I highly doubt Geoff made stuff up. If he did, bioware should clarify. If he didn't...how is this different from any other rage the forum has had? Its always been about the endings.

This really starting to feel like war I imagine

It really is a "war against the Makers" at this point. I'm just surprised that the BSN has actually united on something for once.

Really the last couple of hours have made me turn against some of this "hold the line" stuff. At this point people are defending others who are being more than rude to the developers and mods here and that is just wrong. I didn't like the endings either, but a lot of what has happened in the last little while just goes against the whole, "We're being civil, not immature" idea.

Poor show that after days of fans asking for answers regarding the ending, the information was given to a journalist so he could publish an app and charge us £2.

That forum will be restarted shortly. I am dealing with an issue in  thread that needs to pause the forum.

Thanks for your patience it will restart soon.

And here I had a post all ready to talk about my favorite part of ME3.
<_<
Ah well, I saw what needed dealing with, and, well, it needed dealing with.

I don't envy your position, hold the line Mr. Priestly.

Don't worry, Mr Priestly, your job is going to be much easier in the future because you guys won't have much of a community if ME3's endings are left alone.

I really wish people would stop attacking the staff, calling someone an imbecile, is not exactly making a positive point in any discussion.

I understand if people are worked up over this, believe me I'm as well.

Just take into account that this is an official bioware forum and you'll see they are actually treating criticism quite generously.
On other boards you couldn't post threads with 50 pages just critizicing everything they do.

I couldn't agree more.

Let's cool down and then continue the discussion.

So do you guys think the next bioware game will sell as much as ME3?

People, you are really overdoing it here.
We'll only get sympathy as long as we protest in a reasonable manner.

Getting all worked up about a short time lock down is exaggerating, really.

How long is it going to be locked for? 30 mins? More? Enough to purge the database of that forum topic et all? I understand trying to get a hold of a situation, but locking the forum is like throwing gasoline on a fire, shutting the door and thinking that the fire will just go away.

I would love to see quotes of people abusing the staff. The worst I saw were people saying Walters losing his job, which all in all, is what happens when you fail to perform your job properly. It's not an abusive statement. Also why would anyone attack the person who made the apps, the quotes are from the developers. Bioware needs to stop acting like a child, trying to put the blame on someone else.

I know you have a tough job, Chris. But locking down an entier section because of one rogue thread is a tad draconian, no?

Would have been easier to go get people's attention by locking the thread and posting a new sticky on top where we could all see it.

I'll admit I feel bad for Chris. He's a messenger, he's not pulling any strings at BioWare.

While I don't approve of BioWare's lack or response or any solid attempts at reaching out beyond cryptic "We hear you!" messages, I can't blame Chris for getting frustrated with people. It's a forum, things get angry. In real life people would be stepping out to get some air.

When things have cooled a little, be polite. We can continue the push but we need to ensure we're not just flaming wildly or going off topic or resorting to spam.

^This.

Also keep in mind that devs are legally obligated not to reveal information until they get the go-ahead from Upper Management.

It's quite likely that said Upper Management is still flailing around trying to decide what to do, and want to wait until they've had reviews in from every country it's been released to before making a statement.

Hardly satisfactory, but getting shirty with people whose hands are tied won't solve anything.

App or no app, content or no content.. people should learn to control themselves a bit more. Nothing is gained by yelling. I have to thank Chris for being way more tolerant (than probably I would have been in his shoes) because there have been a fair amount of cursing going on. Even amongst more civil people. Thanks for that. ... But still. try to control yourself folks. Creates a better and more creative atmosphere.

Either way the cursing gets filtered out automatically by the language filter, so I don't see the issue here that requires locking down an entire forum section for using curse words that you can't even see.

I loooove how they tried to play it off as something cool, when the whole time they were scrambling banging their heads against their desks uttering guttural wales of "WHY DID WE BOTCH IT SO BAD??"

Maybe you should get it through your head that the app is not from BioWare. They did NOT create it. Maybe then you'll see the error of your ways.

BioWare is promoting the app on Facebook.

The app claims to have exclusive insider knowledge, including video interviews with the creative team.

So, at the very least, BioWare had some say in the content of the app.

You don't get access to film behind the scenes footage if they aren't on board.

Exactly. Wow, Bioware, way to lose your fanbase. Before this I had funds set away for ME 3 DLC and Was concidering DA3 when it comes out. Then The ME3 ending. Then being ignored by Bioware. Now this.

Say Bye bye to the money Bioware, say good bye to the stock prices, bye bye~

They were a tad pissed off but its hard not to be. Did a few cross the line, you can't argue they didn't. Did it warrant the response on the whole by shutting down that entire section? No, it didn't. What he should have done was ban those 5 people, I mean, its only 5!

Agreed, Chris is a single employee. Don't lash out at him, and please keep it civil. i'm just as angry as everyone else (if not moreso, I own a ton of ME merch I'm considering burning), but we cannot turn into a frothing mob.

Keep it civil, and hold the line my friends  :wizard:

I understand why you're angry guys. I don't think this is the best course of action either. But getting enraged and making personal attacks aren't helping.

Hold the line! Hold it with dignity!

As far as I can tell it has nothing to do with the content in the app or thread. It has everything to do with some people unable to control their emotions.
