifice your team for it, it doent matter any decision you make in all this past years of playing, it even doesnt matter that you join all galaxy together. We are just going to fail whatever we do.

I still don't get what the goal the writers and producers had in mind when they decided creating 'Lots of speculation' was a good idea... I mean thats not something you want to create at the end of a trilogy you want resolution, the only reason to create speculation is as a prelude to a marketing campaign for something, what I have no idea, but if that was their goal, I serious doubt this was the speculation they hoped to create

It's a terrible thing when any persons' passion is crushed.
Video games, and thier stories are passions...
as are sports, fine art, movies, people... and any number of countless things that a given person might hold dear to themselves.

It is a truly sorry human being that has no passions at all...

Hey Bioware, we're done. Been with you since playing BG2 as a kid. Nothing but respect.

I'm sorry that EA has finally finished taking a **** on what's left of your soul. I'll be telling my other gamer friends about this mess. Funny, I was just urging a few to give the series a shot. Oh well, companies wither and die all the time.

P.S., you want to join the "art" world? Well welcome aboard. There's a reason the starving artist idea exists - because the world has a much greater propensity to think "artist's" "artistic visions" are garbage and not pay for them than it does to make them all millionaires. I hope you have a good time frolicking through the museum.
