I'd remember Deception
Deception is not even a damn game, it is a friggin book
Which went as far as release under the Bioware name.
So? Bioware is a video game developer, they just contracted some guy to write the book but probably picked the wrong guy but that is neither here nor there. Bioware makes video games the books are just a little extra for die hard fans. Your average video game playing shmuck probably doesn't read the books.

I would doubt. I'd maybe try a demo and pirate the game to test it, but sure as hell wouldn't preorder it yet.
At least you aren't completely writing them off and you are willing to actual research any future content before condemning it.

If'd you had me asked before the DA2-fiasco and the newest ME-game, where they just screwed over the game series just by the ending (I still can't understand how they managed that), I'd say 'Yes, I'd preorder'. I've always been trying to give devs the benefit of the doubt (although I can be very vocal and negative at times), so since Bioware has got a good history up to a certain point, I am still willing to give them the benefit of doubt. However, if they manage to screw up the next game, it remains to be seen whether I'll still give them the benefit of doubt - Bioware has changed, and a promising IP-line (Dragon Age-universe based games) already got demolished a bit (it could have been so succesfull, if not for the haphazard storyline and other major faults of DA2).
Whether it be EA's influence or not, Bioware has changed - and in my opinion, not for the better.

I will say that they have earned a far more critical eye from me toward what they do in the future.

Which was made by a different dev team. Fans are irrational. Mass Effect consisted of three awesome games so yeah any future games made by them would catch my interest. I won't let 5 minutes out of dozens and dozens of hours change that.
5 Minutes?
Did you forget about the fact you spent a long period of time building up tangible assets that didn't matter in the least?
The entire final mission as several have stated doesn't even take into account your assets and the fleet... oh gosh nor does that.
DA2 has some of the same issues ME3 has, and let's not forget about TOR.
I like TOR and DA 2 was made by a different DEV team and most of their issues are not found in ME 3.
I'll go 1 further. I still like TOR, and I still like DA2.
The difference between the DA2 ending and the ME3 ending is, DA2 was a tragedy. All the way through the story, from the very moment it begins, DA2 was a tragedy. There was NO massive ton shift when you got to the last scene in the game.

The road to hell is paved with good intentions, so I think I wont travel down good intention road knowing full in well it lead down to hell. Extream example asside, the ending is what ties everything together. Books have done this before and people have boycotted them for them. Games are diffrent because your in control, and that is an understatement in the ME games. No one is saying you should be angry and by all means love the game, but those of us who hated it have our opinions as well. The whole point of the game for me was to see how my shepard would do considering all my past choices and for that not to mean anything would mean that my past choices doesnt amount to anything in the long run.KotorEffect3 wrote...

That would mean it's the team that brought me KOTOR, ME1, ME2, and ME3.
I'm pretty sure that just because I'm not totally stoked on 15 minutes of one of those games means I'd be willing to deprive myself of whatever awesomeness they're cooking up next.
Exactly, but the irrational idiots that want to bring down bioware would rather just focus on a few minutes of one game instead of the hundreds of hours of gameplay in these other games.
But this is my opinion so take it for what you will.

Actually I will seriously doubt anything that comes from Bioware from now on.
Too bad, they used to be a good company.

Post ME2 I would consider this label irrelevant, I would only check on the game if the style/background picked my interest.
I'll tell you about post ME3 once I'm able to play the game with my fully imported Shepard(s).

why stop buying products because of one 15 minute scene in one game? Mass Effect still has pride in it.freshtoothpaste wrote...
... how would you react to that? I'm leaning torwards, "I probably won't buy another buy another game by this team as things stand right now." Although I am in the "95% of ME3 is pretty cool," camp myself.
I'm playing through ME3 one more time, to do all the side quests, but I'm probably done after this unless something nifty happens to the end.
If you're feeling dissatisfied with the ending to ME3, how will you react to playing other games by the same creative folks? At this point, would you buy another game?

I'll continue to consume Mass Effect games, books, etc so long as they don't destroy the canon.
The only thing that has been noted as potentially breaking character canon is Mass Effect: Deception but I guess that is what you get when you settle for less with the author that was chosen to write that particular novel.
So long as Bioware don't pull a Halo and start milking and destroying their franchise, I'm keen to stick around

It's his money, you have no right to criticize him for how he chooses to use it just as long as he isn't breaking any laws.

You do know that after ME3 the canon, lore, tech, and even the races are no longer the same after the dark age reset button, right? Just making sure you know the reprecuessions the ending has brought by ending the ME Universe.
