App or no app, content or no content.. people should learn to control themselves a bit more. Nothing is gained by yelling. I have to thank Chris for being way more tolerant (than probably I would have been in his shoes) because there have been a fair amount of cursing going on. Even amongst more civil people. Thanks for that. ... But still. try to control yourself folks. Creates a better and more creative atmosphere.

Agreed, Chris is a single employee. Don't lash out at him, and please keep it civil. i'm just as angry as everyone else (if not moreso, I own a ton of ME merch I'm considering burning), but we cannot turn into a frothing mob.

Keep it civil, and hold the line my friends  :wizard:

So do you guys think the next bioware game will sell as much as ME3?

I don't know, the question is, how far this is gonna spread, they already had troubles in the community with DA2, if this gets around, sees more press, gets on some news, it will really harm them after a while.

Especially since it actually seems to already start to have an influence on selling ME3.

People, you are really overdoing it here.
We'll only get sympathy as long as we protest in a reasonable manner.

Getting all worked up about a short time lock down is exaggerating, really.

This. We won't ever get anywhere if we act like dicks. Get your point across in a civil and reasonable manner.

Hold the line.

I was super surprised when I saw that I couldn't post. Does anyone know what specifically happened other than just "people were breaking the rules"?

Looks like someone didn't get the whole Quarian and Geth fleets...

Well it started with:

1) Someone posts previews of images and comments by devs regarding the planning process of the endings by an app recently released. Pretty much they meant the endings. :pinched:
2) I don't believe this!
3) How can they do this!!!!!!!!
    HOLD THE LINE!
4) LOTS OF CUSSING!
5) LOTS OF INSULTS
6) Returning all kinds of games and cancelling subscriptions~
7) THIS IS WAR!
     HOLD THE LINE
8) Forum Lock! ASSUMING CONTROL!
9) LINE IS BROKEN!
10) We're here talking about this.

I would love to see quotes of people abusing the staff. The worst I saw were people saying Walters losing his job, which all in all, is what happens when you fail to perform your job properly. It's not an abusive statement. Also why would anyone attack the person who made the apps, the quotes are from the developers. Bioware needs to stop acting like a child, trying to put the blame on someone else.

Try reading this thread to find at least one.

Really I just can't believe this whole thing turned out this way. I guess it makes sense since people are still going through the stages of grief. First they were in denile and thinking there would definitely be more. Now they're just angry.

Well this (talking about the development details from that iOS -game.) just strengthens my believes that Bioware has pretty much gone "in the dark side" after years of being in control of EA. I truly hope they bring new ending(s), but now it seems much more unlikely.

I just hope Bioware will not have the same faith what Westwood had back in the early 00's.

"Holding the Line" in internet solidarity does NOTHING by itself. You have to rate this game appropriately on websites like amazon. Consumers have to influence sales if they want a desirable product.

Chris never said they didn't give access to Gametrailers for the App. Chris never said the info in the App didn't belong to BioWare. Chris said they never created the goddamned App! He said BioWare's not responsible for charging money for it. And you know what, he's 100% right!

You're telling me if Gametrailers gets an inside scoop on something and decides to sell that inside access as some kind of "Behind the Scenes" exclusive, it's BioWare's fault for providing that access in the first place?

Isn't there an age restriction to posting in these forums? Because some people here are acting like 5 year olds.

Amen, this incident just made me NEVER want to give another penny to Bioware ever again, what happened to not biting the hand that feeds you? We give Bioware money, we feed them, they do this.

Ah well, there are companies more deserving of my funds, Like Valve and Sqare Enix.

Careful; it might be a techinal issue for all we know.
I'm not defending Bioware, but we can't risk loosing all the respecatability we've gained these past days by boiling over.

Note; I know I quoted you two, but it was more to everyone in general.

one thing that does bother me, why didn't make a sticky of his post so everyone can actually see it, rather then dig for it? That was a tad bit emotional i think heh.

They were a tad pissed off but its hard not to be. Did a few cross the line, you can't argue they didn't. Did it warrant the response on the whole by shutting down that entire section? No, it didn't. What he should have done was ban those 5 people, I mean, its only 5!

To be honest this has nothing to do with the thread alone. This has to do with recent developments. Over the past months Bioware employees have been getting a lot of personal attacks. You try working in that enviroment. I'd say they are trying to hammer home, definitively, that zero tolerence is in place.

It's just making an example out of the most recent occurance of over-the-top rage.

At least the mods will have an easier time if BW never fixes the endings as the community will probably be about half of what it is now or fewer.

I would, as many others, suggest and recommend that people keep themselves level-headed. I can use platitudes like "it's just a game" and so on but the basic tenet is that we achieve nothing by being overly angry and resort to outright insults and shenanigans.

So please, as a personal plea from me, keep yourselves at best behavior. However much you want the 'chance' to tell Chris or whomever 'how you feel' - do so with the polite and good behavior that can actually encourage any change. Screaming and using insults will not gain anyone anything.

What happened to the Anti-ending people who protested peacefully?

Didn't Troll or insult, or cuss or anything. Just said "Hold the Line" and looked at articles. We were acting like adults for soooo long, then an app not even RELEASED by Bioware comes out, and everyone has a **** fit.

Come on guys, don't turn into the thing the media calls us. We can rise above that.

Or you know, just put ****s in your signature, I don't care anymore. I'm disgusted by what the movement has turned into.

Oh wow, I was convinced, for a moment, that I stepped over the line somewhere and got banned without notification.
Made me wonder just how thin the ice is here. Glad to see this is something affecting the whole forum. Though it makes me wonder why.

I hope that, as regrettable as it is that some people have been giving abuse to the bioware employees, it has at least got them to realise how we feel about this whole ending fiasco. Continuing to hold the line, no matter the forum!

I really wish people would stop attacking the staff, calling someone an imbecile, is not exactly making a positive point in any discussion.

I understand if people are worked up over this, believe me I'm as well.

Just take into account that this is an official bioware forum and you'll see they are actually treating criticism quite generously.
On other boards you couldn't post threads with 50 pages just critizicing everything they do.

You must be new to the internet.

Or we simply aren't on the same boards.
There are lots of boards with very restrictive mods, the guys here are nothing compared to that.

Not good, shutting down forums and what not is just going to make people angrier. For their sake, and the sake of Mass Effect, I hope it technical difficulties...

Well I'd also bet that all those posts popping up constantly just take up a lot of code. Forum storage isn't infinite. So if everybody is having this problem, then it's likely a server side problem they're trying to fix.

I'd believe them trying to "shut people up" if they deleted the section entirely. Of course, the children wont understand coding so they will be a little upset wondering why they can't post there. But anybody with a sense of understanding would/should pick up on it.
