Isn't that what Shepard would say? Isn't that what Shepard would do? Maybe this is the highest level of "the player is Shepard" that Bioware could create; we're reacting the way that Shepard would react. We really are Shepard.
Would Shepard curl up into a little ball and cry herself to sleep? Because that's kind of what I feel like doing at this point.
And somehow that doesn't seem very Shepard.

It confounds me how EA will even approve such a mediocre ending.
EA bought Bioware, knowing that before 2007 Bioware was well-loved by the gaming community. Why tarnish it?
This is like Disney tarnishing Pixar to an extent. What company soils their prize developers just for some extra cash?
You must be new to gaming.
EA has been doing this for nearly twenty years now. Look up the names Origin, Westwood, and Bullfrog amongst others. We can add Bioware to this list.

The whole app thing too. Ok so theyre offical statement on it is they didnt make it nor charge for it. Well its Bioware material and dont think for a second that Bioware didnt get anything out of it. Because I refuse to believe that Bioware just handed that over for free. Because if that was the case Bioware would have done so on their websites and not have given it to G4 for app copyright use. More than likely Bioware gave them that material for the upcoming G4 article theyre going to release. In hopes of getting a positive look instead of a negative one.

If Bioware ran this ending with 3rd party playtesters, they would have known how awful the ending truly was. Whether they decide to do anything with the information is another matter entirely though.

So often we see the assertion that the creative artists at BioWare should not be influenced by the greedy corporate EA overlords, but now... Now we're seeing assertions of hope that the profit-focus of EA will override any "artistic integrity" motivating BioWare to defend or retain its crappy ME3 ending.
Ah, hah hah hah hah hah.

There is such an opportunity for Bioware to construct the biggest real-life plot twist of gaming history, that I'm holding out hope that that's what they're doing.
Yeah, and some of us who bought a digital copy are asking ourselves how the hell you get your money back?
$60 frickin dollars could have gotten me something better, or at least a better game from ANOTHER company.

Do you know why people who like the endings are calling you whiners, besides the fact that we have trolls on our side as much as you have trolls on yours?
Because seriously people, you're over reacting. You are whining. You are raging. You are expressing so much bile and hatred and horrible wishes towards people you've never met. You're claiming entitlement to a change in a game that you didn't spend hours building and writing for and creating.
You didn't do that stuff, Bioware did. And out of what Bioware made... 5 minutes. 5 MINUTES of it is not up to people on this forums' taste, so they decide to crucify Bioware, insult them, rage against them, and then wonder why people like me call them whiners.
I understand your side. It's not /the best/ ending. But look at our side. Endings are hard to do. Endings are a challenge, and ultimately, it's a rare series that lands its ending on the landing pad with all parts intact. And more then that....
... five minutes of discontent does not mean Bioware went out of their way to hurt, harm, betray, punch, slap, kick, stab, burn, beat, or bash you.
The people who claim Bioware ruined the series intentionally are as foolish as people who claim Americans committed 9/11 on ourselves.
Here's a real fact for you.
Yes, there's a great story, and great characters.
At the end of the day?
It. Is. Just. A. Game.
If the only thing you have in life is the BSN network, go get some help. If you really have things better to do then please. Go to college. Go to work. Embrace your woman or your man, hug your kids. Do whatever people do. Do something for the world, instead of hurling insults towards a company you know none of personally.
To be fair, while it is true that there is a lot of idiotic entitlement going on, not everyone who dislikes the endings is on the same boat.
I hated the endings as much as the next guy, but I find the calls for Walter's head, and the scathological remarks about what they'd do with it to be infantile and in poor taste. Even calling to have him firing for making such a bad a call is a bit too much. I also was disgusted, as someone whose close family has been the victim of rape, with the guy who compared himself to a rape victim, and the flight/pilot metaphor was completely farfetched.
Two things, though.
1- I still feel like I'm entitled to express my feelings about these endings, they were terrible. They were lacking in narrative quality and production values, broke completely from the narrative of the game, made no sense whatsoever, and didn't depend one bit on the choices you made past the 4000 ESM mark. They're a terrible way to wrap up a great series.
2- I don't think requesting DLC that changes the ending and hoping it'll be free is wrong, specially when to drive home the sincerity of that request, you donate thousands of dollars to a children's charity.
Demanding it though, yeah. I agree, that's childish, but not everyone is demanding it.
People do need to take it down a notch here, but just because some people are whining, it doesn't mean that all of us who disliked the endings and are requesting new content that fixes it are whiners.

yea gamestop will need a warehouse to put all the used copies and a smaller one for the unbought new copies
I work for one of their competitors, and we've already had a handful of disgusted gamers trade in their copies. It's sad to see. Each time has resulted in a half dozen employees and customers rehashing our disappointment and commiserating.

You're assuming it's a room of playtesters that all think like you do. That's an outright silly thing to think.

Q: How was BioWare involved in the creation of this story?
A: A story like The Final Hours is only possible with an incredible amount of support, coooperation and trust from the game development team. Casey and I first started talking about a Final Hours story around Mass Effect in the Spring of 2011 and I began work on it during the summer of last year. Even though he was in the thick of finishing the game, he was generous with his time, as were many other team members at BioWare. They sat down for interviews, photos, and answered countless questions over e-mail.
Unlike Valve, EA is a huge game publisher (which owns BioWare) and
navigating the kind of access I needed to the team wasn't easy. But I
must thank the tireless Andrew Wong, the head of BioWare's PR group, for
his energy, responsiveness and support of this project across many
trips to Edmonton. Even though he was launching one of this year's
biggest games, he and his team, including Lisa Chan, always made time
for the Final Hours. Similarly, my thanks extends to Jeff Brown at EA.
Many of you many know him as nothing more than EA's oft-quoted and
colorful "spokesman," and while his quotes are legendary, he is also one
of the smartest guys I know and a dear friend. Jeff was instrumental in
inspiring me to continue with the Final Hours series and helped ensure
that I had to support of EA to write the story I wanted to write.
