In short,
there are no descriptions in the labeling of the (seperations by classifications in visual labeling)+ of whether something is a tech power, or a combat power.
This is in reference to EDI's ability:
>>>Unshackled AI
>>>>exeption/Rank 4: Increase power damage by 20%
>>>> " Rank 5: Increase tech power damage by 30%
----------------------]
There is a listed algorythm here,
http://masseffect.wi...com/wiki/Powers , however as the notion base of dungeons and dragons is evolved over decades there should be some indication of the difference, visually, in game, as to whether a power is tech, or power; albiet as well 'power' is very vague in itself, requiring further syntax to correctly convey my argument.

That makes especially little sense for EDI since all of her powers are tech based to begin with.
What you can do is, before upgrading Unshackled AI, note the damage of her various powers, invest int the next rank, then note the damage again. As long as you don't hit "Confirm" you can undo any points you invested without issue.
