I think that an important point to get across to Bioware is this:

We, as committed Mass Effect fans, understand that the cost of getting the voice actors of all of the LI's back in to record additional content for Romance DLC would be sizable. But, for a high quality Romance DLC, we, as committed Mass Effect fans, would be willing to pay more for this than we would for any standard DLC package.

What's up guys. I've found somethng interesting. Bioware is actually taking things in consideration (atleast I think). If you have a twitter account post what you would like to see happen to the romances. They actually have people answer your tweets and ask for your input.

Bioware even told the person in the picture that they're hanging it up. HANGING...THE PICTURE...OF EVERYONE...WANTING A CURE FOR THANE. You know, EXPECTING THAT WE COULD SAVE HIM IN ME3. Not the bullcrap we got in ME3.

I was so all for that banner when I found out, my Shepard was also on it!! And I was SO excited to hear the folks at BW had put it up on  their wall, I remember there was a photo showing it hung up in some BW FB page too, but not too sure-it's been a while!! We were led on, though, with hints dropping left and right about possible cures, in the game; and OK, I can live with the fact there was no cure in the end, for dramatic and tragical purposes...But the treatment they gave the romance overall...makes me upset to just  think about it!:/

And then there's Jacob, whose treatment-though I didn't believe it when I heard it at first, admittedly- was even worse than Thane's; the literally broke the character apart, there's no relation between the solid, straight-arrow Jacob of ME2 and the Jacob in ME3, who I can't characterise without getting banned, probably!

And Jack, Miranda and Samara, as well? I mean, not everyone wanted to romance Liara, Tali or Kaidan-my Shepard's Kaidan has been dead since ME1 and, given I read he hits on Shepard after Thane is dead, I am rather glad I killed him off now! Nothing against Liara, Ashley, Kaidan, Tali, Garrus, they're all characters I like, after all-sorry if I forget anyone-but at least the other romances should have got equal treatment!

Us too!  I think there are issues other than the endings, but the endings are just taking up so much forum space that it's hard not to get lost in them!

And I agree that while people are disappointed with aspects of the game, most would be willing to pay for DLC/expansions that "fix" their issues - or at least make them more bearable!

Ok, double post, but I had to post this here - it's what someone thought would have been a wonderful Thane scene/moment.

Here come my thoughts:

Shep gets Thanes PN, immediately rushes to the Citadel to see him. When meeting Thane at the patient lounge they hug, share a passionate kiss, telling they missed each other so much, maybe saying "I love you". After this there could be some dialog about what happened in last 6 month and about Thanes bad condition.
Now Shep wonders if there would be a chance for some "privacy" but Thane regrets - he feels to weak. So Shep says it is okay for her and comes up with her gift: She hands him a snowdome which in fact here is a sanddome because it shows a desert.

Shep: I promised you to bring you to a desert. And I always keep my promises.**gives him the sanddome**

Thane: **looks at it, maybe remembers the scene where they talked about the desert in ME 2, smiles with tears in his eyes - she didn't forget. Instead of answering he kisses her softly. **

Shep: Maybe there is a way we can have our privacy. You can recall your memories of our first night together and me ... **first kisses, then licks his breast** ... can have this to get my moments.
**now the player has the choice to wether see Thanes memories of the night before the Omega 4 relay with a complete romance scene or Sheps halluzinations about having their romantical scene - both scenes done the way ones for the VS LI scenes are**.

Well, that are my thoughts. Hope you like it and don't think I am crazy.

Cosmochyk told me I should post this here so here I'm.
It is a little scene I had in mind to the question: what would happen if Kaidan met Thane on the Normandy (if they both were in the squad). Since I'm french and not use english all time I would ask for your forgiveness about my mistakes:

First I must explain that my shepard have been so chocked about kaidan reactions on Horizon in ME2 that she would avoid him in anyways possible. She deleted his mail of "apologising but not much" and the only good thing about the alliance stealing MY normandy (theirs have exploded long ago) was they removed his face down picture.
SO she snaped at him on Earth the day she was being interogated and she snapped at him every time she had to speak to him. Dense Kaidan as he is couldn't take it clear so he would continue to look at her with deer eyes.
She was only interested in running to the citadel hospital when she got Thane's mail and she have not gone see Kaidan. She had turned the page. So in eventuality of Thane joining the crew she would even offering Thane to come in her room, and of course Kaidan would feel he had something to say:

-Kaidan: "Sooo what do you mean when calling Shepard Siha? I have been told you have been close before she got jailed?(jealous trying to get info)
Thane, who was standing hands in back looking the wall of honor, turn to face him with his poker face and answer cooly:
-Thane: It is something you should discuss with Shepard isn't it ?

Kaidan feel the dread invade his heart, and start to feel pissed he could not get his answer. Insecurity lead him to stupid things like always.
-Kaidan: It is You I'm asking this, not Shepard. What are you trying to obtain? You are ill, is that what you think is good for her? To be with a crippled Drell for the end of her time? Do you even know how much she is fragile behind her hardened commander face ?? I knew her first! What did you do for her anyway?

Thane have hidden his amusement and checked if his jacket collar was properly put while he listened the silly human making a fool of himself. Wich annoyed more Kaidan who made one step in the direction to Thane, pointing a finger to him.
-Kaidan:Why don't you answer to me? You don't even care enough for her to defend your place at her side ?

Thane didn't move and let a smile tug at the corner of his mouth:
-Thane: I don't have to "defend my place" at her side.
-Kaidan: Why she is caring for such a cold being like you is beyond my mind!
-Thane: that I agree with you.
-Kaidan: Glad you finally admi...Wait..you agree on what part ?
-Thane: Wich one you prefer to believe?

Angry Kaidan lose it all and try to punch Thane, who just dodge easyly the fist by slightly steping on side.
-Thane: I would not try this M.Alenko, you could get injured again.
-Kaidan: get injured AGAIN? Are you trying to ****** me off ? That's it!
Kaidan is beyond control and start to glow one hand blue to attack again Thane with biotic charge.

-Thane: tss all this is waste of time and all time I have is for my Siha.

The words of "my siha" hit Kaidan badly and make him fumble a little bit while attacking .
He arrive where Thane was standing a second ago to find it empty.
Surprise written on his face he turn himself back trying to find the assasin.
Before he could do anything more, Thane suddenly appeared behind him, an arm snaked around his throat, applying enough pressure to stop him from emit a sound and keep him semi conscient.
He spoke with a cold, low voice, close to Kaidan's ear, his deep rumbling imprinting his words in his skin:

-Thane: So you want answers MR. Alenko? I will tell you what you need to know only once so listen carefully: You have lost your right to protect Shepard long time ago when you let her die alone on this ship, in place to put her on your shoulder and got her into an escape pod.
You have burried the last hope of redemption after this, in yelling at her on Horizon and failing her when she most needed allies. Ask yourself the size of your sentimental involvement with her for turning your supposed love down, without listening her.
While aliens like Garrus Vakarian and Tali zora vas Normandy have joined her as soon they recognised her.
I have been here for her when she needed. She have awaken me from my war trance. She helped me in reuniting with my son. She helped me to atone for my bads. She is my warrior angel. Even if one day she didn't want me in her life anymore, I would carry her in my heart for ever and even after. And I would still protect all of her, her body and her soul till my last sparckle of life.
Feeling the tension in Kaidan leaving, he released a little bit his pressure on the carotid and added:

-Thane: Shepard is not an object to own. Her choices are to be respected.

Kaidan did a strange garggled noise when Thane released him and felt on the floor, panting and feeling all deezy.

-Kaidan: ok you've made your point.

But Thane was gone already. 
Edit:Eheheh even Kaidan got  owned by a badly ill drell...

I put this up on the Protesting Thane's Poor Romance thread, but thought it would fit in nicely here.  Maybe other ME2 'mancers (Jacobmancer's, Jackmancer's, ect...) can add their own lists to this thread.  Hope I'm not stepping on your toes Cosmo.....let me know if I'm out of line.

So I thought I would put up a new wish list.
*Note: I admit to having little to no belief that these things will happen, but......take it as you will.

Reasonable changes to Thane romance (IMHO)

1) Picture of Thane in Shep's cabin.

2) Fix of animated/graphic issues with hand holding and kissing (especially the interupt kiss. Mine was really wonky.)

3) Give us the damn Paramour Achievement. It could be triggered simply by choosing the "private time" option. Who cares if someone wants to get together with Kaiden or one of the ladies later. Their choice, and it shouldn't negate those that wish to stay true to Thane. And honestly, if I remeber correctly, the cheevo doesn't state specifically who you were with when you got it. (admit I could be wrong on that, but again, who cares....)

4) Give us another letter from say Kolyat or the VS in regards to our involvement with Thane. I figure this at least would be something to indicate that others saw our relationship with him, and give us a moment to believe that others care about Thane's passing. I say letter since it would probably be to difficult to add in new dialogue scenes. Throw us a bone.

5) Give us the proper flashback.....no default to LIARA! How hard would it be to throw in a couple of old stills from ME2 for god sakes. If need be, this community could easily provide them.....sheesh!

6) Add back any/all cut scenes (if any are to be had) involving Thane. More screen time please!

7) Codex Entry!!!! Silly that that wasn't even there.


As for somewhat unreasonable (but still wanted) wishes, I of course would love the following, but know there isn't a chance in purgatory of them happening.

1) New thoughtful dialogue from Shep. More options so we can properly role play our Shepards (she ain't mine anymore)

2) Get Thane on the Normandy. Preferred if he stayed, of course, but even a visit.

3) OPTION to extend Thane's life and keep him alive even after fight with Kai Leng.

4) Actual dialogue scenes with sqadmates in regards to relationship with Thane and should he die, his death.

Again, I don't believe we will get any of this, but I think keeping our wish lists alive on this thread, may point out exactly what they could have done to honor a well loved ROMANCE character. (emphasising the romance part since so many people think we are crazy for not likely his death scene and all.....)

That is all for now......thoughts?

may i also add that even another conversation with kolyat about the thane romance might have helped.  or, as mentioned above, a letter?  surely kolyat would either know or be curious about thane's final prayer being for shep.

I'm happy to see all this Jack support. Her support in ME2 was harsh, in the sense everyone either hated her and killed her off during the suicide mission or was indifferent to her character and just called her a B*tch. I'm glad to see her fan base is growing.

Jack was a great character - as were all the ME2 squaddies!
Their treatment in ME3 is horrific and abysmal.
I'd love to see a romance DLC that fixes all the issues and gives everyone some more screen/alone time with their love!
