I agree that Thane wasn't the only one that was....abysmal.

Jacob was definitely mishandled/written, and Samara was basically non-existent. Even Miranda - for the role she played in ME2...what happened in ME3??

To me it just seems like a really straight forward path; use ALL existing romances to their full arc. Allow all LI's to be recognized and continued. Why go out of your way to develop them, just to toss them out the window for what....time, money, after-thought, laziness....what?!?!?

I agree, it seemed lacking or lazy regarding the romances of ME2. I think Miranda's romance was the luckiest out of all of them, than Jack. Thane was understandable for me because of his situation but I heard his romance wasn't even mentioned at all. And then there is Jacob, felt sorry for those who romanced him.
Oh and I don't know if anyone realised this but isn't Brynn Cole's VA the same as female Hawke's. Every time my Shepard talks to her, I seem to imagine femHawke talking to Shepard instead of Brynn herself. I could never forget that voice, one of my favourites.

The best thing we can do, is continue to be loud about our grievances. Spread the word, post in the forums, donate to Child's Play, support the campaigns and do whatever you can to make it known that THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE.

The whole "Mass Effect fans are being self-entitled whiners" mantra is complete bunk, so don't buy into it.

We are consumers, who purchased a product. This gives us the right to voice our opinion. We gave you OUR money. You exist because of the fans, the people who give you their hard-earned cash and support your games. It is not unreasonable in the slightest to expect quality in return and for you to deliver on your promises.

Without competition and the drive for excellence, Bioware would not be at the level it is today.

Big corporations only understand one thing. Profits. Hit them in the wallet and they take notice. We've got a good start, keep it up.

As for the ME2 romances, I've voiced my opinion on this subject. I support this thread and the idea of improvement in those areas wholeheartedly.

I find it rather mind-boggling that none of them could, even if it's just while they're docked at the Citadel. Would have been a good way to squeeze in a real romance scene, pop the achievement, and have them leave a picture of the LI afterwards are 'proof'.

I wanted to reach in and steal a kiss after intervening in her suicide, why why I'm sad, and coming back here just seems to reopen all the old wounds, and I'm left with this lame empty broken thing, that just causes pain and this empty hollow feeling.

I got nothing nothing nothing, no chance at clouser, anything.

My wants for Samara romance

1.When stopping her from killing herself interrupt, paragon/renegade I don't care which and steal a kiss from her right there in front of her daughter.
2.Be able to talk with her and have her admit her feelings for Shepard,and tell Shepard, that by attempting to kill herself the way she did is a violation of the Justicar code, and for an act such as that the code demands she lose her Justicar status, and leave the order.
3.Be able to have Samara back as a squad member,
4.Have a full fleshed out romance plot and scene,
5.Find out about Samara's bond-mate and what happened to her.
6.an ending where Samara and Shepard find happyness together after the reapers are defeated

I was left with a broken heart and am now in the process of grieving and writing a fanfic, as I can come up with a better ending to the series than the one BW gave us.

I feel bad for those who romanced Thane and Jacob, as they got things just as bad as those like me who were holding on to the idea of a romance with Samara.

Jack, Miranda, and Kelly fans got things great and perfect compared to us Thane, Jacob, and Samara fans.

I wondered if that's why you had a Samara pic. I've got no plans of changing it, my user pic is reserved for my favorite LI, and Samara is that, even though we never got to finish things, that's why I'm heading to the fanfic boards.

Supported! Considering ME2 was the game that pulled me into the Mass Effect Series, I only bought ME1 after finishing ME2 to get the full back story and choices. I had a lot more invested in the characters in ME2 than in 1, and was thoroughly put off by Kaiden in my first ME2 playthrough with how he treated me on Horizon that I didn't invest in his romance in ME1 past a "I have to romance SOMEONE for the paramour achievement so might as well..."

I adored the characters in ME2 and the ability to learn so much about them and seeing them in action. I was really looking forward to how the romance would play out in ME3, literally bouncing in my seat googling anything I could with some clue of how they'd be in ME3... only to get the lackluster things we got. My first romance was Thane, my second one Jacob, my third Garrus.... I struck out MAJORLY in ME3 with my first two choices, the only good one of my 3 was Garrus. :\\ Which was a pity, I had high hopes for Thane with all the foreshadowing that went on in 2 and on the forums from the Devs, he was my absolute favorite one after all. They could have done SO much better with it. I haven't even played through to earth to get the endings after hearing how awful they were... after my hopes were so high on my romance playing out to be dashed out so brutally... I stick with the multiplayer now. It just doesn't feel worth it to me to play the story through again unless things get fixed. ><
