It honestly looks as if Casey Hudson et al wanted to ruin Bioware forever?

Me: Wake up Bioware
Bioware: Where are we?
Me: Mass Effect 3's ending. It is my life.
Bioware: We need to fix this. Everyone is pissed. We fear for our lives.
Me: You have three choices. The blue path will let you fix everything. Follow up on the Indoctrination theory that your fans created for you. If you take the green path you can ignore everything, lose 80% of your fanbase and eventually die as the company that ****ed up Mass Effect. Or the red path, where you can try to justify your actions, ultimately fail and die as the company that ****ed up Mass Effect.
Bioware: The only reasonable option seems to be the blue one. Why wouldn't we pick that?
Me: The DLC must be free.
Bioware: NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Oh my gosh... LOL
This is the best post in the history of posts.

Although the alternative to this is to look at Neon Genesis Evangelion. Again there fan reaction was hugely negative to the original ending (but became more understanding once it became clear that Gainax basically ran out of cash). And such was (and is) the demand for a "true" or "proper" telling of the story that Gainax released End of Evangelion to give it a "proper" ending. And now a full remake is in progress as the four films that will constitute the Rebuild of Evangelion. But with all this negative feeling, Bioware would need to be extremely careful if they took this route.
Frankly, as a consumer I feel short-changed, I paid for a premium product (bouncing around the webs to quickly get a new preorder for the CE when GAME said no to EA). Only to find that three great games are let down by someone thinking he was being clever, when in fact it's pretentious and rubbish. Keeping it simple is almost always the better course of action. In the end a game I thought I would be placing in my mental file of "greats" (alongside FF7 and Zelda: TOOT) is now filed alongside FF9 as a let down and a waste of money.

Weird side thought, but maybe, just maybe Casey and crew decided to commit Biowares economic suicide/ ruin on purpose? Its hard to believe they would be so clueless as to what the games ending would do after all thier false promises of multiple endings and player actions really mattering.
Maybe they got pressured and rushed by EA one too many times (ie DA2) and due to contracts the only way they could strike back at EA was to commit Biowares economic suicide. ie ****** off the majority of the fanbase so almost no one would ever buy a Bioware title again.
Naah, I don't buy it. This actually crossed my mind at some point as well, but now.. If anything, that look at 'behind the scenes' only proves what some of the people posting here on BSN have been suspecting all along.. that they have just completely lost touch with their fanbase at some point. It's all just ego. For example, that "too video-gamey" comment alone just reeks of contempt for the very medium in which they work.. they're in the bussines of making video games, after all.. Well, at least, that's what it looks like to me. Sorry, I haven't slept much and english seems to fail me at the moment.

Yeah, seems there was a bit too much focus on war assets. I mean, why do low assets turn the destroy option shockwave to a destruction one. How can some more ships change the power of that shockwave??
It doesn't really matter. All on earth are dead anyway. I mean, there are lots of ship with lots of people on a destroyed planet without any mass relays to get home. First they will become cannibals and then they starve to death! Yeah! And this shall be the best ending in the series. All your friends are on earth (or are they with joker? no they are not, they would not leave you, they are on earth. Seriously, before i want my people to starve to death, i rather let them be killed by a shockwave! More happy-end, than the other ends!
But as we all learned: What we did in ME1-3 didn't matter at all! But I can't understand how such minds, who created awesome series suddenly think, that this kind of ending would be good! And after all, they promised us conclusion and that our decisions mattered!
How could you trust someone who was lying so much to you anymore? I certainly don't! So without an conclusion DLC (for free, I payed for this game!), this was it! And no Mass Effect 4!!! The ending of the reapers belongs to Mass Effect 3!

I really didn't want to be one of "those people", but I feel more comfortable with the ultimatum stance now. If this is not fixed, Bioware will never see another dime from me. They flat-out lied to their customers. They spent twelve months promising that there would be no questions left unanswered, in exchange for my $60. I ponied up. They INTENTIONALLY didn't deliver on their end. That is wrong, plain and simple.
^This, so much this. I have no problem with speculative sci-fi and such. I wouldn't have minded an ending like this in a story where it fits. But this is not what I wanted from ME. This is not what ME was about for the last 2.9 games. And this is pretty much the opposite of what Bioware promised us the endings would be like.

I think actually the videogamey comment makes sense, considering the boss fight of ME2 was not well-received for being too "videogamey."

I thought the boss fight was disliked because Pants the Proto-Reaper looked silly and didn't make much sense design wise. Was 'too video-gamey' actually a complaint? Because I didn't mind the fight, only the design. There were better designs in the ME art book that would have made more sense.

Deleted Scenes Videos:
- Liara and Garrus are running behind sheppard in the run for the conduit. Garrus falls over and Liara tries to pick him up. As he gets up, the two run and are hit by a laser as sheppard watches on without hope. In the final version (which is shown beside the deleted scenes video.) the body of your team mates are on the floor dead instead.
NO~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Please leave me dead or indoctrinated as it is!
Watching Legion, Mordin and Thane die was... depressing enough....
I cannot stand to watch Liara and Garrus die!
I rather be indoctrinated, hallucinating or whatever.... just dont show me how you kill Garrus and Liara. Ignorance is a bliss...
Unless it were James and Ashley getting blown up... then I am fine.

There is no way they can go and admit things on the app when they have gone this far denying things. Wouldn't make sense.
The app is a part of the indoctrination.

At least if they gave the dough it's not like throwing a cat at you and saying "there's a cat, make your own damn pizza."
The dough fits a pizza. The catalyst, star child fits nothing.

The app is not from Bioware. Don't know how many times this must be said. They gave this guy from a game site access to BW studios in November but they did not release the app or it's contents themselves.

But they did permit his work and approved the content he publishes. And they must have any use of this, as they are not a charity for letting him earn money with "exclusive insights".
