why stop buying products because of one 15 minute scene in one game?  Mass Effect still has pride in it.

For me, because the last 15 minutes took the fun out of the game and left me unsatisfied - even though this game was built up as the biggest, best in the series. So, I don't trust very much at this point. In hindsight, it was unwise to preorder ME3.

personally i buy jrpgs first then check what beth/bioware/other have out im a huge rpg fan :) that hasnt changed and wont change. The mass effect series and elder scrolls 5 are the only games i got on launch outside of games by square-enix otherwise i tend to wait for the games i buy to be cheap just personal preference i guess. so seing bioware made a game wont really effect me unless they come out with another series as epic as mass effect and hopefully have a better ending. I'll pre-order then.
as for me3 im not buying any dlc that arent mp or free till i see that the ending is fixed which i will pay for. After i dl the fixed ending i see no problem dl'ing all other dlc. its still a great game all round except the ending i just don't see why i should put more money into the main story till its conclusion is worthwhile, once it is i see no problem with it

I blindly bought Bioware games up till DA2 and TOR. And I didn't regret it..until that point. DA2 was not worthy of BW and TOR was worse. ME3 I had to get regardless because I was so invested in the story. But not again. I don't know what changed in the last few years I really don't. This doesn't seem to be the same company that I've followed since I was a kid, that gave me Baldur's Gate, Neverwinter Nights, Icewind Dale, KoTOR and ME1.

They are still a good company, but that is only when compared to the rest..and those are awful.

Although I'd have preferred another ending, the majority of ME3 was incredible. It's hardly a just call to write off an entire game just because the last 5 minutes of their previous work didn't satisfy you. TL;DR I'd probably pre-order.

I'd probably buy it. I'm not butthurt like the rest of you folks. Sure...the ending left a sour taste in my mouth....but it didn't ruin the franchise for me. I still enjoy Bioware's games.

Yeah, they wouldn't possible do worse the next time... and try to milk revenue streams at the expense of the out-of-box experience... would they?

Personally, they have to change their direction so I know I'm getting the complete game (yet alone that the game itself has to be good).

I'm not for paying $60 for 75% of the game... then paying for the rest of it via DLC months later.  That kind of dev cost cutting while lying through the teeth to their customers about it doesn't really sit well with me.

That was Black Isle now Obsidian.

If you have not checked it out Fallout:New Vegas complete (with all DLC) is well worth a look.

Provided its a series/genre/setting that I'm interested in, buy the game, and then roll eyes at the nerdragers.who will end up buying it anyway despite their whining now.

If "Jade Empire 2" doesn't come after those advertising words then I'm probably not buying it.

You're right.  I will buy it, used.  Capcom has been on the buy used list for a long time now, it looks like it will soon have company.

Exactly, but the irrational idiots that want to bring down bioware would rather just focus on a few minutes of one game instead of the hundreds of hours of gameplay in these other games.

Gameplay?  What does that have to do with anything?  This is BioWare, it's the story that sells the games and makes them memorable, not the gameplay, and any semi-competent writer will tell you that botching the ending is the worst thing you can do in a story.  And this ending was botched to epic proportions.

Well it was about choice as well.  After the ending you realize it was all an illusion.

I was rather unimpressed by Dragon Age II, and wasn't really excited about Mass Effect 3 and decided not to preorder after the lackluster demo. I ended up buying Mass Effect 3 on the recommendation of a friend whose advice I trust, and though it was quite a fun experience right up to the last fifteen minutes or so, I expect that future games, who will likely have stories that I'm not already invested in, will be a much harder sell.

But Jade Empire was written by Luke and Mike, who are both on the DA team. And Kevin Martens (who was the lead designer) I think works for Blizzard now (or somebody stole his name; either way, he's not a BioWare employee anymore that I'm aware of).

I suppose this team could do it, but would it really be Jade Empire?

I would be rather cautious, and likely wait for gamer/fan comments before I bought it. I no longer trust most gaming review sites. This isn't just about ME3 really, though. DA2 was mediocre, TOR is the same. It had potential, but after one playthrough on each faction I can't be bothered to really roll alts. The class stories are (mostly) good. Consular was dull. But the side quests make up the much vast majority of quests and they're not that interesting. Even with that vaunted VA work. I'm still subbed to it, but if 1.2 doesn't seriously deliver, I'm done with it, too.

ME3, it wasn't just the endings for me. The entire group of ME2 romances got the shaft to some degree or other, and there were myriad smaller issues that just made me feel like I was playing in some Alternate Reality of the ME 'verse, instead of the one from the first two games. Something about it just wasn't connecting for me, and that was even before I gave up after hearing about the endings, and how they in their own words 'dropped the ball' on something major to do with Thane, and aborted my play through. Autodialogue sometimes just isn't what my Shepard would say, the low res textures on my PC version is just another insult to injury on top of how abysmal the textures are on a vast majority of things in TOR.

Three separate teams under one company and all three have let me down to some degree. So yes, I am going to be much more cautious from now on.
