No. Unless you look at the game's quality in respect to the ending. I'd say it's one of the biggest downfalls of all time in that sense.

If things are as I believe they are, and I think Bioware capable of it, the ending is just great, and Bioware's only fault is to leave their players indoctrinated when the game ends, rather than tell them that they fell for it.

I can say this, because I chose the Red ending.

No.

Although that would make it a bit better, the ending is still drowning in plot holes and a lack of your decisions matter at all.

it was probably the biggest "letdown" of an ending if you're taking into account the amount of anticipation for the game; the pre-orders, the post-release sales, media attention, past records (me1/me2), and of course you can't forget the pompously high expectations of BSN... then yeah, it kinda sucked kittyballs.

but of all time? absolutely not. even gears of war 3 had a worse ending imo... the whole third game did not answer ANYTHING.

tbh, all 3 games were so great that "worst-ending-of-all-time" didn't even cross my mind even if i was disappointed. all 3 games were some of the best gaming moments i could ever ask for and i try to focus on the positives at a situation like this. plus, i'd say with all the uproar, an ending dlc is quite inevitable.

Not the worst overall by far. But relative to the quality of the preceding work? It's right there.

Out of all the games I've played? Oh yeah, big time. But it's probably not the worst out there. I just can't comment based on my own experience with the games I've played. Generally if a game seems bad, I stop playing long before the ending.

I mean, c'mon. Sonic Adventure had a more fulfilling ending than this.

No I wouldn't say worst, I have played other games were it was garbage ... ME3 ending was unclear resulting in pissed off fans ... fans want closure and resolution from the choices made in the game

Ah, brilliant.  I love how so many of Bioware's own creations are being co-opted by us.

If not the worst, it is definitely the most disappointing.

Even Karnov on the NES only said "Congratulation" but at least it didn't actively detract from the game.

If you consider the 3 games, 5 years, and 100s of hours of gameplay people have put into this whole series then yes it is the worst ending of all time.

Definitely one of them. Ninja Gaiden II's was pretty bad though.

It's pretty damn bad. I'd say that even the 1986 NES title Pro Wrestling has a better ending:

Considering how the rest of the game plays out and you can see your choices having an impact and the variation from game to game only to get rounded up into the same killing chute of an ending every single time where your own personal protagonist preceeds to hit one of three buttons and has an ending that has already been upstaged by the sacrifices and endings of Mordin, Legion, Anderson, Thane, Ashley/Kaidan, et al ... Yeah, the ending sucks especially when none of the questions are answered only more are asked and nothing you see makes any damn sense at all ... Yeah, this has to be the worst ending I've ever played to in a video game.

It's pretty damn bad, given the level of build up and quality in the past titles. Hell yes the ending is the worst.

It's certainly the worst video game ending I've ever seen - and easily the most disappointing.

In terms of sheer awfulness? Probably not.
In terms of the gap between the quality of the rest of the product and the quality of the ending? Can't think of anything worse.

Not even close. Ever heard of Borderlands?

Borderlands has massive replayability.

ME3's ending kills all replayability for the entire series.

Notice a difference?

Borderlands story was never strong.

ME had a story which had been developed through several games over the course of years

Notice a difference?

This.
The entire plot of Borderlands can be safely ignored without diminishing the fun of blowing up midgets with zany weaponry. It's not the same for ME

The only RPG that I can think of would be the 3rd chapter of the Witcher 2 which was very disappointing.
