Hey,

I have a problem starting up ME2 under windows XP. Recently my pc died and I had to fix a new one. After installing ME2 on the new pc, it doesn't start up. I can configure the settings, but when i hit the play button literally nothing happens. I can hit the button again as much as I want (it doesn't freeze up) but it just doesn't start loading the game.

I'm running windows XP home edition with SP2 on a:

Intel Pentium 2 CPU 2.80 GHRZ dualcore with 4 GB RAM and a Geforce 9600 GT card with 512 MB
My MoBo is an ASUS P5L-MX

I tried to run ME2 on this PC in windows 7, but even on the lowest specs it didn'r run well, which is kinda weird I guess, because on my old PC it ran flawless with the highest specs, and i'm using the same GB RAM and videocard that I used on my old PC.

I have 2 questions:

Either is there a way to play ME2 while the game runs smoothly with my specs under windows 7?
If not, how can I get ME2 to run under windows XP?

I hope someone can help me because I love the game and a want to do a few more playthroughs before I start on ME3, and I just can't figure out what the problem is, either with running smooth under Windows 7, or starting up under windows XP.

Thanx in advance

You downgraded is what you have done. The "Pentium Dual" is a C2D version of a Celeron (almost all of the onboard cache RAM was removed). It's really a terrible CPU for gaming purposes.

You must have been very badly brain-washed. Perfectly decent AMD hardware that really works very well is available for much less than anything with an Intel CPU, any kind, and Intel chipset, any variety. So cheap that the idea of accepting the horribleness of a Pentium Dual for one minute is just appalling.
