i love these threads, they assume they're talking for the majority, when they most certainly aren't. I disagree with your feelings, as do others and when you factor in only a small percentage of people use this site compared to the actual units sold, then, again, you most certainly aren't talking for the majority.

Those who are dissatisfied with something tend to shout the loudest and also tend to drown those that have little or no issues.

I've met quite a few people over xbox live that first tried Mass Effect 3 when the free demo hit. Most of them bought the game not having invested years in the series like most of BSN, and nearly everyone of them loved the game....until the last 10 minutes. I talked to my bud who works at gamestop and he's telling me people have been returning Mass Effect 3 along with 1 and 2. Some people are just that pissed. It's not just the forums man.

They won't when they realize (as they probably do already) that all this debacle may have serious finantial implications for the future of this franchise and of BW games.

Pics or didn't happen. Haven't seen anything like that, and I highly doubt it.

gotta love the effects of "the court of public opinion" especially when the dumb masses get involved...they whine about something because it was not how THEY envisioned it would end... >.<

No, the ending of Mass Effect 3 is false advertising.

The ending could easily have been fixed. If the choice to "Destroy" was to destroy most technology but not the Mass
Relays. There could be a time delay/progressive degradation to allow Joker to pick up a dying Shepard, get through
the relay to a planet and land there.

This way Shepard defies the "boy" and picks optimism that organic and synthetic nature can change.

After the one time technology breakdown all could be rebuilt and the mass relays are still there.

Shepard would still die because of the implants. Still a heroic ending with a possible future.

Have Shepard die on the planet with the crew of the Normandy celebrating his sacrifice.

You can still have the ending semi-dark with technology set back for years and many deaths from the disruptions.

Guaranteed most fans would have accepted such an ending and it makes more sense for the whole series.

I'm calling bull.  The same impilcations that were going to harm BioWare after their shoddy DA2 showing? Every game brings public condemnations, it's nothing new.

It's like people saying they weren't gonna buy another BioWare game after playing the disaster that was DA2, yet here we are, with more people than ever buying the game. every major release gets slated.  People were never gonna buy another TES game after oblivion, yet they too are still moaning about Skyrim after stating they'd never play another Beth game.

Seriously, modern gaming is such that these sort of things are quickly forgotten and the majority of people that are moaning now will be the same people proclaiming their love for all things BioWare when they announce their next game.

I'm sorry, but people who respond to articulate, well-written posts with dismissive, three word 4chan memes such as the one above are an absolute plague of boils upon the internet.

If you have nothing to say, then it's usually best to say nothing - You'll appear much wiser for it.

You have the right to your opinion. I am happy lots of people enjoy the endings, and to be honest, I don't know who are in the majority or not and you are quite right that there are trolls and whiners among our ranks.

But what I also know, is that many fans are upset and quite frankly "hurt" for a lack of better words, with the ending. You see, I  am not just thinking about myself, and I would never try to discourage people from trying to persuade a developer from adding content to a game so they could feel that it reflected their expectations and wishes, as long as they do not interfere with narrative logic, lore or the endings that are already present and you enjoy, and make these impossible.

It was never my intention to drown anyone, I just wanted to make a constructive contribution on what I and many friends view as a real problem

You people whining about your choices not mattering.

Did you not play the game? Your choices mattered and affected just about every mission in the entire game, all of which culminated in the final battle - where the resources (earned via your decision) determined success or failure.

I'm not quite sure what you people were expecting. An ending that awkwardly mentions every single decision you made over the course of 3 games? That's a little unrealistic.

You just need to accept that you aren't happy with the ending. Demanding that Bioware changes its endings is about as anti-art as you can get.

Actually, they mattered for little more than which options the "ultimate baddie" opened up for us. None of which were unilaterally successful. But that's a discussion from a more philosophical standpoint.

Nothing mattered at all period.

This is the reason why this game was particularly bad. The first to games made a promise this one couldn't deliver.

Agreed i loved the game all in all there were certain adpects i would have changed like the way the side missions were handled and some what timed. I didnt like the lack of wheel chosind dialouge options for your crew and i sure as hell hated the endings. What people have to remember is that alot of us dont care if our crew dies as long as the ending makes perfect sense and ties everything together ending the serious for good. Ehhhh but people keep repeating over and over that we want a happy ending whah whah whah not the case.

Well, regarding "drinking up with their hos or their bros" its not so much a demand as a request. Why would we make such an outlandish request? Because it was one of the personal reasons why so many of "us Shepards" fought so damn hard. Not only for the universe, but for our future and our loved ones.  Delivering on that brings happiness and contentment into these players and into this world. making people happy in this way is a good thing, especially so if you do it in a good way without Disney-coloured landscapes and waving American flags in the sunset, but instead reminding us of what has been lost and the monumental task before them in rebuilding and keeping the peace for which they have payed so high.

Regarding the cycle being overcome, through synthetics and organics joining forces instead of trying to destroy one another, no, there are no guarantees, only a hope. It would be a hopeful ending with a lingering menace lurking in the background. The catalyst and reapers accepting the accomplishments and withdrawing but threatening to return if the situation changes, that is not less logical than any of the current endings. On the contrary.

I hope not. I think they want to make a game that the die hard fans enjoy. And I think they do want to listen and come to some kind of mutually beneficial arrangement.
