It does bother me sometimes, as I'm competitive in nature. I always have to be in first place else I'll feel like I didn't perform as well as I should. Don't get me wrong though, I'm not going to grab my pitchfork and rage over someone stealing my kill.

Yes I do know that it's a coop game and in the end it really doesn't matter how much kills you get since both xp/credits are shared. This is just who I am I guess... xD

I always though XP was shared? I don't mind someone stealing a kill as long as it doesn't hurt our overall performance.
e.g. If I've used stasis on one enemy, and there are plenty of other enemies around, and I have a warp about to detonate it, DON'T SNIPE HIM!
If there is no one else to kill then I say go nuts.

The main problems I have with kill stealing is:
-Shooting enemies in a singularity (why?! I'm about to explode it and take out the whole area.. there are plenty of other targets to shoot at, and they aren't twirling around so they are even easier to shoot at?!).
-Knocking people out of a singularity *stares at soldiers firing concussion shots*
-Above mentioned statis problem. This is especially bad when it is something like a phantom at point blank, and someone breaks the statis but fails to kill the phantom

Strangely enough I've played 1 game where not enough kill stealing was happening.. (At the end of a wave we would all just stand there with a couple frozen enemies, each expecting the other person take them down)

Hrmm... So in conclusions, does kill stealing bother me? Not in it self no; does poor co-operation bother me, yes

b.t.w I had an interesting game the other day, I was a human engineer spamming overload and an asari adept was spamming a high level throw. I would get ~0 kills (which was the plan), but I would stun and deplete the shields/barriers of everything, whilst the Asari would do the actual damage (I would get few tech burst kills occasionally, but overload and tech burst does very little damage). Final score was 60k to the Asari, 50k to my engineer, and ~20k and 10k for the other two.
So not getting kills pays off too. (I'm not to sure how thou... but it did...)

Don't really care about the kills but I think it's poor form to not let the Krogan have the mooks in front of him. It makes them happy.

It is not the kill stealing that really bothers people, that is just the displaced reason. What bothers people are the teammates who wait to shoot ANY enemies until the very last second to steal kills. It pisses me off because they are basically doing NOTHING until they steal a kill...

Yes, this is what bothers me when I notice it. After sniping a Brute down to one bar, the guy who was sitting next to me finally takes a shot, and kills the Brute that I had whittled down. Really? I don't care about the concept of kill-stealing in this game, but you're really going to wait until AFTER I've whittled down a tough enemy before you do ANYTHING???

Yes and no, I only get annoyed when i am setting up a biotic explosion and someone comes by and shoots the guy caught in my singularity. Its such a waste of my powers. Oh and i get alittle annoyed when a vangaurd jumps across the map to kill something I'm fighting. Other than that no.

It's not about score but it is irksome when your effectiveness is drastically cut down by people preventing you from doing the AoE damage of biotic explosions and tech bursts. Trying to enter rage mode for the DR can be a pain when some one is shooting your heavy melee target while it's locked in.

Glory hunters in general get on my nerves and given that's how most randoms seem to play I think that's going to put reall limit on the life span of MP for me. The difference between being on a team working together and being in a game with some people trying to get the top score is night and day. MP would be better if the individual score was just removed. A team based score which rewarded effective teams would instantly improve people's behaviour.

Nope. Noone in ANY game should care about kill stealing. The ONLY thing you should worry about is your team winning/surviving the match.

Kill stealing is just something elitists use to complain for no reason.

The only time I get irritated is when you get bad tactics like everyone looking the same way because they want a piece of the action, and as such a phantom wipes out my 3 squadmembers.

Happens enough to be frustrating.

I am honest, I play competitively. Tnat measn of course I want to be on the top of the score board if possible. That however only applies when I can play like this. If the situation is that my current playstlye doesn't fit, I relegate to a support role. I am a bit bummed, but as long as we win the match, everything worked great.

Though I can get a tad miffy when someone constantly shoots my targets dead when I was just aiming at them, though more at the wasted efficiency when two people are going for the same targets rather then him/her "stealing the kill".

There is kill stealing in ME3.

Lol aside from the joke this guy hits the nail on the head for me.  I do enjoy the M.P. it just sucks when the person standing next to you will rather die than take some damage off a brute if he's not gonna get the kill.   Watched said example happen and the vanguard got pulverized.  Granted I coulda spammed incinerate but it was a test and said vanguard failed.

Probably someone's mentioned it before, but when playing as an adept I do get a bit annoyed when someone ruins me setting up a biotic explosion. I mean, I've packed a pistol only so that my drell has 2sec cooldowns on everything and all you can do is ruin my bread-and-butter work? Gah.

Having said that, that's not really kill-stealing, it's more a lack of communication and understanding. Kill-stealing itself doesn't really bother me. The best scoreboards are where everyone finishes the game on similar scores, because that means everyone played their part.

Maybe it's because I tend to land on the top end of the scoreboard, but I think people whining about killstealing are being absurd. It's a team game, and you get experience based on team results. I do try to avoid playing "selfishly," though, i.e. not shooting an enemy that has low health with my Mantis. But if an enemy's going to do damage to the team effort, I'm not going to politely sit by while the soldier who can't shoot his assault rifle straight takes five minutes to kill a Cannibal. The fact of the matter is that if you're efficient you wind up raking in a lot of kills.

I should explain ... there was one really annoying time I was accused of stealing by this guy with a Battlefield 3 character. He was doing terribly, it was obvious it was one of his first games, and he kept accusing everyone of gross incompetence (the rest of the team was actually doing quite well against the Reapers, on Bronze, despite most of them only being N7 10 or so). It was very frustrating. Only time I've ever decided to not revive someone because they annoyed me that much.

I can DEFINITELY understand the frustration from Adepts, though. Setting up explosions is what that class does, and it helps the team to have one of those huge explosions go off in a cluster; if someone shoots your Singularity'd target that you meant to warp, it can be frustrating. I think most people who have actually played Adept know not to do that sort of thing, though. Or at least I hope most people would.

Long story short shut up and play as a team.

It's a minor annoyance. It's more of a "Damn .25 seconds faster & it would have been mine" but it's life. I just finished a match w/ a friend where I was an Infil using the Widow & he played an Asari Vanguard w/the Spike Shotty & we were stealing eachothers kills left & right. It happens & reaching wave 11 full extract is more important than who got more kills. What I hate is when someone pops a missile launcher when an Atlas/Banshee/Prime has less than half its armor just to nab the kill. What a waste.

The bad part of it is everyone focusing fire on something that really doesn't need focused fire. For example, there's a Phantom running amok, but OMFG three people ABSOLUTELY HAVE TO kill the Assault Trooper herp derping in the corner. And then there's people that REALLY don't know their roles. Like Vanguards and Soldiers attacking a Guardian. From the front. Really? Leave Guardians to Infiltrators or Engineers with Combat Drones. You aren't going to kill anything by emptying clip after clip or charging a Guardian's shield. There's 20 bajillion guys over there that you can kill in two seconds, rather than the five minutes you waste shooting at something you can't easily handle.

The thing that bothers me more than anything is people that walk in front of me when I go to take a shot or launch a power. Sure I can't hurt my team, but I can't hurt anything else either. So stop it.

Doesn't bother me. You get credit for the assist anyway. Besides, its co-op. You're supposed to work together, not worry about your killstreak. Chances are the guy that stole your kill that you "hate" so much, probably revived you once or twice as well. Frankly, there's so much going on in later waves, that its hard not to kill-steal sometimes.

The best players pass the ball. Some times you make the play, sometime you set up the play. As long as your team gets the win in the end, it's good.

It doesn't really bother me, but it can get frustrating when people show a glaring ignorance of tactics.  Setting up a biotic explosion only to have the target sniped is annoying for every biotic player ever.  I only shoot biotically ragdolled enemies if it's obvious that no one is going to detonate them.  Occasionally some new players will fire off a singularity and then run away, instead of exploding it.  If I see that, I either detonate it myself (if I can), or I shoot the enemies inside it.

It can also be annoying if you're playing a melee oriented character (like a Krogan) and have all of your prime targets picked off before you can get to them, denying your blood rage or making it trigger right at the end of a wave.

But as a whole, I don't really care.  Especially if I'm playing a support type class like Engineer or Sentinel.  Those guys aren't designed to rack up kills, they're designed around stripping defenses and distracting/CCing the enemy.

Not at all, whenever people complain about it around me I remind that in the later rounds it won't matter because there is going to be plenty of killing to go around and tougher enemies (banshee, atlas).

Not really...
What does disturb me is when you get the melee oriented players who constantly run into packs of mobs that are getting effectively fired upon and dying. I've died more times trying to save players like that than due to errors strictly of my own making.

Otherwise, the squad succeeds or fails as a group so anyone that can kill it faster is welcome to do so.

Complaining about "kill-stealing" is just selfish. Everyone gets the XP anyway and you get your points for the damage you're doing. I hate the term and the fact that people make a big deal out of it.
