So I thought I would put up a new wish list.
*Note: I admit to having little to no belief that these things will happen, but......take it as you will.
Reasonable changes to Thane romance (IMHO)
1) Picture of Thane in Shep's cabin.
2) Fix of animated/graphic issues with hand holding and kissing (especially the interupt kiss. Mine was really wonky.)
3) Give us the damn Paramour Achievement. It could be triggered simply by choosing the "private time" option. Who cares if someone wants to get together with Kaiden or one of the ladies later. Their choice, and it shouldn't negate those that wish to stay true to Thane. And honestly, if I remeber correctly, the cheevo doesn't state specifically who you were with when you got it. (admit I could be wrong on that, but again, who cares....)
4) Give us another letter from say Kolyat or the VS in regards to our involvement with Thane. I figure this at least would be something to indicate that others saw our relationship with him, and give us a moment to believe that others care about Thane's passing. I say letter since it would probably be to difficult to add in new dialogue scenes. Throw us a bone.
5) Give us the proper flashback.....no default to LIARA! How hard would it be to throw in a couple of old stills from ME2 for god sakes. If need be, this community could easily provide them.....sheesh!
6) Add back any/all cut scenes (if any are to be had) involving Thane. More screen time please!
As for somewhat unreasonable (but still wanted) wishes, I of course would love the following, but know there isn't a chance in purgatory of them happening.
1) New thoughtful dialogue from Shep. More options so we can properly role play our Shepards (she ain't mine anymore)
2) Get Thane on the Normandy. Preferred if he stayed, of course, but even a visit.
3) OPTION to extend Thane's life and keep him alive even after fight with Kai Leng.
4) Actual dialogue scenes with sqadmates in regards to relationship with Thane and should he die, his death.
Again, I don't believe we will get any of this, but I think keeping our wish lists alive on this thread, may point out exactly what they could have done to honor a well loved ROMANCE character. (emphasising the romance part since so many people think we are crazy for not likely his death scene and all.....)
That is all for now......thoughts?

Here's my less than reasonable addition...
Well, unless I can keep him alive until the past the credits, I'm not playing... I'm not good with grief in my entertainment... I won't compromise... Cure Thane BW...please?

I wonder why they put so much effort in Liara romance, but others got shafted? Did they run out of time or was this the plan all along?
It always seemed that ME1 romances took precendence. Even in ME2. And everyone knows that Liara seems to be BWs favorite!! WTF?

@wildannie - The truth be told, I am actually with you on that front. However, if the "reasonable list" could be accomplished, maybe some of the sad pandas out there, will feel better about continuing to play a game I think we had all hoped to enjoy. I don't wish anyone to feel bad about enjoying something if they do.

I do support the other ME2 characters that got little more than a mention. I thought Jack's new character was great. She was funny and smart and I really like the new Jack.
Jacob wasn't my particular love interest, but I did think that him simply running off with another woman was pretty harsh for those that did have him as a love interest.

1) She had changed since ME2, but we only got to see her in front of her students and during that horrifically short conversation in Purgatory. So much of her ME2 romance was close and personal. Why redesign her and show her mature, if we hardly get any time to talk to her?
2) Given how reticent Jack was emotionally in ME2, it would have been nice to see her express her feelings in words in addition to her... outward aggressive affection.
3) No before the final battle scene. No email, no nothing. No picture to remember her by, no trinket, no any little thing in Shepard's cabin.
4) ... just more Jack!

Excellent list. I actually have a m!Shep in ME1 (about two thirds complete) who I was setting up to be with Jack, but since this game (ME3) has sort of sucked out the appeal of importing for me, I have yet to complete it.

I want Keythe Farley to *read* the letter. Out.Loud. I want to HEAR it.
That would definitely make me cry, whether or not Thane is alive at that point.

I super support this. None of ME2 romances even got to come on the Normandy which I thought was dumb.
Not unless you count Garrus and Tali, but probably not since they're the only two that's been with Shepard since day 1.

they couldn't even remove Thane's jacket? And no, I'm not perving for a change, I mean really? He just had surgery in all his clothing? Kaidan and Ashley seemed to be out of armour, so why not Thane? Oh yeah, they didn't think of that...

1) The character retcon. Jacob was honest, honorable, sincere and in love with Shepard at the ME2. In ME3, Jacob was convinced that he would never see Shepard again, despite only six months separation, involved with Brynn Cole and weakly apologetic.
1A) The confrontation over his sudden change of heart is not nearly long enough. There is no resolution in it. Jacob just repeatedly said he was sorry without any real emotion or explanation other than, "You expected me to wait forever?"
2) Shepard got her cougar voice on, and was diminished to attempting to seduce her own partner back into a relationship.
2A) There was no real option to reunite Shepard and Jacob. Through no fault of the player's own, the relationship is just over. The contrast between the end of ME2 and the meeting in ME3 isn't just jarring, it's completely out of the blue.
3) Brynn Cole needs to die. "I won't lie, I went after him. He still loves you... but the best place for Jacob is with me now, I hope you understand that." After this from Brynn, Shepard only gets the option to say, "I won't discuss my relationship with Jacob with you." Shepard acts as though this is still an ongoing conflict, but again, no resolution. It's just abruptly, over.
3A) No option to renegade shoot Brynn or Jacob (it's really the writer's fault, not theirs).
3B) No option leave Brynn there, let Cerberus get her ((it's really the writer's fault, not theirs).
4) On the Citadel, Jacob acts as though a romanced Shepard is just a friend. This is particularly distressing especially considering that he lets Shepard know that Brynn is carrying his child, and that she wanted to name it after Shepard. The auto-dialogue only allows Shepard to say, "I'm happy for you. Really.
4A) No achievement.

I don't want to begrudge them either. But I don't want BW deciding on who my LI should be. I swear after Thane died, I had everyone but Garrus (who has a FemShep) trying to hump my leg like a varren. Not cool.

Honestly I think A LOT was wrong with ME3, but the M2 LIs and the ending were just the worst part. I could've forgiven the rest if at least the end and ALL romances were great...
Good summarize of the things that bother me most although there is a lot of good enjoyable stuff in the game.
I cried a whole night about not beeing able to prolong Thanes live and not having the chance to talk about personal things, about the love my Shep feels for him since she met him on Illium, about his son and so on. There are so many things they should have talked about. And some private moments like Shep can share with the VS LIs would have been nice, too:wub:.
And there is one more, that should be fixed: Thane never wanted to die in a hospital! And now it's exactly what he gets. Poor Thane!

^So This! I despise that hospital, and ALL of our meaningful (/saracasm implied) interactions with him are in that damnitable place.

1. I never got to grief Thane. Squaddies never mentioned that it must be hard for me blah blah blah as they did with the other casualties.
2. Even Kaidan (who wanted to get back with my character after me 'cheating' on him) never gives any support to the person he supposedly cares about.
3. Scripted death of Thane is also quite lazy, considering the effort BioWare put in his creation.
4. Just a little bit of dialogue. Too little.
5. Thane doesn't get to visit Normandy for the last time and talk to others.
