Well that's good to know ... Indoctrination theory is back (also, the game's only hope).

I don't see why people can't voice their displeasure at how the retail game ended AND theorize on why it is the way it is, especially when there are strong indications of those possibilities.

You should go to The Final Hours website and hover your mouse over the three options to buy it. (App Store, Coming Soon, and Coming Soon.) Notice anything?

Blue for App Store
Green for Coming Soon PC
Orange/Red for Coming Soon Amazon

Hm..........

So the good app is on Amazon right?

I can completely understand why they made the choices they did.

Cutting the dialogue for example was a good decision at the very end, or it may have diffused the revelatory atmosphere of the moment. Leaving the moment open to interpretation and ambiguity proved far more compelling to me than it might have been if it were wrapped up predictably with some boss battle vs Harbinger.

Mass Effect has from the very beginning been a labour of love - I don't think they are doing this for accolades, but rather ended it how they felt they wanted to send off their beloved creation.

And what a fantastic game it was.

You sure?  Because, I don't know if it's been mentioned, but this quote pretty much kills any and all hope:

Hudson isn't sure where the series goes next, but he's pretty confident that he never wants to tell any stories that take place in a post-Shepard era. "Whatever we do would likely happen before or during the events of Mass Effect 3, not after," he suggests.

Which is a pretty good indication the ending is the end for Shepard (even with the "alive" teaser).  I'm sure when they're looking at how much they could be making by milking Shepard dry, they'll change their mind ... but at this point, I'm not going to be giving them any money for it. Not for Mass Effect and not for any future RPG.  Not when this is where they've planned to end things all along.

@JessicaMerizan @mcderose Implying there's more to come after that point? Hope so. Recent news about endings made me sad batarian face ::(

@ReanKnopke @mcderose I don't think anything you saw/read/heard today should make you sad about the endings. Some theories still hold true.

@JessicaMerizan Oh, I was just gutted after i finished (over 100 hours invested), but I have Hope now. #readytofinishthefight #closure

@mcderose don't take it completely at face value. There's definitely some underlying messages you should be taking away when credits roll.

Very interesting. Hmm....
Hope finds a way to crawl out from the rubble alongside Shepard?

The best evidence for the indoctrination theory seems to endlessly come from Twitter.

Perhaps the source itself is under insidious control...

Well, this is pretty direct.

So, if you're not going to care what they say, then why stick around?  I hear people wanting an explanation on the ending, but turn around and treat  BioWare staff like crap and refuse to consider what is being said.  So why give an explanation if it doesn't matter?

You have to understand, they can't say anything yet.  It's all bound in legal.  It has nothing really to do with how many people are playing, or when the situation calls for it.  They have a long-predetermined date to be able to open up about the title.

My advice:  If you're that far torn away from the series, than let it go and move on.  I'm sure there will be better pursuits that could now be attended to with a 20-40 hour game out of the way.

What the hell are you talking about?  There is no revelatory atmosphere.  It does nothing but raise even more questions.

Maybe for 2 seconds where you see something "decent" which then goes to credits.
If that means good, then I say probably yes.

Technically, if it's a part of the plot of ME3, than it will still be a part of ME3.  So if it takes place right after the Alive ending with Shepard, than it's probably fair game.  Now, if it takes place several years down the line with some weird quasi conflict between the Salarians and Rachni over fly-recipes, than that isn't going to happen.

But that's up to BioWare's discretion.

Lamesauce with a side of . . . extra lamesauce. I was holding out hope the current ending was all a massive, well orchestrated ruse. Guess not.

I'm glad they took out the Illusive man boss battle. That just wouldn't fit his character. What makes him threatening is his intelligence and resources, not his fighting abilities.

I actually agree with this completely. Overlooking Harbinger as some sort of final boss, though, I do not like.

Put it this way: She and BioWare are ABSOLUTELY INSANE if she's being allowed to make those kind of Tweets without a proper ending in the pipeline.

That's all I'm going to say. Considering what a sh!tstorm this has been, that would be suicide if it were disingenuous.

Hold the line.

We need to remember why we are here in the first place: we love the Mass Effect series and we believe that it deserves a better ending or at the very least, an explanation behind the endings and what they mean from the development team.

This new information does not change our underlying goal, regardless if it shows that the writing staff actually wrote the endings as is and thought they were passable. We want a new ending for Mass Effect. The fans and the universe deserve a proper send off.
