Some people think their opinion matters when they don't know a s**t about it. Sad truth.

Well... People didnt take them seriously at first either but they have still generated quite a media stirr and gotten attention to themselves and their wishes. Not too shabby.

Millions of people also bought Twilight and paid a billion dollars to see the sh!tty movies.  Do you know how many people you could feed with a billion goddamned dollars?  Should I take these cultural illiterates seriously?  Are you fuk'n kidding me?  In the vast stagnant sewer Americans call "culture" you're worried about the ending of a game, which most acknowledge as being 99% brilliant - when Hollywood and TV thinks you're all retarded and will mindlessly watch anything they flatulate through a screen? Where guys in their 20's and 30's watch ponies and Pokemon?  Are you fuk'n kidding me?!

That's beyond spoiled.  I don't know a word for it, but...  it just makes my head hurt.

Why in hell should I or anyone with three functioning brain cells and an ounce of taste care about something so ceaselessly trivial?  Will all future games come with a "bend-over-and-take-it-like-a-Beiber-if-you-want-to-play" clause if I don't march with my fist out in this Grand Gamer Movement?  Seriously?

....I gotta go build an electronic thumb.  Oh, man, do I ever.

Well, that is the problem with freedom of expression; the ignorant think their opinions are just as valid as the facts.

You know, after reading your rant, mine (one page back) just doesn't cut it anymore. And I even was a little bit proud of it. ^_^

Anyway, to be clear, I agree with the sentiment.

I don't get why the folks writing these articles keep falling back on "Artistic license" and such. Atristic license is fine. Not following your own lore or continuity after getting folks invested in that very thing for several years is not artisic license; it is careless, poor writing. The analogy provided (this is the second article I've seen use it) is flawed because in that book/movie the author had followed his own lore/continuity and she didn't like it. She wanted him to stray from it to get what she wanted. Mass Effect fans who did not like the ending want the exact opposite.

If you want a realistic version of the analogy to be applied to this scenario then Bioware is Annie, and they held the fans captive, and took a hammer to them for supporting the lore/continuty.

BLOODY SCREEN!SO REAL!!!
Sorry that has nothing to do with this but there is a point in this article.

It's tough when you invest a lot of yourself into a continuing entertainment property and find yourself truly let down by it. I spent so much time and mental energy on ] and the ending of the series left me furious. But that was the ending that Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse wanted. I hated it, I critiqued it, but I accepted that this was the way the guys who were telling the story wanted the story to end. The storyteller isn't your dancing monkey, taking cues and peanuts from you. The storyteller is an artist, and you're consuming his art. You can choose not to consume it, or if you don't like the art you've consumed you can stop consuming future works. But you can't tell him to go back and change the thing you didn't like. It's sort of psychotic.

People who do not play the Mass Effect series, have not played Mass Effect 3 and/or have not seen the endings have no right to criticise the people who have and are angry about the endings.

There are nearly 50'000 votes on that poll- and it has been linked all over the internet. If you believe this is a "vocal minority" at this point you are deluding yourself. If it is then the biggest bloody "vocal minority" I've ever seen.

I've looked at many other websites, and from what I can see the reactrion there is the same. Facebook, Youtube, the comments on every video and likes on the various Mass Effect groups all show the same thing: People are unhappy with the endings.

Its simple folks. Next time Bioware announces their new DLC which looks to be on April 6-8th somewhere, if it doesnt fix the ending, simply state here on the forums that you wont waste your money until the ending is worthy of its title. Thats what I'm doing and I dont really care how great the DLC's look when the ending was so awful I'll never play ME again. In fact I just recently talked a friend out of buying it (he hasnt played any of them). All I had to do was show him how upset people were over the ending. Money talks - dont buy bioware till they own up to their mistakes.

I have seen the ending and I'm no part of the 50'000 like a lot of people here and elsewhere. 50'000 people is still a vocal minority as long as you don't get 1 million. I'l only join you if you can get that much B)

The poll is only a sample from the population though, and a pretty damn large sample at that. Yes, the 50'000 is a minority but I have a strong feeling that the number of people who disliked Mass Effect 3's ending is the majority. I've seen no evidence of significantly large numbers of people liking the endings, and person after person is on these forums and other websites complaining about them. Theres vocal minority, and theres theres just a plain majority.

Well, fan base yes.  If you go beyond the gates of BSN, you will see that the feeling that they 'screwed up' is only between the 75-85% range.  (Yeah, only-lol)

I would post links-but I risk getting the thread locked if I do.
